The Lab celebrates the 11th year of being an active Breedable shop! Woohoo!!
And this year we're looking to fill a hole that had been greatly vacant in the Lab's world so far...

Insect Raevans!

Yeah sure we have Anastacia and Rivener, although technically they are arachnid, not insects.
We nearly had some moth or butterfly Raevans before. But that didn't happen.
So we needed to open a new world of possibilities!

The lineart had already been done by Kyou, so that their future owners wouldn't need to wait
too long for them to grow. If they keep up and fulfill the RP requirements for growth that is. wink
So if any of them catches your fancy, feel free to participate!!

[ MANTIS ] --- Mantises are ambush predators that only feed upon live prey within their reach. They either camouflage themselves and remain stationary, waiting for prey to approach, or stalk their prey with slow, stealthy movements. Once within reach, mantises strike rapidly to grasp the prey with their spiked raptorial fore legs.

When directly threatened, many mantis species stand tall and spread their fore legs, with their wings fanning out wide. The fanning of the wings makes the mantis seem larger and more threatening, with some species enhancing this effect with bright colors and patterns on their hind wings and inner surfaces of their front legs.

Mantises were considered to have supernatural powers by early civilizations, including Ancient Greece, Ancient Egypt, and Assyria. One of the earliest mantis references is in the ancient Chinese dictionary Erya, which gives its attributes in poetry, where it represents courage and fearlessness.

[ COCKROACH ] --- The cockroaches are an ancient group, dating back at least as far as the Carboniferous period, some 320 million years ago. They are common and hardy insects, and can tolerate a wide range of environments from Arctic cold to tropical heat. Cockroaches have appeared in human culture since classical antiquity. They are popularly depicted as dirty pests, though the great majority of species are inoffensive and live in a wide range of habitats around the world.

Cockroaches are among the hardiest insects. Some species are capable of remaining active for a month without food and are able to survive on limited resources, such as the glue from the back of postage stamps. Some can go without air for 45 minutes.

Cockroaches are social insects; a large number of species are either gregarious or inclined to aggregate, and a slightly smaller number exhibit parental care.

[.02] Be aware of time constraints! Three rounds in 3 weeks gives a tight schedule, so make sure you're aware of start and end times!
[.03] All entries should be sent to the mule, Anachrophobia. PM's sent elsewhere will be ignored.
[.04] Originality is encouraged. We know when we see a familiar concept/plot that is not yours.
[.05] You may not get someone else to write your entry for you. We reserve the rights to take your Raevan away from you if we find out that your writing style differs from the contest entry.
[.06] You may only send 1 entry for each round.
[.07] Please no strange characters in your names. All RP characters including but not limited to guardians and Raevans, their names should not contain any characters that are not found on the keyboard. That means none of characters like these -> òéáß that could only be found on the character map.
[.08] Winners will have to pay a small fee in the form of a cash item with a minimum value of 499 gaia cash. Please send trade to mule Anachrophobia.
[.09] We reserve the right to change, remove or add to these rules.

[.04] Only one entry per person.
[.05] The approval is an active, on-going process. If your character is already pre-approved in the Non-Owner Character Profile thread, you are automatically qualified for Round 2. (you still need to submit your character in the 2nd thread though!) If you're posting a character for the first time to be considered, the judges will look over the character and will approve/not approve before Round 1 is over.

[.04] You may not exceed 250 words in the "Personality" area.
[.05] You may only submit a maximum of 4 powers in the "Possible Powers" section, with a minimum of 2 powers. You may explain how the power works, but please do not exceed 100 words for each power.
[.06] Optionally, if you find it difficult to come up with a fel essence idea, you can pick any one on the Fel Essences thread that are labeled Inactive - Available.
