What's really worrying is how unsubstantiated allegations can ruin a political career, which can be directed at anyone, at any time, for any reason.
... please don't tell me you're just now becoming aware of this phenomenon.
I'm not, but it's ferocity and the amount of it is the problem. And the specific direction it's taking. It's not just political corruption sprinkled around it's for a very specific purpose, in a coordinated fashion, from the same side to push a specific agenda.
When lies begin to influence politics more than truth, and it's for a specific purpose, things can get bad, fast. Which they did at the time.
except, the vast majority of Alabama voters stayed that the accusations against Moore had very little to do with their votes.
Keep pushing the spin from the right though, the rest of us know that decency won out over a man twice removed from office for refusing to do his job
I already showed otherwise, but here's another source.
"For about 40 percent of voters, the allegations were the most important factor in their vote,
mostly for Jones voters. Moore voters were more motivated by their support for Donald Trump. Early exit polling shows Jones supporters more staunchly behind their candidate than those behind Moore. " [

"
Fully 52 percent of voters said the sexual misconduct allegations against Moore were true, according to the exit poll — and 89 percent of them voted for Jones. By contrast, 43 percent said they were false, with Moore winning 94 percent of those voters.
A 60 percent majority said the allegations were at least a minor factor in their votes, and Jones won more than two-thirds of them. Among the 35 percent who said the allegations against Moore were not a factor at all, the Republican won 76 percent of the vote." [

Bear in mind that 40% is mostly on the democrat side, so you can double it and get roughly 80% of the democrats. 40% is more than enough to influence an election regardless when the difference to win was less than 1%.
