Gathering Notes by me and Toshi_Chan heart
Riverclan arrives first to the Gathering, led by both Mothstar and Fernstar. Mothstar is undecided about what to do about Windclan, because she thinks using the territory as a food source until Windclan returns on its own should be fine. She truly wishes to get a sign from Starclan, and is worried that their medicine cats will not receive anything. Fernstar has decided that she wants to help find Windclan and bring them home.
Sunstar leads Thunderclan to the Gathering. Cinderpelt notices that Riverclan's medicine cats are not present, and is worried.
Chaosstar begins to lead Shadowclan to the Gathering, when Larksparrow freezes on the Thunderpath when she thinks she sees Fogpelt silhouetted in the car's light. Foxtrot saves her, and Larksparrow admits to herself that Fogpelt is with Starclan. The medicine cat pretends nothing has happened after thanking Foxtrot, and they continue.
The three leaders at Four Trees are startled when a cat enters on the Windclan side. It is Northwing, who was part of a Windclan patrol to drive out a badger. He got separated from the group, and has no idea where the rest of Windclan is. Silvertail, also Windclan and part of the group that chased the badger, follows his scent trail and also arrives at Fourtrees.
Chaosstar is about to enter Fourtrees when he asks his clan their opinions on Windclan. Many cats want the territory and feel if Windclan keeps leaving it they are perfectly free to stake a claim. They join the Gathering and Chaosstar is angered to find Northwing there, both because he and Northwing have grudges against each other and because if one Windclan cat comes back more are bound to follow. Chaosstar orders Nightdevil to go and start marking a new boundary, taking up Windclan territory, and Mintstripes follows to help.
Chaosstar and Moonstar have both arrived at the Gathering with their clan and none of Shadowclan are the least bit happy at seeing warriors from Windclan arriving. Many cats feared a fight between Northwing and Chaosstar would erupt due to bad history between the two, but all the clans settled again when Starclan threatened to cover the moon. Nightdevil is resting out on the Moor after marking a good line of Windclan territory for Shadowclan and is beginning to have second thoughts about their actions, Mintstripes is still out there marking somewhere. >.>
On Windclan's side of things, Darkstorm has joined the disjointed little group of Windclan cats at the gathering and Greymask and Owlpatch are on their way to joining as well.
All the leaders attending the gathering have assembled atop the Great Rock; Chaosstar and Moonstar of Shadowclan, Sunstar of Thunderclan, and Fernstar and Mothstar of Riverclan. Fernstar has extended an invitation to Shadowclan and Thunderclan for one of them to begin the gathering.
Moonstar begins the Gathering and opens with a general report on Shadowclan. Sunstar follows, and announces that the new deputies of ThunderClan are Brambleclaw and Fawnfur, and Fernstar gives her report. Moonstar responds to the comment on Brambleclaw becoming deputy with a less than subtle hint that the sons of Tigerstar are not to be trusted, yet does not voice any opinion on Tawneypelt. Sunstar and Fernstar become defensive, vouching that their cats are nothing but loyal, and Fernstar attempts to change the subject to Windclan.
Out on the moor, Nightdevil and Mintstripes wonder if they are doing the right thing by the warrior code, and finally decide that because they were following their leader's orders they can't be at fault. The remaining Windclan cats arrive, and Cinderpelt offers to aid them, though Larksparrow, and the newly arrived Heartpool, hold back.
Moonstar first brings up the idea of bringing a partol and makes a comment that leaves Sunstar questioning if she is truly offering help or lying. Moonstar tells him that she is being serious, for there have always been four clans in the forest. Chaosstar can't find an opening, and lets his mate handle most of the talking.
Cinderpelt treats the Windclan cats, and Fernstar and Mothstar agree to send some warriors on the patrol.
Larksparrow sits and gawks, wondering what her leader is doing, since she had informed her of her vision yet Moonstar was agreeing to the patrol. Maybe because of anger or maybe to stall for time, she uses the discussion about Brambleclaw to slide the Gathering discussion in the direction of half clan cats, and drops hints about a warrior who had not proven his loyalty to his clan after learning the challenges that came with having kin across a border. She asks the leaders what they would think of such a cat.
Mothstar is a little shocked at Larksparrow's words, but doesn't know what to say. Moonstar is silent as well, though she suspects her medicine cat is speaking of Foxtrot. The cat in question begins acting nervously, and Lilyheart begins to have a theory when old memories are stirred up. Foxheart, another Shadowclan cat, feels so angry at Larksparrow that he would have attacked her if she hadn't been a medicine cat.
Chaosstar finally speaks, quietly questioning Moonstar's intention to send a patrol, but Moonstar is still concentrating on Larksparrow and doesn't hear. Aghast, Silverpaw lets slip the first part of the warrior's name, and finding the moment altogether too perfect, Larksparrow blurts out the whole thing, and makes a startling proposition.
"Cats of all clans, something is eating away at Shadowclan from within, something is eating away at all of us like maggots squirming through crowfood. It is a breakdown of adherence to the warrior code due to the influx of half clan cats. If they are allowed to dwell among us like this loyalties are created that aren't meant to exist under Silverpelt. Relationships that go against every rule we have been taught by our ancestors go unchecked. I realize that a purging of halfclan cats to show our devotion to Starclan and the warrior code, though the right thing to do, may seem too radical to some, so instead I propose this. The next cats to allow themselves to fall victim to the temptation of love outside of one's clan will be made an example. They will not be harmed, but made to leave our territories as a result of their choices. The next halfclan kits born would not be able to train as warriors. Maybe then warriors will have a greater conviction to remain loyal, so that the best may be done for them, their clan, all of our futures."
There are some very vehement and mixed reactions. Most cats agree that kits should never be thrown out under any circumstances, but a few cats here and there are a bit concerned about cross clan romances and think that, even if Larksparrow is going to the extreme, she is heading in the right direction.

The Gathering Begins to Close
Mothstar's pelt crawled with unease. It was all too overwhelming. Fear scent from the Shadowclan deputy and from cats affected by the news of his past filled her nose and mouth. She tried to clear her head but the whispered mews of protest and agreement concerning Larksparrow's announcement danced through her ears. The large dappled brown she cat couldn't take it anymore.
"Enough!" she yowled in the direction of the Shadowclan medicine cat, still softer than the cry other leaders would make to command attention, but more sharply and loudly than any in her clan had ever heard her speak before. Her silent prayers to Starclan must have found their way to an agreeable resident of Silverpelt, for she was suddenly filled with an energy and confidence that reached from the edges of her whiskers to the tip of her tail.
"These problems about half clan cats are an important issue, and they will be addressed, but not now, Larksparrow. The disappearance of Windclan is far more pressing. You and your leaders," she mewed softly but evenly, flicking her tail in the direction of Moonstar and Chaosstar, "Will have to deal with this by yourselves for the moment, Riverclan is going to prepare its cats for a patrol."
She leaped down from the rock into the crowd of warriors, pacing over to where Riverclan was densest. For a second her old doubts about not having a sign from Starclan sent to a medicine cat played up again, but another comforting thought replaced it. Sunstar had volunteered to help, so at least Cinderpelt didn't see anything negative about searching out Windclan. Her hope died again when she realized that she had no idea where to start, but as Mothstar took a moment to stare into the full moon, hanging in the perfectly clear sky, she knew Starclan would guide them.
She had to trust.
