But anyway, like I said to other Gaian who quoted me, being raised in a violent and demanding upbringing can make you suspicious of everything and everyone, since mistakes are seldomly forgiven in such harsh conditions and when one person comments about you like this, you think that he/she's ready to pick a fight with you for no reason other than they hate something on you or is "crossed" with you for some unknown reasons.
Thankfully, I'm not like this all the time, and I'm aware when my thoughts are right or wrong about someone. But sometimes my perception fails, and when it happens, my anxiety goes up the roof and my "fight or flight" instincts go together with it up the skies. And the results are comments like the one you just read.
However, I can still figure out how thoughts like this are destructive to me. And again, I'm sorry for thinking so low of you.
I agree. It's really nice when your original idea finally gets to be on the top 10 among the obvious and less subtle kind of avatars. Shows that people have understood your proposal and rewarded you so. smile + 50 confidence points out of -50, which makes 0.

Spoilered because this is gonna be one hell of a rant that's only tangentially related to the thread; and know that, while my tone may be harsh, I mean it in the best way.The thing is, I really don't care for personal sob stories, and even less for your tone right now; instead of taking out your issues on random strangers on the internet who probably don't care, you should maybe talk to a professional and learn to deal with your past so you can come out the other side as a better person.
Instead of putting the blame on your emotions and my words, instead of letting your past define who you are and dictate whatever you do and say, consider that you alone are responsible for your actions and words and the way you choose to interpret other people's actions and words. In the end, all those excuses are just that, excuses; what happened to you in the past isn't relevant to Runway, it isn't relevant to your avatars, it isn't relevant to me or what I said; it's only relevant because you allow it to be by refusing to take responsibility for your own damn life.
I don't need your approval, or your "confidence points", or you calling me a "champ", just like you shouldn't need my approval to go about your life; instead of being borderline insulting to me, maybe learn some self-reflection, and here's another one for you: if criticism is something that you don't (yet) know how to handle well due to your past, then stay out of places where criticism is bound to happen. It's right in the name of the thread, I'm pretty sure this has been mentioned before, people use this thread to vent their frustrations and if something they say makes you feel personally attacked/hurt, then maybe this thread just isn't for you, and the link back to the main forum is right at the top and bottom of every page.

And since it bears repeating (not just towards you, but @ anyone who ever feels discouraged because they feel like they can't ever do well in Runway):
Don't give up, because the more you make avatars and the more you enter Runway, the more you will get the hang of crafting avatars, and crafting avatars that the voters will like; don't give up, because luck is just as much a part of it as anything else, and you never know when you might get lucky; don't give up, because the joy of creating avatars in and of itself is already its own reward; and most importantly, don't give up, because you only truly lose the moment you stop trying.

Man, I was expecting a lot of generic-pretty-with-bigass-hair for Mane Event, but it somehow manages to be even ******** worse than I thought, ewwww lol
On a sidenote, this might just be the worst I've done in a theme since quite a while, and I can't even be mad because that's just how crap the theme is and I was fully expecting it lol
And Dear Diary is... only slightly better, still a lot of generic-pretty and cutesy "I love you"s, but at least the overall quality seems a bit higher, and I'm somehow not flopping as hard as I anticipated there rofl
@ tomorrow's themes: for BtB I really wouldn't count Loyal's tbh, since even though you buy with gold, it's recolours of cash shop stuff, and recolours of something is basically the same as using the original, so, y'know lol D*C is a bit of a grey area for me, it is all very high-quality items which isn't really the intent of the theme, but it is also very much a gold shop, and the items are still different from your typical cash shop fare, so that's like, either-either to me? If I see a really good avatar using D*C stuff, I'll probably throw it some votes, if I see a really bad one with D*C stuff, I'll skip it, same as always lol
I feel like we're gonna see a lot of Colberts and Conans for TV Personality tomorrow (and other such people, y'know, actual real personalities), kinda hoping I'm wrong about it and we'll also see fictional personality types though, like from British detectives, cop shows, vampires and other supernatural creatures, that sort of thing o3o a

I know you could care less about this, but my personal "battle" against my self-esteem and self-worth issues has been going on for years since I've hearded about this for the first time.
But thankfully I've recently managed to reserve a vacancy in a public hospital where I'll have sessions of therapy. Once I get said vacancy, I'll wont fight this "battle" on my own anymore and eventually take full control of my destiny and make a stand on my life.
