Joo, totta. Olen ollut muutamissa maissa ulkomailla ja siinä varmasti kestää tovi asettua uuteen maahan jos pysyvämmin on. surprised

Ei siinä mitään idioottimaista tms. ole. Nämä ovat aina fiilispohjan mielipidekeskusteluja tällaiset asiat. smile

I like Volbeat myself. Not one of my biggest favourites but definitely a nice sounding band!
I'd go to see them too if close enough to my whereabouts despite of my disinterest towards Kamelot, hahah. n.n

Haha, you should have done that! It'd been epic without a doubt. n__n

Awwh, well, that's still very good! I avoided slang words because I know they're tricky for one still learning the language. I will translate the whole thing here (not word to word but the meaning):
Nice to meet you! I hope you'll get some rest soon. smile
I'm only feeling very hot but I have to go back to the store to get some shampoo. Not to mention I have to walk there. unu''
I'm a horrid whiner today because I'm tired on top of everything else.

Jeps, totta! n.n

Kyllä ne varmasti hyvin menee! Itse olen ns, lomaillut tässä jo hetken aikaa.
Toisaalta alkaa jo puuduttamaan kun ei ole säännöllistä viikkorytmiä ollenkaan. biggrin

Oy! well. I think I got some of what you said.
I was confused a lil. >.< Darn.
What's the first step with taking up Finnish as a second language... should I just learn random words...or how to use verbs, ect?

I am teaching myself Finnish right now, so I am not very fluent at speaking it yet... but this website helped me get started learning the language...

http://www.digitaldialects.com/Finnish.htm

Everyone learns differently, so this website might help you out some.

It may also help if you have a theme (clothes, animals, foods, etc.) to the words that you are learning on certain days. It helped me stay focused... But I think that I liked that method of learning because it's how I learned German in high-school. Flash cards, help too.

edit: sorry for randomly jumping into the conversation... just thought that the website might help sweatdrop

Hello! The name's Janelle.
It's ok for jumping into the convo! It's most welcome. biggrin

I really like Spongebob by the way >.<

It seems like Jester25 knew how to help you. n.n
I have studied many different languages and there is always the same way to start. Basic everyday phrases, colours, numbers. After those come food, family and "basic" animals. n.n

It's a good thing that you helped! I hope you'll stick around this thread. 3nodding

Yleensä kaikki postailee sattumanvaraisesti kiinnittämättä juuri huomiota toisten viesteihin, joten tämä on todella kivasti kehittynyt ihan lyhyen ajan sisällä. 3nodding
Jag måste säga att Damen som sjöng för Finland I eurovision var helt klockren smile

Tietysti kestäisi. Sinänsä kun jo Suomen sisällä kulttuurialueelta toiselle muuttaessa voi sinänsä joutua hetken aikaa sopeutumaan.

No, siis... Joku voisi vain todeta, että nuoren ihmisen tyhmää "radikaaliutta" tai näin... Että "siinäpähän sitten katsotaan, kun tilanne käy tukalaksi, että seisotaanko vielä sanojen takana".

Well that seems like I'm already past that phase. I can remember days of the week.. How to count to 20? I think.. 10 definitely.. xD I remember certain animal names... and I know the most famous word to the non-finn speakers. ninja

Would be wise to review though. From learning Russian/Ukrainian..I forgot a lot of things and probably will confuse the two.

kiitos biggrin

Out of general curiosity (and as an excuse to practice x3), I post this question to anyone in the thread: Onko sinulla suosikki karkkia tai jälkiruoka, joka on kotoisin Suomessa?
(In case my translation is incomprehensible: Do you have a favourite candy or dessert, one that's native to Finland?)

(same in english in short, it's hard to think of stuff that is originated from Finland since we are a very mixed kitchen I think. I do like salmiak and then this Blueberry Goodystuff is good. It has blueberries, talkkuna flour, sour cream, whipped cream and some times spiced cookies. There doesn't seem to be a translation for Talkkuna but it's basically roasted and then cooked flour and beans or just flour)
