So my phone cord broke and I got a new one that glows bright neon green and I am not sure if I regret my decision yet.

@Nashi: Congrats on possible job! I actually have a bit of a library-job related dilemma going on right now:

So for the better part of a year I've been working at a library as a Library Clerk in the Technology Center, which basically means I help patrons with computers, tablets, any other electronics they bring in, and do tech. help for anyone anywhere in the library. I enjoy it, but it's not using my degree, so I've been applying to other library jobs in the area. Recently I got a job offer from another library within a reasonable distance doing much the same thing as my current job, but it's a smaller library so I would have a chance to do other things as well, like reference, programming, etc. But just before I got the job offer, I also got invited to interview for a part time position as an actual Librarian in a different library, a full 20 hours a week with benefits (as opposed to the places that let you work up to 19.5 hours so they don't need to give you benefits) and a salary appropriate to the degree. Now the interview isn't for a week and a half, so I've been deliberating how to respond: asking the place with the job offer to wait 2 weeks or more for a response is rude and unprofessional, but if I turn them down and hope for the Librarian job, I may well end up with neither.

For now I'm trying to see if we even could make the schedules work out so I could work both my existing library job and the one I have an offer for, since I couldn't live off just one, and as soon as I get the chance I want to quit the craft store job I'm also working because the pay is not much more than minimum wage (despite having worked for their nearly 5 years [actually nearly 7, but since I left for a year to attend grad. school, the company only counts from my re-hire date]) and the hours fluctuate from week to week. I'll still attend the interview, because it can't hurt, but it's a tricky situation all around.

@Blue: I'm sure when you're trying to sleep tonight and distracted by it, you'll regret it. xD

@Mew: Oh, gosh, that is a huge dilemma. Dx /fluffs What do you think you're gonna do?

This all makes me really glad I have... five years left of school left. /eyes the real world

@Ruler: For now, I'm waiting for the job-offered place to get back to me about schedules. If they can't make that work around my existing job, then that one might just not work. If they can, then I have a reaaaally tough decision to make. In my second interview with them I did let them know that my ultimate goal is to be a Children's Librarian, so since I potentially have a shot at that I might ask them if they're willing to wait until I hear back from the place I have an interview with. It's a bit of a long shot to ask, but it's a possibility. And if it takes more than a day or so to get back to me, I can stall by saying "I'm going to be away for the weekend at the convention that I mentioned during my first interview! Get back to you on Monday!" (Since that actually came up, and then we talked about my art stuff for a while.)

@Mew: Oh, that sounds like a good plan~ Hopefully you can stall them long enough to at least gauge how the interview goes. Such a tricky situation >w>
@Mew: Dang, that sounds really tough! I am only continuing with my current major because people say I will get a lot of money from it xd Which is a bad reason but I have no passion.

@Ruler: I know! I might not be able to plug it in at night

@Des: Is there something you do like? Whether it's similar enough that some skills might translate over, or entirely different but way more interesting to you?
Nope, so I figured I might as well do it for the paycheck! So I can buy myself toys and comics and anime!
