Entry: Listening to the voices, she finally agreed to walk to Never Idle's place. They told her the item draped along her neck and back would be perfect for him. With quiet steps, Twilight moved to speak to the stag. Her head dipped in a greeting, "This is for you, found along and on Riverbank." The blue scales shimmered as she moved to take it off. "He was kind enough to give me some of his scales, the best in his opinion." For once, she was at a loss for words as the spirits around her attempted to help. Shaking her head, the claws rattled. The doe forgot about them for a bit. "Also the claws of caiman and pangolin, holding the scales in place." With a soft bite, Twilight lifted the item off her back and scales, setting it down in the greens for the older male to look upon it.

Entry: Upon his neck was a group of white and blue flowers, each found on his way to the swamp. The seeds he had picked up in his tail, sprouted seedlings once he found a den and shook off the dust and dirt from his run. With some help, Night Tears made the flowers weave between bones of the small. It wasn't much, but it was better than nothing. Racing to see Never Idle, the red buck looked funny. "Never Idle, I brought you these." His body was posed for disappointment, to be told he was too late when he called out to the legendary. His eyes spotted the masks were still there and he sighed, letting the necklace slide over his face to the ground. It wasn't as nice as when he had left. Now flowers were poking out of eye sockets and stems unwound from their places. "I collected the flowers from my den area. They came from home, brought with me with the Ache. The bones collected all over."

Entry: Always striving for the best but cursed with nonexistant execution skills, thus was the infamous Hemlock! Grand plans, shitty luck. Striving for desert domination, she and her merry grotesque band of misfits were laughed out for their hilariously failed attempts. Now she took on the swamp. Life was a nevending story of persistance and joy. This was just another adventure. Maybe with this mask she would be more scary and threatening.

Having confidence in spades, she pranced up to Never Idle and posed. Lavender hair artfully falling to one side, she looked out from under the waterfall and winked coquettishly. She continued her choreograph, making sure sunlight hit all angles of the gold-glittered, luscious locks. With a purposeful shake of her head, all spectators were utterly aghast to see her hair fly off and land at Never Idle's feet with a heavy thud.

"I'm offering you this gorgeous mane."

Hemlock was totally oblivious to the creepiness factor of toting around a surprisingly perfectly preserved scalp. This was a complete horror show.

Entry: Legendaries were odd beings who walked paths not open to the rest. Applying an old hunting adage, "To catch a fish you must think like a fish," Count the Stars tried to think like a legendary to get an idea on what to offer. What few she ran into, they all spoke in secret rhymes and broken reason. To achieve the enlightened state, she consumed mind altering plants. Except Count the Stars didn't understand that to enter the realm of otherworldness, you were basically poisoning yourself. Heaving and hawing, she emptied the contents of her stomach, but not before the effects took place. Delirious, she went on a journey of self-discovery hell. She emerged hours later atop a tree branch with a half eaten bird her only companion. Not too sure if she was the one who had been munching on it, she kicked it out of the tree before skidding down the trunk. Bark stuck to her rump, her mane catching on moss, nuts and sticks. She wasn't exactly sure what the gunk on her precious tail was.

She was over it.

Marching over to the stag, she dropped her leafbound parcel, spilling forth the aforementioned plants. "I'll leave the swamp's mysteries to you. Stars are a lot less dangerous."

Entry:The bright Acha approched the Elder humbly. The reputation of Never's adorments were well known all over the swamp, and though she had already beautiful flowers woven in her hair, she wanted something different. Something to stand out among all the other acha, to be admired and talked about, and something crafted by the Elder's paws and hooves was exactly the thing to have.

But he required a gift.

The doe set down a turtle's shell. The inside of the shell had not been cleaned out and smoothed by hooves and rocks, as often was the case when presenting such a thing as a gift. Instead the small pockets where the ribs and spine of the animal once were, and each pocket was filled with colorful and slightly shining flakes.

"These.." Jewel said, using her danity hoof to point to the flakes inside, "are the remains of the shells that my kind hatch from. Acha eggs are quite beautiful you know." Her voice was full of pride. "But after we hatch, these shells are often discarded or kicked away. The more clever of us however, use these shells to make us and our homes more beautiful. We grind these flakes into powders and mix many colors out of them. Then we add a little water or spit if we're not close to a oasis, and depending on the use, a few other things, and we color things with them! These are our basic colors, from these you can make up any color you want or even invent a few! It is my hope that you can use these to make many more beautiful things, especially for the beautiful acha!"

Not knowing exactly, what to do, Jewel made a little bow of her head, turned and skipped back to her neck of the woods. While she might not get the prize she was aiming for, perhapes she had earned a little reguard from the Elder that she may one day be able to take advantage of.

Entry: Dreameater approached the legend with shy reluctance... and a bit of an odd gait, intended to keep from dropping a large, ornate dead butterfly from where he carried it on his shoulder. It took a few tries to catch one of the crooked legs delicately between his teeth, but the strange purple kin presented the gift.

He offered it with care matching its fragile nature, though in spite of Dreameater's best efforts, the butterfly's wings still bore some tatters, and a few brilliant tiny colored scales dotted the buck's nose where he had mistakenly brushed it.

This was only half of the offering. Dreameater had a question, too:

"Why are our sleeping-dreams so much harder to remember than our naming dreams?" he asked, keeping his dull, dark eyes lowered. "Before I breathed air, I dreamt of swallowing shapes filled with brilliant scenes. Now when I dream those scenes on their own at night, I awaken feeling filled but the images themselves slip away."

The buck nodded to the butterfly. "Like the more you handle it with your mind, the more quickly the colors rub off and fade away."
