Sorry guys, i wasn't sure if i answered correctly lol...
here's the question: In 1903, the Symphony Hall in Cleveland was to be dedicated. The musical director there wanted a famous musician to dedicate the hall. Joachim was one of his choices, but turned down the invitation. Why and which famous composer end up getting dedicated the hall?

I checked and everywhere I find out that the symphony hall in Cleveland was built around 1920. Could you elaborate? Maybe it's not really a famous symphony hall? In fact the orchestra was founded in 1918...

if you would like, i can post out the answer and you guys can go alone with Amphion's question
Not having heard anything for a few days, I'm going to go ahead and re-post:

Which symphony by an English composer was inspired by music they had recently composed for a film? (Giving the composer would make the answer absurdly easy to find)
I'm gonna take a guess, Malcolm Arnold's 8th symphony?

Hmm.... I suppose it technically counts, but it's not what I had in mind. This symphony is named, in part, after the subject of the film. (That's a hint, by the by; this composer loved to name his symphonies)
How about Ralph Vaughan William's 7th Symphony. I believe that it is nicknamed the Sinfonia Arctica, or something of the like, and it was used for some sort of heroic, snow-themed movie...

If I'm correct...

What is the difference in the way that Chopin arranged his Preludes in comparison to Bach's Preludes and Fugues from The Well Tempered Klavier?
Yes! Ralph Vaughan Williams named his 7th Symphony the Sinfonia Antarctica because most of the music in it came from a movie about the Shackleton Expedition to Antarctica that he had just scored.

(I know the answer to yours, but I'm going to wait a day or two to see if anyone else can get it...)

Invisible Fairy

Don't have to look this one up. XD Chopin's etudes are arranged in circle of fifths, while Bach's preludes and fugues are in chromatic order.

How did Saint-Saens and Faure first meet?
Did they meet at the Ecole Niedermeyer, with Faure as a student and Saint-Saens as his teacher?

What is the opus number of Chopin's Nocturnes in C minor (not the posthumous one!) and F sharp minor?

Invisible Fairy

Opus 48 No. 1 & 2, respectively.

In the middle section of what piano piece by Debussy did the composer make fun of Wagner?
That would be Golliwogg's Cake Walk from Children's Corner!

At which prestigious music school did Gustav Holst study?
He studied at the Royal College of Music in London.

Although their dates of birth are separated by more than 220 years, both of these composers wrote a cycle of preludes and fugues for the piano. In addition to this, both composers had four-note "motto" themes that represented their names encoded in musical notation. Name the composers.
