RAWRSan Francisco, a beautiful city full of many cultures and diversity. It was a city that had survived so many disasters from fires to earthquakes. But it wasn’t until now that the earthquake everyone had been waiting for had finally come. It came so fast, so sudden, as earthquakes often do. It shook the city right to the core, bringing down buildings and creating tsunamis. This was it, this was “The Big One” that everyone spoke about.

RAWRBut this story isn’t about the humans, it’s about what was left behind. Or more accurately, who. Those known as “Man’s best friend”. While it was true the lucky ones escaped with their humans, or “Longpaws” as the called them, many were left to endure this disaster alone. The ones who’s longpaws had died or had to escape without them. As the earthquakes shook through the land, it broke off parts of the land which split just a little farther and created new shorelines. It was chaos, the dogs of the land were petrified. City dogs were frantically trying to survive in this new environment while Leashed dogs were alone and scared, wondering when their longpaws would come back.

RAWRIt’s been a week since that tragic disaster and much of the water has receded and opened land that had once been under water. In its wake are hungry dogs waiting desperately for their owners. With the help of stray dogs, these soft and pampered dog must now find their “Dog Spirit” and learn how to not just survive, but thrive, without their longaws. But the worst has yet to come, because wild animals from zoos and sanctuaries are running rampant. And even worse, those who think they can trust a longpaw now may lose their lives for their blind trust. Rations are low everywhere, animals and mankind both hunger. It is now survival of the fittest. Leashed dogs and City dogs must come together to survive, or parish in this harsh new world.

tab →Think of the capabilities of the dog you choose, that their fur might mat if it’s too long or if your an older dog you’ll be slower and have health problems accordingly.
tab →Keep in mind the lifespan of each breed, as they vary. Generally smaller dogs age slower than big dogs.
tab →Having a collar or any article of clothing on your character is automatically a weakness.

CLIMATE

The city is laid out in a grid over some 40 hills, reaching heights of nearly 1,000 feet; this sometimes causes wide variations in temperature and sky conditions in different areas of town. The Pacific air keeps the temperatures generally moderate, rarely ranging above 75 degrees or below 45 degrees, leading San Francisco to be called "the air-conditioned city." The climate is very similar to coastal areas on the Mediterranean.

Although temperatures remain relatively constant, there are two definite seasons—wet and dry—with more than 80 percent of annual precipitation taking place between November and March. Perhaps the most distinctive feature of the local climate is the banks of fog that can roll in off the ocean, quickly covering various areas of the city, and then disappear just as quickly. The fog is most common on summer mornings, coming off the cooler ocean and backing up against the hills, but it also comes from the colder inland areas during the winter. The fog affects different elevations in varying amounts, covering the city in complex patterns of fog and sunshine.Source

It’s southern and eastern borders are rather vague but it doesn’t go farther than Sigmund Stern Grove and Sloat Boulevard and no farther east than Stanyan Street.

WILD ANIMALS ON THE LOOSE

→ Tiger - The only one tiger remaining is in Golden Gate Park. It's foliage attracted it, wanting to be in the cover of the trees.
→ Lions - A male lion and his pride of 2 lionesses have wandered into the Presidio, following it's prey into the more open spaces of the park.
→ Grizzly Bear - Hungry, angry, and desperate this beast is a force to be reckoned with. He's in the downtown area, scavenging for what he can.
→ Claude - A 22 year old half blind albino Alligator. He may not be much of a threat, but his hearing is pristine. One would not want to get stuck in the flooded waters of the Science Museum with him.
→ Mountain Lions - These are not the Zoo lions, but the ones who live in the wild. They are more aggressive than usual, just as confused as the rest only now defending their territories and expanding now that there is freedom to do so.

→ Small Mammals - black-tailed deer, broad-footed mole, pocket gopher, deer mouse, western harvest mouse, California vole, badger, brush rabbit.
→Birds: Pigeons(everywhere), Wharf - Albatross, Gulls. Presidio - Ducks, Quail, Pelican, Herron.
→ FIsh: In the ponds and lakes.

THE LORE OF DOGS

Leashed dog's don't really follow much, but maybe see them as stories from when they were pups. Some have been lost all together and most barely use the terms because they have the knowledge of humans. Some stray dogs have adapted to it as well, but most stray dogs follow the terminology and know of the lore. Source

tab The Sky-Dogs-Sky-Dogs are mentioned to appear like old style hunting dogs, akin to greyhounds or fast deerhounds,and are a similar breed to Lightning.Sky-Dogs are said to be warring each time there is a thunderstorm. This is called a Sky-Dog fight.
tab Fear-Dog - Fear dog is often seen by dogs who are sick (like having Seizures) or close to death themselves. Perhaps even a brush with death might bring about this spirit's appearance. Fear-Dog is said to have ruled over the Sky-Dogs and is King of the Spirit-Dogs.The Fear-Dog has been described as a shadowy figure the shape of a Fierce Dog that is darker than the night sky with red eyes that have a star-like glow and red claws.

tab Earth-Dog - is portrayed as a huge, solid, black, mastiff-like female . She is known for the fatal earthquakes she causes when she growls. Dogs bury prey as offerings to her, and when a dog dies, she claims their body as the earth. Dogs interpret thunder as her growling at Lightning.
tab Wind-Dog - a group of Spirit-Dogs that reside in the sky, similarly to Sky-Dogs. According to Sweet, they are modeled as the first Swift-Dogs and all Swift-Dogs can be traced to their Spirit-Dog roots.
tab Lake-Dog- a female Spirit-Dog that is said to serve as the ocean. She is siblings to the River-Dog. She is also known as the Endless Lake.
tab Watch-Dog - The Watch-Dog is the Spirit-Dog of Fierce Dogs. He is described as vicious, strong and fearsome. He is said to rule The Sky-Dogs.
