• If anyone wants to build out a guide using any of these as a starting point I don't mind. I mostly just made these because I had want of these resources, but it's not neccesarily the most effective sorting/layout for people who aren't me.
• These lists are not updated frequently. I update a spreadsheet and upload a batch of updates now and then. A link to the spreadsheets used for the lists in this guide may be found in my signature/profile if you want to browse those.
• That said you're free to PM if you have some suggestions; or want the thread bumped if it's obsolete, I tend to not bump my stuff much despite continuing to update.

--not a general update log, just listing when new sections were added--
8/17/22: added Gas Mask and Hairsticks to the Various Mini Lists on page 5
8/31/24: added Veil Cutting items to page 5 so I can link to it whenever I want to mention them

Post-Migration Glitch Explainer

While it is technically a glitch there are no plans for it to be fixed since the flexibility it's made possible is widely enjoyed, though it can be frustrating to work with sometimes.

The glitch is basically that items released [or poses modified] after the big server migration around the start of Nov 2018 have weak collision detection, this allows poses that in a pre-migration setting would bump each other off to now be worn together. This means you can often wear one pre-migration and multiple post-migration items in the same slot. Not all poses can be stacked, for example post-migration hair/bangs, faces, tops, and belts are some poses that are often easily stacked, but arms and legs often don't.

Since the system is not actually designed to have two items worn in the same slot, this leads to the issue of it shuffling which is on top. as the poses are both trying to use the same layer/s. Once saved it will be flattened and can't shift; so as long as you can get it to display the desired layering in Dress Up/Avi Builder it can be saved that way but it may require multiple save attempts until the order you want gets locked in.

Always check the avatar in the header for if it saved correctly as the big image can be wrong. If you plan to use the avatar in 3d spaces you'll want to test it in a 3d space before being certain it saved as desired because the standing/sitting/frontview/backview may have each saved in a different order.
