well, a surprising update- one of my friends provided me with a flash decompiler, which means i can see individual frames on any .swf files

the good: this makes archiving more accurate, lossless versions of the animated items infinitely easier!

the weird: i found some unused assets from the usable towns items, which has animations for two unused features... apparently at some point, there was plans for options to urinate and defecate in the pools emotion_puke

should i go ahead and share them in the unreleased games item section?

I bet those were meant to be used by paw avatars .... sweatdrop

w/ your previous post: the pools update was added in 2008, while paws were added far later in 2014. the bathroom items were most likely planned as a funny gag that were ultimately deemed unpopular/gross enough to not make the final cut.

with black tonfa- there are poses missing, you're correct! as mentioned in the 'etc/changed' tab, all poses were originally released, but after the server migration in 2017, several poses were deleted as the artist in charge of releasing the item just copy/pasted the image urls when uploading the poses, meaning that it was caught in the cache of old/unused items that were deleted. artists were able to retrieve SOME of the poses, but a handful of them are still lost.

tektek itself was taken down in 2013-2014, as they demonstrated a conflict of interest/started monetizing gaia's assets (advertising their own site for users that had adblockers activated) and gaia responded by filing a DCMA. unfortunately, tektek is very hard to look through with the wayback machine, as some pages that do work don't have their images cached.

Few more bug items that may be considered unreleased.



*Note: All "Bug Friend" variations have 3 poses but only House Fly Bug Friend has a pose that doesn't match. It's suppose to be the 3rd pose of the Red Fly Bug Friend. The correct pose does exist (boop) but it wasn't linked correctly.

The bug friends that have been released were from the 2014 Beach Party Kickstart/CI or Project Old School rig, which hasn't been re-released in ages so I don't know if these are part of that rig.

Avatar builder has been a bit buggy for me so I personally haven't found anything new. But I did notice that someone found some dropped posed in the Avatar Item Glitch thread. Shout out to Aerdian for this!

Confidential Mustard originally had dropped pants but it was eventually added in August 2023. (Source)

Equipping Hermes' Moon (phi's test item) in avatar builder says the missing partner item is not equipped. Occurs with both male and female bases.




Also in the 2008 section, with the scrapped eggs from the easter event I found that you can currently equip one of the poses. Unfortunately none of the first pose are visible anymore but I seem to have stumbled on what might've been a second pose? They do appear to the same item, at least when comparing from what Stanford Condition shared in this thread to the link that I'm getting from the avatar builder.

Minor update regarding the easter eggs, I have a direct link to the second poses in MP! So while the item as a whole isn't available the 2nd pose of the Easter Eggs and Enamel Eggs are visible at the moment. Which is nice because they also happen to have the item description so we know what that is too.

IIRC, gaia abruptly announced that they were done doing evolving items entirely and said that they wouldn't do any more after hero's journey...
