THIS IS NOT A PETITION!
THIS IS A USER-CREATED SOLUTION!
THIS IS A USER-CREATED SOLUTION!
Hey you!
Let's face it.
Gaia hasn't been listening to our opinions on their new site design because they want to make the site more user-friendly to new users. What about the rest of Gaia that loved their purple Navigation Bar?
I was extremely upset when the navigation bar was changed.
I've been on Gaia since 2005. I've got a high school diploma. I don't need pictures or descriptions to point me in the right direction.
The shortcuts tab is completely useless to me, and I never have used it, nor do I want to start using it.
The colors are hard to read.
It takes up too much space, and it's well... bulky... and let's be honest: It's an eyesore.
At first I was pissed. I spent hours whining and complaining in the toolbar feedback thread, when I realized that instead of whining in some thread that an admin will never acknowledge, I could be doing something about it!
With my brother's help, and some help from a Greasemonkey Script owned by Absol - Ruler of Chaos, we found a way to get that beloved purple toolbar back!!!!
What is gaiaNavigation?
gaiaNavigation is a simple Firefox extension that reverts gaia's navigation system to that old purple navigation bar that we all loved so dearly. In other words: it changes your navigation bar on gaia from this:

To this:

It takes up less than 1MB of space and is really easy to use: Just download, install, and go!
How does it work?
It was made from a Greasemonkey Script which was entered into a Generator that made it into a Firefox Extension.
The Greasemonkey Script is here.
The Generator can be found here.
You can find out more in my FAQ here.
In other words, gaiaNavigation is merely a bunch of code similar to CSS and HTML that changes the appearance of the blue navigation bar. It does not "hack" GaiaOnline or retain any information from your computer whatsoever. It just simply changes the way GaiaOnline appears to you.
Also, for those wondering, gaiaNavigation appears to work very nicely with BetterGaia!

08/22/2009 - ANNOUNCEMENT:
Hey folks, I won't be updating this toolbar any more. In short.... I've gone elsewhere. I found a new site that I absolutely love and I've already nestled in with a few new friends and I'm having a blast there. I've been logging into gaia to merely check my PMs and then I disappear again.
I'm not one for off-site advertising so I won't say where I went but I went somewhere where the site design is more simple, the content of the site is of a much higher quality(Very little spam and very little chatspeak), and the items match with each other very well. I'm leaving the download up for you guys, but I won't be around to help with anything else. Sorry.
