Two updates! And two happy updates! Two of the roleplays we have been listing have gone from recruiting to open! Both Emerald Hills Academy and Just Dance are now open, but still accepting. So check them out!

It appears the bumping service I have hired to bump the directory advertisement is a little slow. xd That is okay, though; in fact, that is actually quite good. I was concerned that the bumping service would just blitz-bump the ad, but if it is spread out longer, that would be much better.

So I was perusing Barton Town as I am often wont to do, when what should I stumble across, but a handy guide for beginning roleplayers.

Now, it is not for advlit roleplaying specifically (in fact, I don't believe advlit is even mentioned), but it is so well written and in such a friendly tone that I think it is an excellent resource for beginners. There are some "guides" out there that are little more than snarky insults to other types of roleplaying, but this one is the real deal: clear, concise, legitimate and friendly.

I often get people asking me how to get in to advlit roleplaying, often when they know very little about roleplaying at all. I had intended one day to write a guide, but with quality guides like this, I may not even have to.

But before I go, I just want to take a moment to promote the 8th Annual User-run Ball. Now, this is not the Gaia Anniversary Ball (which takes place in February, I believe). This is a massive user-run event that happens every year. It is coming up this weekend (I believe), and everyone is invited.
