05.29.12:: The thread has been renovated and we are starting fresh.There are a few things that have been changed, besides the layout, if you haven't noticed.
The battle arena is being redoing and is currently "crew only". "Customs" are now open in the form of a "Quest Fairy" type setting, so please go to the quest area and read up on the new rules. The shop is no longer RP required, though RP is now required to grow/advance, so go to the Front Desk and read up on that.

Basic. .Rules
o1// The number one rule to follow in the thread and guild is easy; listen to the head staff. Whatever we say is law, and must be obeyed with no back talk, ifs, ands, or buts. If you cause trouble, there will be punishment involved and we will not hesitate to kick you out and ban you from the thread and guild.

You are not wolverine; you cannot magically heal in 3 seconds and kill your opponent in two of those healing seconds. You are not some super human karate master who can dodge and take everything that is thrown at you. Please, in this unrealistic world, be realistic here.
o4// Please try to have a posting color- nothing blinding!- for all your characters, or some symbol to make it easy to identify whom you are RPing at the time, especially if you have multiple characters. However, we understand people can get lazy.

They are like the Gods of the Asylum, and we know the limits and not to go over board with them. Supporting Staff are allowed 3 to 5 powers since they are in charge of watching the patients and keeping them in line. Patients have a cap of 2 powers.
o2// Do note, we have every right to alter or deny a character's power if we feel it is too much, or too broad.
o3// Please, no God like powers. No, you can not instantly mind control everyone you meet. No, you can not instantly read someone's mind or blow up the universe. Limit yourself here and think carefully.

The Asylum had not always been the run down house of horrors that it is today. Once, it was a grand castle and home to a kind royal family. The royal family treated its people like the human beings that they were, and did everything they could to ensure that their kingdom stayed safe and its people happy. Such treatment towards the common folk caused jealousy to sprout within the people of other lands. 
Jealousy that festered and grew until its vines spread across the land, and into the very kingdom. Lies were hissed into the ears of any who would listen. Lies that spoke of treasures that the royal family sought to keep as its own, or of special vaccines that kept them strong and healthy.
One man poked and prodded until the feelings of betrayal conjured from the lies grew into a mighty force. Then, he led the people in a rebellion against the royal family. They stormed the castle, painting the floor and walls with the blood of the family. None were left alive.
When they finally came down from their anger, the people realized their mistake. There were no hidden treasures or riches, nor were their vaccines or any other form of secret medical drugs. They had been deceived, and innocent lives had paid for their naiveté. They sought to turn their anger on the man who had led them, but he had simply vanished. Not a trace of him could be found.
Sensing the weakness of the now fallen kingdom, others swooped in like hungry vultures, warring over the carcass that remained of a once strong kingdom. Crops were laid to waste, towns destroyed, and numerous lives lost. The people blamed none but themselves, for surely it was their fault that such a curse had befallen their land.
Time passed, war ended, destroyed land was once more given life, and towns were reconstructed. Life moved on, but not without remembering the past. The once grand castle that had housed the royal family fell to ruin as none would dare to enter its gates for fear the curse would reawaken.

Common. .Areas
Outter area
As you gaze out at the Asylum's ground, you can only dream of how they must have once looked. Once, the grass must have been a vibrant shade of healthy green, and leaves, or flowers, must have sprouted from the branches of the now mostly dead trees. If you were to step outside, the brown prickly grass would crunch beneath your feet. And you would be unable to wander far, for the large wall that surrounds the Asylum's ground would block your path. Venture to close, and the guards patrolling the wall will fire at you. And the rarely miss.
Entrance way
You stare up at the large wooden doors that had once held a proud and beautiful gleam, left now as scarred and battered shadows of what they once were. As you approach, the doors give a loud creak, pushed open so that the gazes of the doomed can watch you. And welcome you.
Hallways
Your footsteps echo down the empty halls as you enter the fortress like building. I know it seems like you’re alone, but don’t worry, you aren’t. The other patients are hiding, watching. Best not to do anything to startle them, don’t want to give them any reason to hurt you. As you walk along you take in the ruined hallways where wallpaper and tiles are stripped and torn out of place. Cracks, dried blood and graffiti pain the walls as the lights flicker on and off every now and then which just enhances the silence and eerie air. You just best pray the lights keep life or else you will find what hides in the shadows.
Stairways
The stair ways are no better than the hallways themselves. If you through the screams and echos were bad in the hallway, just wait until you here them in the stairways. These stair lead to all levels of the building, and always seem to go on forever. However, there is ONE place they will never lead to, and that area is really none of your business unless you are "invited" there...
Basement
The basement is a mostly deserted areas of the Asylum. The walls are lined with white bricks strained with red, and the pipes that line the ceiling seem to moan and erupt with anger. If you ever go down there it is best to bring a partner and a flashlight, and maybe a small prayer. This is also the area where you will find washing machines. However, most of the machines are run down and no longer in use, and those that are seem to be coin activated. You best hope you can find some coins, or know how to work a screwdriver, if you can even find one.
Cage Room
It's basically a building, full of cages, that sits a few miles away from the main building. Why? Well it is where those whom get on the Doctors' and staff bad side get sent. You will be given no bed, no food, no anything. You will be stripped to your undergarments and thrown in a cage until you learn your lesson.

First. .Floor
Cafeteria
I know, disgusting isn't it? A room that would never be allowed to house food, let alone have people sit and eat in it. The tables are falling apart and you know that cushioning under your feet? That's not carpet, it's dust and hair that have settled over the wooden floor. And that black smear on that table over there? It used to be ketchup.
The buffet lining the back wall houses what passes for food for the patients, most staffers can't be bothered to cook up anything grand or follow health codes.
Courtyard
A little piece of heave in this bleak existence. Can't you just smell all that vegetation in the air? Take a deep breath and enjoy it. If you feel like resting, go ahead and squat down in the shade of one of the trees. This area is monitored by the grounds keepers, as long as you respect the plants, you will be allowed to visit. Should you ever forget your way, remember to just heads towards the center of the Asylum. You'll be sure to find it. Just remember, stay away from the grounds keeper's shed and the lake that sits in the center of the courtyard. Why? Well it seems that the grounds keeper likes to keep his pet piranhas and gators in there.
The Gym
Need to blow off a little steam, or train for an upcoming battle? Well then the gym is your place to go, though you won't find any modern systems in there. A few jump ropes thrown here, a few bars hung there, and waits resting over there. That is the most you will find. If you're lucky you might find a way to get one of the old treadmills and cycles working, or maybe even find all the pieces of the bench press among the pile of equipment sitting in a corner of the room.
The Library
This is surely one of the rooms that doesn't get a lot of attention, and maybe even one of the most well preserved rooms in the building, besides the rooms restricted to staff anyway. Rows and rows of towering book shelves line the expansion of this room, however it is clear to see some of the shelves have been picked clean by some of the staff for their own purposes. Still, there is more than enough books to keep anyone entertained.

Bathrooms
Most rooms have their own bathroom, the small showers are rarely in working order, though some don't work. Pray that you end up with a room with at least a working toilet, for the public toilets are a thing to fear. I can't recall the last time they were cleaned.
Bedrooms
Doors line the halls. Doors that could be used to lock misbehaving patients in their room, or to keep certain activities from prying eyes. One of these many rooms will become yours, and chances are that you’ll share it with a room mate. Try not to get stabbed please.
There is nothing special about these rooms. Room colors are basically random. The rooms are big enough to fit one or two. You might get a shelf or drawer, but nothing is guaranteed. Your bed is a simple metal spring one. If you are lucky your bedroom MIGHT have a bared off window. If you are even luckier your bed will come with a mattress. If not, good luck stealing one from someone, or finding a staff member whom will give you one.

Restriced. .Areas
Catacombs
As you approach the steps to head up to the main floor, faint screams can be heard echoing down the halls. It’s best to just ignore those. Rumor is that there are catacombs deep beneath the castle, and that the doctors like to use them for their… experiments. No patient has yet dared to try and prove these rumors false or true, and it’s best for you to do the same. After all, if the rumors are true, then the smart thing to do is avoid the catacombs. Only a crazy person would go down there.
Anything from the 5th floor and above is restricted to staff only. Those floors are used for staff offices as well as staff dorms.
For staff character notice:
- Staff dorms are very well kept and decorated.
- All dorms have running water and electricity.
- All staff floors have a community kitchen and modern gym.
- If a staff member ever needs to order something in please contact Jazz.

Child/Pre-Teen
[Only obtainable through special sales]
Well look what we have here; it's a free spirited child who wants to run around the asylum without a single care in the world. Aw, isn't innocence a magical thing? Too bad that the asylum is full of people who are more than willing to feed on and twist a child's innocence to their advantage. If you are responsible for a child then you best keep a tight leash on them, especially when staff and the doctors are around.
No one knows why someone would be so cold-hearted and throw a child in to a place like The Asylum, but it's too late to send them back now. If a child is smart enough, and has enough determination then they will survive. If not, then they best hope someone is willing to take them in and care for them.

Teen
Congratulations, your child lived long enough to be a hormonal teenager! Sadly, they're fair game now. It won't be long before they meet the doctor's slab, or find out what it really means to survive in the Asylum.
Teens are also a common sight when a new group of patients enter. Lucky for them though that the Doctors don't pay them too much mind, at least not until the Docs get a feel for what makes them tick.

Newly Admitted
Fresh Meat. A status given to the lowest of ranks. While children and teens might be considered "untouchable" by some [those whom actually have morals], once a patient has this status on their back then they are free game as far anyone else is concerned. New patients, those whom are of legal age and are fully and newly admitted to the building, best work hard to show they have what it takes to hold their own and survive. It is killed or be killed. Earn your respect or be beat down and spit on. Learn to live in the darkness, or be eaten whole by it.

Intermediate
What, do you think you deserve some kind of trophy or party for surviving your first few years in the asylum? Ha! As if. You have survived all the chaos, learned the ropes, maybe even learned a few secrets here and there. You've earned a few scars, maybe even some respect? If not, then you have learned to live with being some kind of rat or pest in the eyes of the others, but at least rats and pest know how to make it to the next day, right?

Veteran
These are the best of the best out of the patients. They have proven that they have what it takes to survive the Asylum. If one ever wanted to make a powerful ally, these are who you'd want. Perhaps if you're lucky, they'll teach you their ways and show you how to survive.

Doctor
[Staff and Special permission only]
The top dogs of the Asylum. When you see a doctor coming for you, you may run, but they will find you. You may fight back, but you will lose. You will end up in the table. You best just pray that you wake up once it's all over.

Staff
[Special Events and promotion only]
Just below the doctors in power, the staff are made up of: grounds keepers, guards, nurses, secretaries, chefs, and any other job we may think of. Staff members can be a patient's salvation, or damnation.

A// Yes, all characters will go through the same lineart, which can be edited as customers and colorists choose to make each character unique. Just don't go so wild with customs that you kill a colorist.

How to get a character

About the Characters

A// No. The people of this world are of a wide variety. You can have a normal Asian character, a Scottish character that is a cat boy, a dragon girl, ghost guy, whatever colorists play around with or accept through customs.

How to get on: We have to love you lots~ <3
How to get off: WHAT!? You don’t love us!? ;A;

How to get on: Breaking the rules, being a general annoyance, being disrespectful, not listening to warnings, pissing off staff, ect.
What happens: We will send you a PM with a clear statement of your offences and why you have been added. Everything we list is what got you on the list, nothing more, nothing less. When listed your offences will not be posted, so do not worry. If you get pissy with us about the matter you can earn yourself a promotion to the black list, so please keep your temper in check.
What is gets you: From that point on you may not obtain any characters/grams/gifts/ect in ANY manner.
How to get off: Improvement in behavior.

Black list
How to get on: Multiple trips to the Grey List, intolerable behavior, a GIANT break of the rules/multiple rules in a short sitting, pissing off staff to the max, ect ect. You basically make us want to kick innocent kitties. D:

What it gets you: From that point on you may not obtain any pets/grams/gifts/ect in ANY manner. All the characters you own will be marked as dead and or rehomed as needed. You will not be able to post in the shop anymore or participate in anything.
How to get off: Not going to happen unless a miracle is upon you.
