Press conference about mini album! Also reporting on Romeo's activities!
Tower Records has make "Live Liveful" as their theme. Together with individual artists and their companies, they have created a [Live Liveful Collection]. The first project is with SS501 member - even though working as a solo artist, enjoys super popularity in Asia, has created his own company Park Jungmin Inc. And in collaboration with the new company, a mini album [Save Us Tonight] will be on sale at Tower Records Shibuya location, and also will be on sale at Park Jung Min's official Fan Club from 12th May.
Before this, on April 25th, Tower Records Shibuya and Park Jungmin Inc. held a joint press conference. At the press conference, not only media was present, Park Jung Min's official Japanese Fan Club invited 100 lucky fans by lucky draw, to attend this press conference. After a brief introduction from Tower Records Shibuya manager, and amid of fans chants and cheering, Park Jung Min appeared and greeted fans with "long time no see, this is Park Jung Min"; fans chanted "Jung Min ~~!. He responded with a smile "thanks! I am full of energy!". With this very harmonious atmosphere, the question and answer period commenced.
Q: this time, when did you arrive in Japan?
A: The day before yesterday. (fans buzz....) oh, its yesterday, because I felt yesterday was such a long day, felt like its day before yesterday, but its yesterday. (laughs)
Q: what were you doing yesterday?
A: I did a lot yesterday. I attended interview(s), at night, my other self met with the producer, from now on, my activities would depend very much on him. (laughs)
Q: The new project has started, lets see what is the relationship between Park Jung Min and Tower Records"?
A: Personally, the best record company is Tower Records,.....and if someone ask me "where can I buy cds?" and of course its [Tower Records], if someone ask me "which point card should I use?" and of course its [Tower Records!]. Me, personally, I love the location here, I have held many live shows and signing events here.
Q: Now that this new project has been launched and you have created your own label, how would you want to proceed with your future music activities?
A: Thank you (fans clapped). Creating a label [translator's explanation: a record label is a brand and/or a trademark associated with the marketing of music recordings and music videos, and often associated with a publishing company that manages such brands and trademarks; and is NOT the record company itself], reason being - I often ask fans [what do you like about Jung Min?] the answer is [love Jung Min's voice!!] I have often wanted to sing my own songs, I have many songs in mind, in concerts, dont you want to hear new songs? Sometimes, all of a sudden, new tunes come into my mind, and when I want to create music, I am thinking, maybe its better to have my own label? I have this idea of doing something for my child [meaning record label].
[mc: how do you feel about looking after that child?]
- that child uses a lot of money~~(laughs). Yesterday, I met with the producer, and we spoke a lot about this. Really, that is me. It's a feeling like this (laughs)
Q: how many songs are in the new album this time?
A: a total of 10 songs. 5 songs - 2 different versions. There is also Korean version for these 5 songs.........(at this time, the reporter dropped his lens cover) dropped~~ [Jung Min stood and picked up the item]. When I sing Japanese songs, I also, if possible, want fans to appreciate my Korean songs. That is why I attempted to write Korean songs to be included in these 10 songs.
(mc: Korean and Japanese versions, only 1 song's title is different?)
- I wrote all the lyrics....oh, only one is not. technically, its all written by me. (laughs). Majority is written by me, but direct translation from Japanese to Korean is not good enough, so I have been listening to the music and creatively I wrote the Japanese and Korean versions. (laughs)
Q: the album cover for all 4 versions are super nice, what is the concept?
- The song [Save Us Tonight] is filled with my ideas - how Park Jung Min should look, as an idol, before turning 30, also have the "still very young" idea; (laughs), I want everybody to see a bright and pleasant Park Jung Min. At the beginning of my solo career, my songs were very strong and sexy dance genres; this time, I want to sing some pleasant and refreshing songs.
Q: you want to reassure people, via these album covers, that [Park Jung Min is still an idol] concept?
- [yes]. that is the purpose. (mc: for what's going on here, is an idol!)
- (laughs) oh, is like this.
Q: the sexy feel of limited A, B editions is different from the Normal edition?
A: talking about sexiness, everybody loves the real feel. Sexiness that has the tangible feel is the real sexiness. On the whole, we use white as main theme. Limited A version main song [will hug nobody but you] (mc: you cannot say this before the hug (handshake) session, because you have to hug everybody eh?) No, no, is only at that particular moment, within the 30 seconds of my life, besides you, I wont hug anybody else. Its true, one on one hug (laughs). That feeling is similar to chewing some rose pastels, we filmed the rose pastels that symbolizes my passion.
- edition B are all very sad songs. for example - [I feel you]. lyrics totally belong to [shadowing love], [pretending to love feels good], very sad songs, you can tell from the album cover. [I am waiting for you in bed], [you are really here] feeling.
Q: Edition A [hug nobody but you] 's girl is the type that cries behind the bed?
A: yes, because [hugging people] of course is not just one person, 2 to 3 is even better. (laughs). (fans shouted - geez!!) have you heard of such a person? you think this way? anybody? am I this type of person? (laughs)

When Yumi announced the title track of "Save Us
Tonight" will be played, fans were super excited; not live performance
though, its going to be played from the CD.
Fans chanted "Jung Min please sing!". Jung Min responded [even though I wanted to
sing very much, its better we wait until 11th May, so today, just let it be]
(laughs) "Save Us Tonight" was
played. Jung Min was sitting and
watching, and part of the choreography was revealed. The song is like this [I want to do something
that fans would chant]. [when practising
for the MV, everybody said "dont do it". "nowadays, nobody dances
like that anymore." (laughs) . In
order that I can have a fun time with everybody, purposely design simple
steps. Director even said "Jung
Min, do you have a problem with that?" (laughs). But, the end result is super good, please
expect a lot]
Q: Heard [Save Us Tonight]'s lyrics are also written by Jung
Min? Its a song that will lead people into expectations?
A: Yes. The lyrics are written while I am listening to the
tunes. Its talking about which kind of
love is better, like [want to love like this].
When I listen to the music of this song, I feel it would be good if I
present this song in a very pleasant and bright way. Its like, in the morning, when you greet
others "how are you?....". its this type of feeling. It really feels like its a secret password
between 2 persons, and there is no need to say it out loud [I love you].....All
types of similar lyrics are thus written.
He (Jung Min) continued to say [this is the last lyrics
written, its super nice, feels somewhat.....is like having gone to places that
I want to go, the lyrics were written with that kind of feeling. (laughs)]
"hugs nobody but you" was played.
[once you listened to it, you would want to hear it again
and again (laughs). I diligently wrote the lyrics]. Jung Min was very satisfied
when its done. Talking about the contents
of the lyrics [maybe you think its a coincidence, in fact, that was my
trick!" a feeling like that. There
must be a reason for loving (somebody), its like that.(laughs)]
Moreover, in order to have a perfect press conference, Jung
Min also brought a copy of "Save Us Tonight" 's PV for viewing. The PV opens up with a bright and sunny day,
in midst of a forest, and an artist dancing, and ends with a nightfall; its
filled with Park Jung Min's adorable cuteness.
As soon as the PV ends, fans chanted "so cute~~!"
[while filming (PV) and doing all kinds of cute expressions
that (I) haven't been doing, there shouldn't be any problems? Because we started this (choreography for the
MV and the expressions) from the morning, I am totally confused. (laughs) The so called "filming" indeed is
(using a very determined expression) a staring into somebody, so, in this way,
they were able to capture a long awaited for very bright and jolly Park Jung
Min. Personally, I have a sense of
"will there be a problem" feeling, but the end result is excellent.....]
, PV was also satisfactorily done.
Q: How long did it take to finish the PV?
A: among filming of PVs, this took the shortest time. Also,
its the first time its done outside, forest? park? Its a forest~~~the type that looks like
parks. (fans laughing). There are places
like that. (laughs) (In Korea
there is) Its like a forest for the civilians.
Because its [Save Us Tonight], did we really have to film it at
night? But I really want to show a jolly
me for the whole day, so, the filming was done from 9 am to around 2-3 am
. (mc: that was considered the shortest time
spent on filming?) is the shortest
time~~ I heard that it took Romeo about 36 - 38 hours non stop to film [Give Me
Your Heart] MV. (LAUGHS) (mc: did you do filming in any public places?) oh~~ no.
But with regard to the choreography, everybody only got together the
night before to practice, that got me a little worried.
From now onwards, its about Jung Min's upcoming
activities.
- 11th May - concerts
- from 6th of May to 12th, Tower Records Shibuya will put up
posters on 1/F (translator remarks - not 100% sure about the exact meaning**)
- 12th May - autograph and handshake sessions for mini album
purchasers; moreover, will be one day
manager for Tower Records Shibuya, and
an appointment ceremony, together with the handing over of business
cards ceremony will be hedl.
- Regarding the 1-day shop manager event [when I am the shop
manager, does it mean I can direct the record shop? So, on that day, everything
has to be sold! (laughs)] Showing a
playful expression, making fans all laughed.
After that is a media question and answer period. Since Jung Min is so familiar with what to
do, the media Q & A session will be done with invited reporters.
Q: How is (Jung Min)'s other friend doing?
A: my friend? he is
doing fine, looks like he is beginning to prepare for an album. So, have great expectations. Moreover, that guy, while I was travelling
abroad, I heard he will be going to S. America
, also
going to Europe
. (mc:
going to S. America
?) That guy, I heard he will
be going, lets wait and see.
Q: in [Save Us Tonight]'s lyrics, it talks about [the key
point is waiting for the best pose] so what type of female pose does Jung Min
like most?
A: This, actually I was asked about this yesterday. But, I have not experienced it yet (able to ) a female pose that makes my heart throb~~~~~~
Personally, I am really puzzled....(Jung Min accepted the request, afterwards,
Yumi, even though tried making a pose that would make someone's heart throb
(Chinese translator's notes: in reference to newssabandon news, Yumi pretended
she dropped something, but was unable to bend her back to pick up, so she bent
her knees to pick up)
- I thought of that, but surprisingly, females making that
type of pose wont make my heart throb.
Q: Have you ever seen different parts of a female ? (that
makes people's heart throb?)
A: I have seen a lot, a lot.
I've seen almost everything. But,
rather then having a pose that makes people's heart throb, I would rather see
inner beauty, happy faces which I like.
I really prefer these (inner beauty and happy faces) over sexy poses.
Q: Even when you reach 30 years old, still have the feeling of continuing to be
cute?
A: Oh, yes. (laughs).
Even when I turn 30. I dont think
there is going to be a problem. But being bright and jolly is good. Playing cute is giving me some pressure. But, this time, coming here, oh ~~~~ I found out I am still super
cute~~(laughs). From now on, I have to
show people that type of quality (being cute),
now you all know Jung Min does not only has sexiness~~ (laughs). Now, the one thing I need to consider is - I
have to try to sing some summer songs, at which time, I would become more cute
and more pleasant. (laughs)
Winding up question and answer session, photo shooting
began. Park Jung Min responded to fans'
requests for [cute poses]; [handsome poses]; and then [sexy poses]; [nagging to
females' poses]; etc. [JM] able to show
different types of poses, needless to say, would be terrific to both the media
reports and to fans. Ending words to
fans - [a come back album after such a long time, lets think about this. This is my first ever official Japanese
album, I would ask that you all support
me, and please promote a lot. From this
time onwards, I will be functioning as a singer, and also as an actor with many
different types of activities and I will be working very hard towards my goal
of becoming a world star. So, please
care for me and support me a lot.
Seeing fans that are clapping, and cheering, Park Jung Min
waved to fans and stepped back into the backstage of the fan meeting
venue. Right from the beginning, Jung
Min invited fans to participate in his promotional event. And after that, there is still the one on one
handshake and talking fan meeting sessions, and with this opportunity, we were
able to see that Jung Min was really happy when he met his fans.
