+Build-A-Plush+ CYO Soq Plush Event -OPEN-

[Soquili-Activities]

Welcome to the Build A Plush event, presented by the Soquili pet shop, where you can CYO (color your own) plushies or write haiku poems (if you cannot color) for friends. This event is for everyone, artists and writers alike! The plushie line art is saved in both a .psd templated form and .jpg form in case you do not have layer supported software. We have a tag created specifically for this event for all plushies.

Please post all plushie tags in this thread and around Christmas (exact date TBA) there will be a raffle in which prizes of free soquili, familiars, gold, items and letters will be awarded. Some prize soquili may be colored similar to the plushie or themed from the haiku so please color and write with that in mind! Have fun!!

The event ends Wednesday the 23rd at midnight CST! Please chat in this thread because at the closing there will also be a mass thread raffle where a prize will be awarded.

+Rules and Guidelines+

Here are rules and guidelines to follow during this special holiday event!

1. You can only make plushies and haiku for others
   
2. You must tag all plushies before posting them in the thread here.
   
3. You can only make up to 7 plushies to give away to friends
   
4. You can make 3 additional plushies to give away to only soquili newbies (newbies are those who have no soquili AT ALL, familiars OK, for this event). Ask the potential newbie if they are indeed a newbie before gifting!
   
5. No mules! (less than 3 months and 1k posts = automatic mule suspect.)
   
6. If you cannot color then you can write 7 holiday haiku for friends and 3 more for soquili newbies for post in the plushie thread here.
   
7. You must deliver the plushies and haiku yourself!
   
8. Check the drama at the door
   
9. Do not discourage anyone from making a plushie or haiku
   
10. All prizes are mystery (codeword: Cogsworth) and will not be unveiled prior to the closing of this free event.
    
11. This event is free for all
    
12. Do not beg in the thread or PM strangers to make you a plushie. You may PM soquili-activities ONCE and ask to be put on the hopefuls list. Specify if you are an owner or newbie (see above for newbie criteria).
    
13. Do not steal someone else's plushie or haiku. Make all plushies and haiku 100% yourself please.
    
14. Do not use these plushies outside of this event or the hiring event. I'll report art theft if you do.
    
15. Do not sell the plushies or bribe others for their plushies. That is grounds for blacklisting so report all suspicious activity to Soquili ASAP.
    
16. All plushie and haiku must obey the TOS and cannot be sexually graphic.
    
17. Cosplay plushies allowed.
    
18. People can quest their plushies to become soquili.

+The Plushie Files+

The plushie template may be downloaded here or (here if RS is acting funny.) for use in this event only. The file is in .psd but layer supported software can also open and edit the file. The line art within is shaded and lightened in layer sets. Turn off the eye on the undesired layer sets. The color layer is locked for easy coloring. I won't go into depth about how to color so if anyone would like to PM me a tutorial link to post here then please do so.

Here are the .jpgs of the shaded plushies.

To color these: Set the plushie layer to multiply by using the drop down layer menu. Make a new layer under the plushie layer and color there. You can also make edits on top the plushie layer. Have fun!

Here is the tag that everyone must use!

To tag .psd plushies: Once all finished, click the eyes on the white background layer (at the bottom) then use the lasso tool to select the plushie. Go up to edit and select copy merged and paste the plushie on the tag. Use text to write under "To" the recipient and "From" your name. Save the file for web at 65% or 70% if it is a very brightly colored plushie and upload to your own server. You can use tinypic.com or photobucket..whatever is fine. Then you gotta post that plushie in this thread here to be eligible for the recipient to be entered in the raffle.

To tag .jpg plushies: Once all finished, flatten the image and then use the magic eraser tool (he is hiding under the main eraser) and then click the area outside the lines. This makes the plushie's background transparent magically! Then use the lasso tool and copy the plushie over to the tag. Use text to write under "To" the recipient and "From" your name. Save the file for web at 65% or 70% if it is a very brightly colored plushie and upload to your own server. You can use tinypic.com or photobucket..whatever is fine. Then you gotta post that plushie in this thread here to be eligible for the recipient to be entered in the raffle.

1. I'm confused. What is this?
   It is a thread where you can post your own CYO plushies or haikus to give away to friends.
   
2. I don't know how to color! How can poor lil me spread any holiday cheer sad ?
   Make a holiday haiku. See the Rules and Guidelines for more information.
   
3. Can I make more plushies but not put them in the submission thread or tag?
   No it says you can't use the plushies outside the event. Sorry!
   
4. Is it possible for a plushie to be made of an already existing horse (One of my own) For it's mate. I would note that it is not to be entered into the raffle and ect~ But there weren't any rules on it ^^;

5. Rapidshare is saying I need to be a premium member to download the file
   It does that now when there is high traffic. Keep refreshing and eventually it will give you a count down where you can download as a free user. If anyone knows of another site I can upload a mirror file.
   
6. Would something like a plush/gram exchange work? So like... you do a plush/gram for somebody of something they wanted and you do something they wanted?
   Yeah that's ok to PM them as long as that person is a friend and not a stranger.

I figured out my main ones, though that was part of the question I want to ask. If its possible to do unofficial ones that arent entered into the raffle, cause I can think of many I'd like to do plushies for.
