Life is full meaningless drama. You work, eat, and sleep for most of it. You get stuck in a dead end job, with no hope for a better one. Hell, you are lucky if you date someone. You may shake things up by going out with some friends. If you have any that is. Really to be honest your life is almost boring. Or I should say was boring.

For it finally happened, your time came. You managed to kick the bucket one way or another. You have join the dearly departed, start pushing daisies, or in other words you have died. You are prepared to meet your maker. Go off to heaven, hell, or where ever it is you are suppose to.

You look around for a tunnel of light, or some other marker to the path to heaven or hell. You see no light, no angels, no demons, or any of death omens you have heard about. Only a man in a nice looking white suit standing next to your body. He shakes his head looking down at the shell that was once you. There is something about that makes him seem like he is probably a complete a*****e. Before you can ask him if and where he is taking you he cuts you off.

He tells you that you were chosen randomly to collect the souls of the living. In layman's terms a grim reaper, minus the cloak and scythe. Well so, much for going to greener pastures. You are stuck on this mundane planet, so you best enjoy it.

Welcome to your afterlife.

The Basics
First of all you should all know this, but follow the TOS. Follow my rules, keep it PG16. Be nice to each other. Talk in the ooc, post, and be imaginative. If you are going to be gone for more than a few days please let me know. I will give people three warnings to post before I reopen roles. Also feel free to add your ideas to the plot. Yes in case you were wondering this rp is inspired by Dead Like Me. You do not need to know the show to join the rp though.

Posting
This rp is literate to advance literate. I would prefer long posts, but I know my brain sometimes only wants to put out short ones. The minimum is two meaty paragraphs. I'm not a grammar Nazi, so if you make mistakes no worries. Please do try to make what you write legible. I like fancy scmancy posts so, make yours beauteous. Just the name and pic of your character will do. Please bold the text for your character's dialogue. Italics for thoughts. Please no font size smaller than 11. Post as often as you can. Do not ignore your fellow rpers both in the IC and OOC. I can not stress enough how much it annoys me people do that.

Reserves And Profiles
Do not alter anything that is meant to be edited! Please fill out the forms correctly! For the reserve pm them to me with the title Ashes To Ashes. For profile make a new thread in the test forum. I have provide the coding for you, just follow the prompts. For models I don't care who you use. I personally find it annoying when people tell who you can not use. Everyone should be in their twenties or older. Use PicMonkey for editing the pics. If you need any help with anything just ask. For the profile title your pm the name of your character. You have two weeks to pm your profile. If it is not fully finished that is fine. You can always edit it even after I get it.

Characters
First off everyone is an adult in this rp. You may play two characters. Real images only. I'm not going to make gender specific roles. At the same time I do not want a ton females or visa verse. Not everyone's life was a sob story before they died. Please I would like to see various nationalities, sexualities, and what not.

Other Stuff
I highly welcome all kinds of drama and plot twists in my rps. Depending on the popularity of the rp, I may add more spots. To view the profiles click on the character's pictures. Remember rping is about having fun, so let us make sure we do. Please put in Dearly Departed somewhere in your reserve pm, so I know you read the rules. All new rules will be in this color.

Welcome you were luckily chosen for a career in escorting the dead to the next world. Before you step into the task which was placed upon you there are a few rules you need to know.

1 ) Never contact family/friends or stay in the same area too long. Never tell anyone you are a reaper.

2 ) All Grim Reapers are immortal and stay the same age they died

3 ) When injured you will heal quickly, but you can feel pain

4 ) Always keep your notebook and a time keeping device on you. Your assessments will appear in your notebook.

5 ) Your clients will give off a faint glow when their time is nearing

6 ) After releasing the soul a door way will appear. Guide your client to it

7 ) All reapers can see ghosts. You will get stragglers sometimes, deal with them quickly

8 ) Never miss an appointment

Stella's Diner
A 1950's retro diner. It's the perfect spot for the reapers to hold their meetings. Plus the food is great. The owner Joan Keller is quite fond of her frequent costumers, and gives them free pie and coffee all the time.

Blanc Traveling Agency
An old office building that appears to be falling apart. In relativity it is the office White uses when in Chicago.

The Great Hall
The home of White. Exists in another plane of relativity. It is so vast that one has yet to explore all of its rooms.

Lou's Record Store
An old almost out of business music store. It is runned by Lou Micheals an man stuck in the 60s. Connor's part time job is here. He and Lou get on very well.
