Blake had only been at the Network Outpost long enough to get some new clothes after his had apparently vanished, and then he was right back out to patrol the city. Finally exhausted and bitter from another day of atrocities, he'd returned to the shores of the Flooded District. No matter how vigilant he was, it seemed he had always arrived just after something terrible happened. His efforts had been wasted, along with his energy. The Spellblade hadn't been to any kind of home or really been in contact with anyone he knew for days. Sitting on a rock, watching the waves...

He wondered why he couldn't seem to help anyone.
"Pretty!" Came a voice from behind Blake. A... A very haunting voice, small and high-pitched. A young girl's voice.

Blake hadn't heard anyone approach, nor had he felt a presence. He turned his head back behind him in confusion...

Alisa Zolner

"I wish I had gotten to, too," she answered, her cheeks burning a little. "But I'll get to see it someday, right?" She asked, leaning in close and listening to his tale. As it drew on, a more and more concerned expression spread over her features.

... But it was nothing compared to the expression that spread over them when Alisa finally blipped back onto their radar. "... D-do you feel that?!" She didn't even get the chance to process what her mate had told her.

..... And just as he was about to explain about Alex and what he had been told by him... But he was still worried about Alisa, and his eyes met hers.

"Should we go? It could be just a repeat of last time.. if she isn't ready to come back to us.. to open up to us again."

"The water. It's pretty, isn't it? ... It reminds me of home~" came the voice of the young thing behind him... A young vision of the past, no less. Stepping slowly around the rock he sat on, she kept her eyes on the shining, sparkling water, and the lost acres buried deep in its abyss. Her eyes shimmered. "... It makes you wonder who lived there... Makes you grateful to be alive, too..." she whispered under her voice, with a small, wistful smile on her face, thoughtful and a little sadder than her expression let on.

"... Nnf. ... I... I think she's coming back to us," she answered. "... She feels... Closer. And... She's letting us feel her, besides." ... Her eyes misted over at that feeling, a tiny smile crawling over her face. She hadn't realized how empty her heart had felt with that void, there...

"... We can... Wait here for her, I think."

"Pretty...?" The word was unfamiliar to his heart, even though in his head he knew what it meant. Blake had stopping considering the beauty of things a while ago, it seemed. As for the girl, well. This wouldn't have been the first time he'd nodded off and remembered things he wished he couldn't. "It's nothing like Laxfor, though. Sky's the wrong color, the grass is too." Came his voice, strained. "And only one moon. I miss home..." There were a lot of things he missed, lately. As to what the girl had said, her tone plunging into negative, he could only respond, "But you're not alive." in a way that might have seemed cold to someone not of his kind. To others of his species, the tone of pain, regret, and pure guilt were unmistakable.

"...Celeste."
(( Aw... Sad day... Oh well... *Debates how he should start this then* ))
... She smiled warmly when he said her name. Gently pressing her hands to her chest, it just curled over her as though his remembering her was the greatest possible favor he could have done for her. "... Brother... Don't look at me like I was a mistake. I know... In my heart... You would have risked your life, even died saving me, if it were within your power... Even if I'd begged you to stay away..." ... She slowly approached him, and gave him a warm, tight hug. "... I can be thankful... That you're alive, at least... Even if I'm not."

"Mmmm"

He leaned in, hugging her with a light smile and resting his head against hers.

"And then there's Alex you no doubt wondered about... he was my childhood love... and my stupidity got him killed.. he died in my arms."

The previous nights events seemed to make it easier to talk about, but the pain remained.

"But you heard yourself, they've sent him to watch over me... and last night, after you fell asleep, I went out looking for her again, but he found me in stead."
(( Just so I know, where are Aurelus and Asila talking about this? >w>;; ))

"... Oh." She couldn't help but blush, faintly, at hearing about this. Squirming, lightly, she looked up into his eyes... Concern? ... Jealous? Fear that she might be rejected...?

When Celeste hugged him, he flinched away a little. He'd half expected to wake up at that moment, denied the embrace of the sister he'd failed to protect. Even if she'd forgiven him, it was hard to forgive himself. After all, with the way their parents had reacted how could he not feel guilty? Still, he ran his fingers through her dark brown hair gently. "Thanks, sis." He could feel tears burning in his violet eyes, and his view of the moonlit waves blurred a little. Hearing his poor sister tell him that it was alright... Even if it was a dream, it made him feel a little more confident in the path he'd chosen.

"I love you, Celeste."

[Their room]

He gave a squeeze with his arms, and then he kissed her.. it didn't even need to be said how he felt.

"He warned me about Blake.. that he's going to go dark side, like Macht.. and he told me some things about alisa too."
