What was your favorite evolving item?

I always thought the evolving items were some of gaia's coolest features. heart and I still use some of them regularly even though they are old . redface

I traded like half of my inventory at one point to be able to get a Picolitrosso's Urn when it was coming out!


What's your favorite? Do you have any memories about them? Are there any you still use?

i really wanted kelp back then and was bummed out i couldn't get my hands on it when i had the others
kinda satisfying taking it out of my wishlist after buying it years later crying heart

I still use hero's journey for the head... i dont need to use it all the time but it's become my crutch item where i instinctively slap it on bc i dont think my avatar looks right without it, even when its so subtle u can barely tell 💀

I'm so nostalgic for the EI phase of Gaia! That was when this site was at its best, IMO. I remember EI update time as 8pm on a Friday in my time, I used to log on and wait for it specifically.

As for favourites, I completely fell in love with Little Lucie from the beginning. As a doll dork and also someone with a serious soft spot for the spooky, it was just my cup of tea.

I also really enjoyed Enchanted Book, Keiko's Cake, Hermes Moon and Wisteria. And I still love and use Band of Bremen all the time!

My favorite EIs that I was excited about week-by-week was Gogh Reed, Compass of Seidh, and Zodiacal. I also miss the large pose-count EI's like Picolitrosso's Urn. Fav rapid ei would be Checkmate. I miss Fayren's work a lot :<

Anesidora woe, fremere's guard, alruna's rose, infernal spirit, the nightmare, masquerade gogh reed and cocoon.

Cocoon was the very first evolving item I ever had, it was a super affordable set of super pretty items back when having an ei meant you were rich.
I remember when those were the the items for the elite gaians back in the early '10.
Probably one of the only good things of the goldemord era was the inflation made those items almost accessible to everyone.
Then when the economy semi stabilized itself again some returned being incredible expensive.
It took me years of waiting and stalking the marketplace listings to get copies of both zodiacal and the equinox recolor. On the other side of the spectrum I got super lucky I managed to get not one but two copies of nano c from lake kindred rigs, dont remember wich one tho but it saved me from even thinking attempting to get a copy via alchemy.
The only evolving item I dont own yet is anima adamantea, even crafting an alchemized copy is nearly impossible due of the unavailability of one of its key ei components (that I have but I'm not using it for alchemy because, again, the listings are nonexistant and the rare ones are incredibly expensive).

~Fremere's Guard was pretty neat, and I loved Josie's Journey. The colors used and the variety/uniqueness of poses was all really fun to watch grow. Agape is, of course, still one of the biggest revolutions. The hair cutter was one of the greatest item inventions to come out! Almost every wig became doubly useful, and all of the little extras thrown in after, like color changes and hair actually becoming a different style or even longer were neat to find while testing on each new hairstyle that came out.~
