I am so sick of the arguement that if a woman "spreads her legs" and consents to sex, that they should be forced to carry a fetus to term. What about men?! Why is it that I never see a pro-punishment person say, "Well, the guy should have kept his d**k in his pants"? Because that's just as relevent.
Another thing they don't seem to take into account is that many young girls are pressured into having sex. Isn't the man more at fault because he pressured a young and naive girl into consenting to sex? Because she most likely wouldn't have had sex with him otherwise. Why is it that men aren't held accountable for their actions? Why is it that when a woman has sex outside of marriage, they are sluts, but when a man has sex outside marriage, they're congratulated by their friends as if it's a major conquest? It's the exact same thing. And it's not fair that women are punished for it, and a man can just walk away and forget.
And for anyone who thinks that if you can afford to get an abortion, you can afford to have a child, are you serious?!! Do you have any idea how much everything costs. An average family in the US will pay between $150,000 to $200,000 per child, up to the age of 17.

Actually, there are many species of animals that activily abort their young, and many who will kill their young even after they are born.
Rats are capable of triggering the release of a hormone that initiates abortions. Someone I talk to on another forum mentioned her experiences in breeding rats for the pet store she works for. She was having trouble with them, because they kept miscarrying, so she studied the subject to find out what was going on. It turned out that they didn't like their cagemates and were actively aborting the fetuses. She had to break them up into different cages to get them to breed successfully.
Some types of felines and primates induce abortions by eating certain toxic herbs. They have been known to do this in times when the food isn't as plentiful as it could be. They aren't starving themselves, they are just too lazy to bring their young into the world if they actually have to work hard to feed them.
Rabbits have the physical ability to abort the fetuses if there is overcrowding, if food is scarce, if the pregnant female is too young, too weak, etc.
Many species will kill their young that are already born. A cheetah will kill her own cubs if she is injured. She knows she can no longer hunt, so she chooses to kill them, rather than let a predator kill them and her. Her cubs will draw too much attention, and she knows she will not be able to defend them as well as herself, so she will kill them to save her own life.
And don't try the arguement that humans are higher beings than other animals with me. Because it won't work. I don't believe we are better than any other animal. Yes, we have knowledge, we have a conscious, but that doesn't matter. Humans are probably the worst thing to happen to this planet. We have caused more damage than any other species on this planet. We have caused extinction of thousands of species of animals. We have caused so much damage through pollution that it's probably irreparable.
And will you stop with the whole murder thing. Abortion is NOT murder. Murder is a legal term. It defines the UNLAWFUL killing of another person. Abortion is not unlawful, so therefore, it is not murder.
