Saeldur, my first, will be ending his story, along with Gren, Dlouhe ceste, and Judas . I'm debating adding Leslie and Asiavik to this group. I'll be offering Faye, Ligeia, and Rivqah up for new homes.
I used to do that a lot back in the day xD it was entertaining. I'm tempted to switch to a male base again. HOW ARE YOU?!
IT GOES! watching the pokemon tournament, working a paying job while I look for an actual career job tomorrow. RPing over at the other place, prepping for the next growth state.
AYE, yep. He just wants them... randomly placed for aesthetic reasons, having said he's "very artistic." I feel bad for the graphic designer, though I don't know who they are.
Edit: Meant AESTHETIC reasons... This is what I get for posting from my damn auto correct phone while cooking. QQ *marches back to PC for announcements*
TiH? And yay paying job! At least make money while dealing with other people's bs lol *lays on* I'm thinking of visiting you next spring. We'll see how things play out.
For those not yet aware, this month is as much for staff to make sure everything is in order as it is for players to prepare their wolves for the move / familiarize themselves with the new world. This includes things like handling feedback and looking over threads for errors we were blind to after working on them for so long. On that note, we have made some changes:
META / ORP SIGN UPS
For anyone who missed it, we are soon to test a new system that gets players more involved with each other / helps newbies get their foot in the door of the shop. This will consist of mini-ORPs that are set up with a specific scenario. These will range from starting metaplots to just fun little extras to help promote interaction and relationships amongst characters. These RPs will be invite only in order to provide individual attention to players and will range from one to five players maximum (not counting the staff member running it, who for the time being will always be Hope via the mule until we have the system perfected).
We had originally said to PM Hope, then the mule, but as the list is getting long we are moving sign ups to this thread. This is open for posting now, though the RPs will not start until September.
This is an in-progress endeavor so please treat it as a beta test. More than likely there will be some road bumps as we work it out.
"NPCs" LIST
Rather than keep these "shop" characters in personal journals where people have to dig for them, we have set up a future NPC thread. This will also detail what exactly an NPC is in Tolas.
INFORMATION CLARITY AND RULE CHANGES
[1] We clarified some conflicting information in the "Starting Quests" post of the seer/shaman thread. It stated quests could take as long as the player wanted then went on to say that sought after shaman domains had something of time limit. This was simply because we added one after the fact and forgot to edit the opposing information.
This now reads:
To start a quest OOCly, please post the following form in this thread. Your Shaoilin character must have either rolled or be of the appropriate mindset for pursuing a seer’s or shaman’s powers. You may only start one quest a year. (Ex: Jane wants her wolf Fluffy to be a shaman, but Smoochikins rolls for seer potential as a puppy. Jane decides to follow through on Smoochikins' seer potential, which means Fluffy cannot begin his shaman quest until a year from the date Smoochikins was posted to start his quest).
Seers can take as long as they'd like to complete their quest. Shamans, due to having domains, work a bit differently. If you're gone from the shop for a period of six months or if you're obviously making no progress toward your quest, we will contact you about it. In general, quests can take a maximum of one year to complete before we allow others to try for the same domain. This is to prevent people from claiming big domains (Water, Fire, etc.) just to keep other people from having them and then vanishing.
[2] A power section has been added to the shaman/seer quest form for the shamans. This is mostly to save time as opposed to us having to ask each person individually when they choose "Broad" or "Obscure" domains.
[3] On that note, there was a lot of discussion with a few people over shaman domains / powers. Although these were mostly Telk wolves people just wanted to fit in better with the new setting, note again Telk shaman are grandfathered in as is if you so choose. This pertains to Tolas shaman and has been added to the "Domains and Powers" post to help clarify domain limitations, powers, and so forth:
SHAMAN DOMAINS AND POWERS
Obtaining powers: Upon entering a quest for a shaman, we ask that you give us a general idea of what powers you plan on using. There is no cap on how many specific abilities a shaman can have and you don't need to think up fancy names or descriptions if you'd rather keep it simple. Since all shaman have healing abilities, you also don't need to specify this as a power unless for some reason you feel it relevant ("My shaman is Birds and she can only heal using feathers," so on).
If you later decide you want to add powers that weren't listed originally, either because you didn't think of them at the time or your shaman got the idea through RP to learn this new skill, this is permissible. In this case, please post the following form in this thread:
POWER UP!
Shaman Name: Include image, please!
New Power:

The mule will quote you to confirm this has been accepted.
Obtaining "Broad" Domains: Broad Domains -- sometimes called Vast Domains or Parent Domains -- are shaman domains that encompass things like an entire element, such as Water, or an entire terrain, such as Mountain.
These domains will sometimes be stronger than more narrow domains (such as Bubbles for Water or Rock/Stone for Mountain), but should not be substantially so, especially not to the point of crippling the viability of "narrow domain" shaman. As a general rule of thumb, these shamans should at best be jack of all trades, master of none, when it comes to domains like Fire, Water, etc. A Water shaman shouldn't be controlling mist swiftly as Shaman of Mist; Fire shouldn't be able to manipulate the smoke his/her flames create with the same proficiency as Shaman of Smoke.
In the event a shaman's domain is an area (ex: Mountain), they are not permitted to control every location like this on the map, but must attune themselves to a specific place.
For example, the Tolas Shaman of Mountains can be found in the Mountain Guard sleuth (of bears), which as you've probably guessed, dwell in the mountains. While he is able to manipulate the mountain he lives in, he would not be able to go around Tolas controlling/manipulating every mountain range to cave in, crush, or otherwise destroy any groups living there.
Because these are case-by-case situations, we will address them as such and work with you to find a range of powers you're happy with while still seeking to not diminish the value of other domains. Note some powers will still overlap and this is perfectly fine, we simply aim to make sure everyone gets their turn at standing out.
Obtaining Obscure Domains: "Obscure" Domains are things like Revenge, Hate, Love, and so on. Like Broad Domains (see above), these can overlap Narrow Domains -- Love can overlap Friendship, Motherhood, etc. as love comes in many forms, for example. Essentially the information in Broad Domains applies here.
[4] We clarified some stuff in the Breeding Guide to be more clear:
1 - "Each colorist will alternate who takes on breedings" now reads "Colorists will sign up for breedings the following round a month in advance (if the raffle is in March, sign up in February) and participation will vary month to month based on their RL schedule and their current workload within the shop. Each will roll a minimum of one breeding, but may roll for as many as they'd like."
2 - "All proceeds from the auction will be added to the joint SW funds pool" now reads "All proceeds from the auction will be used for giveaways in thread games." Originally, we had planned to make a "bank" for SW to distribute gold to the few folks who aren't already Gaia billionaires for customs and breeding fees; however, while we were in the process of this, the Daily Chance gold amount was increased. Due to prices remaining low, just using that should suffice, so we axed this idea.
3 - The rules post specified that wolves could not breed until three months after their last breeding win and then went on to say that wolves could not breed until their last litter was adolescent. As pup - > adol has a three to four month wait time, we have changed this information to simply say a wolf must wait until their last litter is adolescence, thereby ensuring a minimum three month wait regardless.
Although there have been issues in the past with litters taking a long time to grow, something that might make people wary of this system, we have new rules in place that a colorist has to do their work within an allotted amount of time or a) be put on probation for a month to catch up (unable to take bribes, etc. until their work is done) and b) surrender their work to another colorist if this month passes without the work being done.
The absolute maximum wait time from here on out is five months, period. If someone is forced to wait that extra month for growings we will permit them to enter breeding raffles while they wait.
[5] The rule that breeding RPs must be within a year of the breeding event in question has been removed. RPs now have no expiration date.
[6] There is now an "RP Announcement" post on the front page. This will be used for RP-related updates, like parts of the map changing, map expansion, disbanded packs, and similar things so that everyone has this information easily available (especially those who are just joining or have come back from hiatus).
We would like to thank everyone for being almost entirely constructive across the board in their feedback and questions. As always, we are open to hearing your thoughts/questions on things, but please be courteous to others as you would like them to be to you when contacting any member of staff.
