The World's Map

In the beginning there were only two gods, order and chaos. Chaos was the deep and complete nothingness from which all else sprang while Order gave shape and form to what came forth
from that nothingness. This was how the universe was created and life first made its appearence
in the form of new gods. The first set shaped by Order were given a greater purpose for maintaining
the stability of the new world and ruled over the actions of the lesser gods that were added later at the suggestion of Chaos. These first gods were those of the Sky and Weather, the Sea, Agriculture and Harvest,
Wild Things and the Hunt, Love and Beauty, Healing and Medicine, Sun and Moon, War and Bloodshed,
Wisdom and Handicrafts, and Death. Each had a difference prupose to fulfill and though created at
different times, none was created to be greater than the others. Their lesser siblings were soon to be
revealed as the gods of the Fire and Forge, Hearth and Home, Maddness and Merriment, Music
and the Arts, and Sleep and Dreams.

Mortal lifeforms were created and begin to live upon the Earth following the guidance of the gods.
Life slowly begin to flourish and beyond a few squabbles peace held the rule of the day. This wasn't to
last long as the influence of War and Bloodshed spread across the land. The god's conquest was fed
quickly by Death and Madness along with the support of Chaos. The fighting continued for years as
one mortal would rise to power only to be quickly replaced by another. The species of the land learned
to distrust each other based on nothing more than differences in appearance. Order became distressed
by the increasing violence and was soon to drown the world sparing only the inhabitants of the
mountainous continent. The sudden action halted the actions of the gods but Chaos continued
wreaking havoc on the remaining populace without fail. Order with the power of the gods sealed
Chaos within the God's Realm where a deal was made. Both Order and Chaos would sleep for a thousand
years under a seal during which time their children would guide the Mortal Realm. Should the seal be
broken before they awaken the world would be destroyed and they would begin the world anew.
The pact was made and the two Creators went into a deep sleep sealed away in the furthest corners of the
God's Realm.

Three hundred years passed with minimal wars occuring every so often as was expected with the changes
to the mortals. As time marched on the mortals forgot the existence of the Creator Gods and paid homage
to the gods they knew. In return the gods have chosen without fail humans to grant their divine attention to.
These mortals have been known to have different traits depending on the god that blessed them. A longer life span,
minor control over the elements sorrounding them, better reflexes, these powers among a great deal more made the
Gifted stand out in the Mortal Realm. These people may see the gift as a blessing or a curse, though whichever they
are generally shuned by those who have not received the gods' special attentions. By the eight-hundredth year the
memory of Order and Chaos had even faded in the minds of the gods and relative peace has ruled over the land,
too many years in the opinion of War and Bloodshed and the town of Panau falls to the Bloodstained Angel.
As the flames of war are kindled the long forgotton seal begins to disenigrate harolding the arrival of the Great
Gods once more. Struas the God of Agricluture and Harvest called a meeting of his siblings and few of the Chosen
to band together once more in an effort to bring down War and Bloodshed before war sweeps the land once more.
His speech was viewed very differently by each in attendance. The Moon has forseen the events to come however
and a crimson orb hangs in the sky heralding the future...

The gods are faced with numerous choices as their creators once more emerge from slumber. Should they side
with one or the other as Order and Chaos respectively fight for control of the Earth? Or unite to overthrow the
two great ones and maintain their rule? Whose side will the Gifted take, that of their god or towards the destruction
of the same god? New alliances will be forged as the fate of Earth is deicided in the battles to come.

The minimum amount for any post is two paragraph consisting of five to seven sentences.
Font of the post should be no larger than ten and no smaller than nine. All posts should be
written in third person though first person is acceptable for profiles. Actions must be spelled
out with speech in quotations. Colored font is acceptable but bright colors such as cyan, yellow,
and pink will not be allowed. Character name and picture are required within the post, pictures
may only be anime. More decoration is allowed but there should be more text than decoration within
a post. Lastly, I would like for everyone to post three times a week. In the case of an absence this
part may be overlooked.

xxxxxC o n t e n t
Fighting and romance is highly encouraged but must stay within Gaia ToS. There should be no
overdescriptive mention of gore. If you don't know where to draw the line myself or a mod will be
more than happy to inform you. Your character may not dodge all hits thrown at them and all of
their punches cannot land. Romance is encouraged but not to the point of where clothes start
coming off, if it gets to this point time-skip. Also in the case of romance there should be no
love at first sight. If a connection is wanted between characters to have a relationship
before entering the roleplay there should be mention of such within the profile. The killing of
characters will be allowed but I must having confirmation from all parties involved ahead of time.

xxxxxC h a r a c t e r s // S e t t i n g
Any of the character slots which contain 'and' ( Sky and Weather, Love and Beauty, etc. ) in
the title may be played as siblings or twins. A person is allowed to have two characters. While
Order and Chaos can have multiple powers please don't take this as an excuse to god-mod.
Gods may only have powers within whatever they rule, such as Sky and Weather being able to
control the weather or Love and Beauty to have empathy. Please, no cliche characters
otherwise known as Mary-Sues. Regardless of the position you're playing the character must
have a weakness of some sort. The current setting could be described as medieval meaning no guns
or other current day technology will be allowed. Crossbows may be used as well as the hinting of bombs
being developed. I would like for there to be a variety of races but if I get too much of one species I will
discontinue that race.

Please do not alter the format beyond changing the color, where allowed, and inserting your information.
The profile once completed may not appear correct within a PM but I can assure you it will work
within the forum. All reservations should be entitled the same name as the position you wish to take,
you must reserve first. In the event of receiving two messages for the same spot back to back then
the spot will either be split ( if it is one containing an 'and' within the title ) or the problem will be resolved
in another way. The lesser gods will not be opened until the others are filled and they may not have a
Gifted at this time. Order and Chaos will also lack a Gifted though they may make deals with the gods or
their Gifted. Though powers may overlap I will not allow more than the same power between people more
than a few times ( two or three ).

Everyone should already know to follow Gaia's Tos and I would like to see use of the Golden Rule around
in the OoC also. Everyone writes different and just because two characters don't get along doesn't
mean the people playing them can't. Please respect myself and any of the mods I appoint, if I have
them in such a position then they have obviously won my trust. On the chance there is an issue of
any kind between yourself and another please contact either myself or a mod and we will resolve the
issue. If you want a hand in discussing plot twists then please hang around the OoC and talk with us
about your ideas, you can also just hang around and talk. I reserve the right to update and change
the rules at any given time though current members will be notified through the Announcements post
and an OoC post stating likewise. Completed profiles should be entitled 'Path of Radiance' now have fun!

Closed - I just had to leave college, skipping
my classes tomorrow, because my grandpa is in the hospital and it really doesn't
sound good. He has fluid around his heart/lungs and they think he may have
congestive heart failure. Currently he's on a ventilator since he arrived in the E.R.
unresponsive and able to breathe. I appreciate everyone being understanding of
my absence in such a situation and I will be closing the IC thread until at least
Monday or Tuesday when things have settled down some for me.
