Without our mothers, we literally wouldn't exist; they gave birth to us, nurtured us and (if we're lucky) helped shape us into who we are. And though the NPCs are born from the minds of the artists (some of whom are moms themselves) their mothers still help shape their story. So without further ado, I'd like to know your favorite NPC mothers. Are there some that inspired you? (I thought Rosalie was very brave.) Some you'd like to know more about? And what advice do you have for new mom Vanessa?

Personally, my favorite NPC mom is Vanessa.
(but if you ask Astrid it's totally Rosalie.)

We do have a number of NPC mothers, but unfortunately none of them get touched on much. Sure sometimes we'll have a little something about Ruby raising Peyo or Agatha's previous relationship with Logan. And we did get that one RIG about Vanessa telling little Violet a bedtime story. We've learned a bit about Rosalie and how kind she was, and Mother being the leader of the Zurg. Honestly (thankfully) all of the mothers in Gaia canon seem like pretty ideal parents.

Honestly, I'd love to see the relationships between the mothers and children more in-depth. How would Rosalie have been if she hadn't been taken so quickly into her children's lives? How does Ruby help Peyo with his schoolwork? What is Agatha's relationship like with Mirai?

Astrid's a mama, has been since she was 14. Not recommended.

She's not sure what advice she could give to Vanessa given that their circumstances are... different. But one thing she could share is that there's absolutely no predicting how things will go with children. Complete preparation for motherhood is a myth. There's no book or video or mommy blog that will prepare you for everything; Moo Moo constantly surprises Astrid with his intellect or what chaos he can bring to any situation. Even Mother and Nili often shrug in response when Astrid asks them for advice.

She assumes the same rings true for human children.
