I'm excited to introduce you all to one of our newest (but not unfamiliar) shopkeepers! Lex from the recently revamped Back Alley Bargains is here! You may recall running into this friendly fellow at Gold Mountain Casino, where he spent his days living the high life on the lovely Isle de Gambino. Recently, Lex obtained the rights to run Back Alley Bargains as a special representative of Gold Mountain, due to the previous owner's, erm, various debts. Now he lives in a cart behind the supermarket, but still our Lex maintains that bright smile and charming wit he's always been known for. I'm lucky enough to have him in the studio today, so let's see what's new.

Welcome, Lex! It's great to have you here today.
Thanks Cindy. Great to be here. You've got a lot of room in this place. Ever think about renting it out? Turns out a guy can actually live pretty comfortably in just a tiny little horse-drawn cart.

What can you tell us about the new- and hopefully improved- Back Alley Bargains?
Well, it's still a cart. A cart and a horse. Smelly cart. Rude horse. That sums it up pretty well. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of things going for the place now that I've started sprucing it up, but at the core it's important to remember that I was put in charge of a horse and a cart.

What kind of sprucing have you been doing, Lex? Your fans are dying to know!
Well, it took a while to get all the various contraband and useless knicknacks out of the place, but now Back Alley Bargains-- or the BAB, as I call it-- is looking pretty great! I'm actually thinking about adding a few mods to the cart. I mean, can you imagine this thing with a sick neon underglow, or maybe some spinning rims? Totally premium, right?

Any other news from the BAB? I hear you've been stocking some mysterious new items!
Of course! I may not be on the Casino's direct payroll anymore, but Gold Mountain's gambling fun doesn't stop there-- now you can buy these nifty Kicopot cards from Back Alley Bargains with your gold and use 'em to win tons of free Gaia Cash! They're not always in the shop, and the supply I have is a little unpredictable, but if you're one of the lucky ones to get a hold of these when they appear, you've got a great shot of winning it big. Ah, but look at me, sounding like a billboard. Heh. What I really want to plug is that karaoke night is totally a go! Come to the cart every Tuesday night after eight for half-price impulse weddings performed by the world's best rockstar impersonator, and a karaoke machine with over six thousand unique tracks!

    Incredible! Six thousand tracks?
Well, maybe I'm rounding up some. The point is: Come to Back Alley Bargains! I'm getting a little stir crazy stuck at this place all alone. Well, if you don't count Capella. We've started talking a lot. It's a bit one-sided because I'm just a regular dude who likes gold and music and she's an alarmingly disobedient chain-smoking pony, but we get along okay. I'd really like it if you Gaians stopped by more often!

Your plea has been heard, Lex. I'm sure Gaians are rushing to Back Alley Bargains as we speak! Any final farewells before we wrap this up?
Remember: Karaoke night is on Tuesday! It's BYOT, BYOC, and BYOA. That's Bring Your Own Table, Bring Your Own Chair, and Bring Your Own Alfalfa--- the horse doesn't share. I can't wait to see you around the cart, everyone!

To visit Lex and return a little of that misplaced sanity he's after, all you need to do is take a quick trip over to Back Alley Bargains. And if you enjoyed this Community Update, you can lend a hand to making the next one even better! Please don't forget to visit the Community Update Thread to vote in our poll and suggest some aspects of Gaia to feature in an upcoming Community Update! Your post might be randomly selected to win our Shout Out Contest and you will get the chance to have a one sentence quote included in a future Community Update! Use it to plug a thread, organization, or just to say hi! Until next time, Gaians: This is Cindy Donovinh, your intrepid reporter, signing out
