NPC activity on Dropplr? Just what are those cats up to...

Heya GCD, long time no see. I don't usually make threads here, I know, but we're talking of something of utmeowst importance. We are here to talk about the internet's favourite thing... CATS.

You see, on the 18th of August, I made a little discovery. A new NPC had joined Gaia, a furry feline by the name of Skuz.

For those who may not be up to date with lore: Skuz is one of Rufus' friends from Gaia Daydreams, and is based on Gaia artist/developer L0cke's real cat.

Not just that, but he was posting on Dropplr?

I was not the only one who made a discovery that day, as a sharp eyed user noticed another new NPC named Kot, who just happened to also be a cat:

Kot also joined on the 18th. Strange, right? Two NPCs joining Gaia around the same time, both being cats? So I've kept my eye out for any new cat shenanigans. Turns out since then, Skuz has been more active on Dropplr.

And not just Skuz! More NPCs have been posting... and they're all cats! cat_eek Both NPC Ian's beloved pet cat Rufus and Lanzer's pet cat Waffles have started posting on Dropplr:

What could this mean? I want to know your opinions and theories on this Gaians. Spill that tea for me. ☕

Do you think this has anything to do with the upcoming summer event? Or do you think its to do with something else? (Update 09/08/2022: Summer event is live! Rufus mentions dropplr in the Gaia Adventures: Reflections minigame, so there is a confirmed connection!)

More dropplr posts have been discovered, with mentions of Bass'Ken Lake! Seems there's things lurking beneath the waters... will this have something to do with Logan's party? eek

Would be cool if it does, tho at the same time seems like an odd choice to use dropplr to spread the hype, considering its rather small userbase...

This is seriously making me reconsider installing dropplr again.

I had dropped it because of various issues and I simply wasn't using it very much.


But I looooove when any kind of [npc] interaction starts going again, it's so much fun for the community!



And one of these days I will catch up on the manga! crying


I'm biased though, my favorite NPC interactions are with Kole and Carl. cool


I mean, I think cats are cute and all, and I don't mind petting or cuddling with them IRL, but...I just prefer other animals, like dogs or snakes over cats. But I kinda get why some of this cool cats are NPCs now, haha

That is such a fun find! I would love a cat-themed event of any kind, and Rufus is my favorite NPC. Also, as the owner of an orange cat, I'm already excited about Kot and would love a Kot item.

I haven't used dropplr in a long time, I just didn't use it as much as I should've. I wouldn't mind a cat-themed event, even if it's a late summer one -- or maybe leading up to Halloween?

I gotta say, I would *love* a cat-themed event, but even just getting interaction with the NPC cats is enough to get me wanting to play around on Dropplr again! I am 100% a cat person, though, so that might not be a universal response. xd
