Gaians Against God-Modders

Aren't we tired of joining roleplays, tournaments with RPC's and just arguing over who's imaginary character is stronger? School roleplays and Romance roleplays are all fun, but a lot of us love the actions of fantasy roleplays where we can battle with magic or ninja roleplays where we can sneak up and assassinate targets.

How do you stop God-Modding? Is there anyway to moderate our writings filled with whimsical attacks?

Let's discuss ways to prevent god-modding. Help roleplay creators set rules within their own realms to moderate our beautifully written fights and to prevent 'unbeatable' characters. Feel free to share guilds in which you have found that support moderated fights. You can even discuss game system that involve the ultimate stopper to god-modders; D20.

Shimagakure: The First Hidden Village

Come join a roleplay set before the time of Naruto, before the creation of the Hidden Villages. Create a clan from the series, from your own thoughts or join an existing clan. Fight Samurai, seal demons, begin wars, massacre cities and create your own hidden village. Start your story at Shimagakure, a literate roleplay with a balanced game system. Hope to see you soon!
I honestly don't think there is any way to moderate rp fights without a game system. Anyone care to try and prove my thoughts wrong?

Hunter

It isn't impossible to moderate rp fights without a game system. The work is just placed in different place. In a game system the work is put into the system so when the fights occur there is no need to have a discrepancy. There is factual information with stats as to why a person lost. In an rp without a game system the work is put in with each battle. As to how it is tallied differs from guild to guild, but I know a few rank fights based on writing quality, environmental factors on the battlefield, how well you can make the fight interesting, how true to the character is the fight, the abilities the characters use and if it isn't far out of their possibility. Such things are used instead, but of course the fights need to be monitored more in a guild without a game system.
So, whoever is the better writer will win the fight? That is how a pure writing fight is decided?

Hunter

That is not all of it as many of these guilds have their own quirks, but that is for the most of it. The better your writing skills and ability to make a captivating story which can draw the readers in the more likely you are to succeed in a battle. That in itself brings its own problems, but from what I have seen this is how they function. In terms of moderating a battle, it is not too bad of an idea.
oh, man. i used to be in those writing-based tournaments that would sprout out all over the place. it was filled with so much argument. i couldn't stand it. i thought d20 was gay and for really nerdy people.
>.>
but now i love how its incorporated into shima lol i can't imagine fighting without it.

oh, hey shuga. i messaged another guild that's really against god modding to join your discussion.
Thanks, Lulu!! heart That would take some dedicated moderators, Katz.
LMFAO! I'm actually gonna write my English paper on this topic, Shuga. Thanks! I hope more people join and share the opinion.

Why doesn't everyone use Dice?
Why are people scared of D20!?

Hunter

5huga: It takes dedicated moderators for any guild.

Baylu: Quite possibly because math is involved. I'm guessing that because it is something that people have to read over and isn't something just as simple as other things. That and as you said there is the stigma that it is nerdy and geekish.
lol yea that too. but if they're in shima, they have us awesome crew members to help them with math. i'm pretty much eifer's calculator xd
Should it be spelled "God-Moders"?
"God-Modders" would be from the base "God-Mod".
But "God-Moders" would be from the base "God-Mode".
