Recently found out about this artist from watching this weird a** documentary called "Whores Glory" on Netflix. I've listened to their albums "Grey Oceans" and "The Adventures of Ghosthorse and Stillborn" and loved them both. Anyone know what genre their music would be considered as? It's goofy as hell, but I love it

Yeah... wikipedia labels them as New Weird America, Freak folk, experimental, hip-hopera... I like to think that they're just in a genre all their own because honestly, there aren't many other artists that even compare to their sound. Saw them live last October, cried nearly the whole time. Their sound is so spiritual to me. Major out of body experience.

I knew about Cocorosie long before i saw the movie "Whore's Glory" but the funny thing is I always pictured their music having something to do with struggling women. Maybe that's just their sound. Anyway, when i saw that movie, I thought the music definitely fit.

You should definitely listen to Werewolf and Lemonade. Those songs are killer.
