Hey everyone!

I want to thank you all for your ongoing feedback on the security measure that was recently put in place on accounts that have been inactive for 6 months or longer.

We want to apologize for not giving you all enough notice on this change. We try to keep you all in the loop and give you plenty of notice on issues coming down the pipe, but being human, we sometimes we miss the mark. We're so sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Certainly, while we want to try and protect your accounts and items, it is not our intent to cause you frustration or grief.

After having listened to you on this matter, and the fact that many of you said you wished that you had been given more time to be able to login to your accounts so you could avoid having them blocked, we've gone ahead and set the lock time back to 1 year, at least until this system is more established. What this means is that for accounts that were not logged into before the lock time was moved back from 6 months to one year yesterday evening, you will currently not experience the block and can login again to make sure the account is currently active. Eventually, once the initial feature is more established, we'll be reverting the time to 6 months of inactivity, but for now, this will give the majority of active members the ability to login to your accounts and make sure they are active without having to file a help ticket.

For those of you who haven't logged into your account in a year or more, you'll still need to file a ticket to get help, but we have a special queue for these tickets and are resolving them really quickly. By the way, just so everyone knows, we've had these verification questions and account recovery procedures in place for a few years now. This new security measure is just a tweak to that system to help us provide better account security and to be able to resolve recovery issues more quickly.

Hope this helps! biggrin
