A father has no say in an abortion, because he dosen't carry the fetus. Yes, it's half his genes, however, in my opinion, until he can carry the fetus, he shouldn't be able to stop the woman from aborting the child. I say this, and I want to become a father one day.

And to add, if a fetus is not legally allowed to trump the mother's bodily integrity for its own life, why on earth should someone else be able to because of something they want? gonk

Basically. It's completely and utterly selfish to force a woman to have a child she dosen't want just because a man wants the child.

In my opinion, if a man wants his seed that badly, he should find a surrogate mother willing to take it.
I know they're out there, I've talked with them on this very site before. x_x

You cannot stop women from getting abortions. You can stop them from getting safe, legal abortions, however. This only causes the loss of more sentient people, and cause severe harm for a fetus that the abortion doesn't kill when it is born.

Simply, it is none of your business what I do with my body.

Agreed. To get a child without a mother, I wouldn't even go for a surrogate mother at first. I'd adopt a child.

Note that these texts are skewed, you must read the complete passages for what they are worth. There ar ethings that led up to the events. They take things and give you mere fragments so that bible bashers can skew things. The media does it all the time to all kinds of people.

That is true; the Bible is often taken out of context. But then, why should your god be any different to different people in different contexts? I mean, besides the fact that the Bible is kind of like a really old version of Jekyll and Hyde. Rape is rape. Why do you think they wanted virgins?

They wanted virgins because Virgins are pure, and they wanted to spread thier own children. Increase thier Geneology. They want to have their bloodline walk the earth. Not their enemies. They want to kill all the women and children because these people can continue onward and seek out revenge. Children remember things that happen to them, and will hold it against these people.

So slaughter all the children and then make -cough- the women bear our children. All in the name of God of course, in whose eyes all are equal and worthy of life and all that good stuff. You aren't contradicting yourself at all.

I know this is off-topic; I just wanted to say that "asexual" is probably technically a completely incorrect label for your group. It's completely off-topic and a whole other debate in itself, but I just wanted to point out that his skepticism was not completely unjustified, fact aside that he probably meant to chastise you.

Anywho, I'm pro-life and very proud of it. I've been that way for only a year, and before that i was very much pro-choice untill I started to go out with my b/f... I leared a lot of things that made me very inbetween because I couldnt' exactly say I was pro-life.. about a month later I did a 6 minute speech on abortion. I picked up this little book that gave both sides of the fight.. and thats when I truely relized how terrible it was. These where the raw facts from both sides and some of those stories made me cry for days. I couldn't belive I ever supported pro-choice, especially after seeing stuff on gaia.. everyone seems so proud about being able to killing their own children.. it's sick.

I am Pro-Choice, all the way. I mean, think of this. Let's say you have sex with your boyfriend. You get pregnant. You don't want the child. You get an abortion. I mean, you could just pretend you never got pregnant at all, because each time you have sex, is that killing a life, too, just because you didn't succeed in conceiving a child? I mean, you could just PRETEND you never got pregnant at all. biggrin

I cannot argue with what is that's just who Americans happen to elect, we have a Christian majority. Is there a problem now with our beliefs?

Um, last I checked the justices of the supreme court were appointed, not elected. And they're currently being appointed by a man who lost the popular vote (He won the electoral vote) and did so under questionable conditions that I'm NOT going to touch in this thread.


So yeah, the people who sit on the supreme court bench? Little to do with popular opinion or majority really.

If you were once pro-choice I'd expect you to see the problem with the whole "KILLING CHILDREN!!" issue...

I have no eggs and/or ovaries, and I know what it's like to not have control of your body, your life, or your family planning.
In the end, not being in control of your body is scary and not right. That's what a forced pregnancy is -- a woman's control of her body, life and family planning stolen from her.

I'm not Christian and I don't follow your beliefs, so basing laws off of one religion isn't a right thing to do. Not everyone is Christian or whatever religion.

How would you like it if I based laws off of my beliefs? (Anything, not just abortion) You wouldn't, because they would be biased.

If there are going to be laws, then the laws must be helpful to everyone.
