&& l i t e r a c y; For me literacy does not mean paragraph over paragraph over paragraph of how her hair shone with the vivacity of a freshly laid blanket of snow. In fact, I prefer quality over quantity every single day. As such, I expect for you to have an extent knowledge of the English language, good spelling [I will understand typos], and little to no grammatical problems. To ensure that this rule is followed, I suggest typing your post in a program like Microsoft Word or OpenOffice before you post it in the RP, this way you can take advantage of the spell check feature.

&& c h a r a c t e r s; On with the characters! Can I have a helping of uniqueness, please? I want characters that will make me go "wow he/she is cool!" Now, I don't want a whole bunch of emos, don't get me wrong, I love those kids, but honestly folks, they aren't the only kind of people in the world. No mary-sues please! No one is perfect and, yes, that includes the characters that come out of your pretty little head. In fact, perfect characters get boring and old pretty darn fast and makes everyone hate them almost instantly. Everyone has faults, can be wounded, and can die. End of story. Also, please try not to give me the usual sob story unless you have a really, really, REALLY good explanation for it, believe it or not there are people who' have happy lives. Also, keep in mind that this is war children, finding people who have led absolutely perfect lives in the military is going to be hard to find.

&& l i f e f o r m s - h a l f b r e e d s; As most scientists would tell you, the galaxy is a pretty barren and desolate place, and this incarnation of it is no different. While there are a good handful of space faring alien life forms, I have already made up all the ones that will find a place in this ALREADY COPYRIGHTED universe. I ask that no one tries to make up an alien and play it. See, this story focuses on the conflict between the Humans and the Anujai, none of the other races are keen to get involved just now, since the Humans and the Anujai are both powerful superpowers. So no, I'm sorry, but you all have to play Humans. And yes, that means PURE BLOODED Humans. See, the thing about science is, it is highly unlikely that two alien life forms who evolved on two totally different worlds in different parts of the galaxy will be able to breed and create offspring, thus, no Half-Breeds. While there are exceptions ((Lifeforms that initially evolved on the same world but were transplanted onto different ones by some ancient alien scientists or something)), they aren't in this RP. I'm sorry, your all just going to have to amuse yourself with being Homo Sapians.

&& r a t i n g; Gaia is a pg-13 role playing site and so, our role play is as well. I don’t want to see your characters “wrestling” or “playing doctor”. If needed be you can hint that something happened between the two characters but I don’t want to see anything that you wouldn’t let your preteen sibling to see unless you really, really hated him and wanted to scar him for life. Then there’s violence. Gore, blood, and guts are acceptable as you cannot expect anything less than in this type of role play, however, I do NOT want to see an excessive use of gore or anything too descriptive or you will be asked to edit.

&& c u r s i n g; It's a well known fact that the military breeds frustration and frustration breeds "bad words", so cursing is fine. However, if we could keep ourselves from imitating The Demoman that would be terrific.

&& a p p l i c a t i o n s - p r o f i l e s; No matter how much I stress this, there is always one person who manages to exasperate me by not following this rule. Look, I'm a stuck up and perfectionist little b*****d and expect my fellow role players to be the same way; thus, I require that everyone try out before joining in order to ensure that we all get the creative, little minds we are looking for. After you have been accepted ((which is not all that hard really, unless your posting in asterisks I think everyone has room to grow)) you can start your profile. Once you are done with it, I will revise it to make sure it is within the rules before it is posted up in the character thread.

&& r e s e r v a t i o n s; If you want to reserve a spot while you work on your profile that is fine by me, but remember that this will be done in a first come-first serve basis and will have a one week limit to this reservation.

&& d e d i c a t i o n; I'd like it if you could at least post in the OOC every day. A role play post every day would be GREAT, but I know that sometimes it takes a while to formulate a good post. If you at least hang out in the OOC with me, I'll know you're here and know that you aren't ditching us. If for some reason you'll be gone for more than 3 days, please let me know. I don't want to have to worry about you. If you're inactive without telling me for three days, I'll PM you. If you don't reply to that within 2 days, I'll PM you again. If you don't reply to that within 1 day, then I'm going to have to put your character on hold until I find out where you are and if you're coming back. If you don't talk to me three days after the hold I will put your position up for grabs. That's fair right?

&& p o s t i n g; Want to make your post all shiny and fantastic with graphics and whatnot? Not a problem! I am an aesthetic and enjoy seeing pretty things all around and that includes posting formats. You have the liberty to use whatever posting format you want and/or not using one altogether. The choice is yours. However, I will ask for people to post in sizes 9, 10, and 11 as it will make things clear and readable. Needless to say I hope to see everyone posting with “these” for your character’s speech and this for their thoughts and words in a language other than English [I also hope to see a small translation quote in the bottom]. I also hope to not be seeing any of *these* for actions or chat speak, u knw?

&& f l a m i n g; There will be no toleration for insults out of character. The bashing/flaming of one’s sexuality, belief system, personality, will result in an auto-ban with no possibility of being accepted again. Besides that I will be sure to report the person and will not lose a night’s sleep. Keep the racial epitaphs for the Anujai alright guys?

&& p r o b l e m s; Now, I know that sometimes people can get on each others’ nerves and that, often times, can lead to arguments. Since I want my topic to be a happy, little home, I will act as a mediator when a problem arises. I will listen to both sides and after careful consideration, I will act accordingly—if needed be, I will go as far as banning both individuals from the role play.

&& m o d s; So I am not very responsible—and a lot of people can vouch for me when I say this—suuu I require the help of people in order to keep the role play in order and at float. Mind you, I will choose individuals who seem both capable and responsible

&& r u l e s; The rules found here—including this one—are subject to change when and if I see fit, because I am God in this RP. Don't like it? Tough. End of story.

&& m e; In all honesty I may sound like a real b*****d in these rules, but all in all I really am a nice guy, I swear.
