Welcome to the Witch's first attempt in creating a roleplay. And since Im not really good with introductions, you can imagine that there's an incredibly awesome introduction right here, cool? Okay. This idea came up to me one day when I was unbelievably bored and found myself staring at the numerous books scattered in my room and then I saw five books that I absolutely fell in love with. Then bam, this idea was born.

The story of the wallflowers takes place in old London, most likely Victorian era. And most of you know what kind of time that was. Corsets, drawers, gowns, gloves, pinned-up hair, soirees, balls, and all that stuff.

Well that being said, let's move on toooo...

Just how often is it that you find a group of girls pulling out a scheme of husband hunting out of nowhere? For one, it's unheard of. And for another, its definitely improper for ladies to do so. When the ladies of London were expected to play the quiet, gentle, good-mannered lady, what can five obviously out-of-place girls do? And what more if they were being pushed into finding themselves a partner for life when no one even dares to look their way or even glance at their table at gatherings?

How can a poor girl use her beauty to lift her family's standings while keeping her dignity? How would a girl who would rather run around in her undergarments and play a game of rounders fit into a place where just showing the shape of one's legs is enough to start a scandal? What about a shy, stammering girl whose history seems like a mess? What about a girl who would rather read romance novels than associate with peers? And lastly, what would happen to a girl whose future was planned without her consent?

This is the story of five young ladies entering the London society with one necessary goal: to find themselves a partner. They must use their feminine wit and wiles to find the best possible match they can find for themselves. So they band together, and a daring husband-hunting scheme is born.

Of course, this story wont be complete without their male counterparts.

One of them born a normal individual who started from nothing. Despite his hard efforts and his undeniable success, the blue-bloods still refuses to accept him a peer. The second a carrier of the bluest bloodline there is, influential and rich. But due to his responsibilities, true happiness seems to avoid him, will he finally take a grip on it once it passes his way? Another just wants to enjoy life as it passes. What will it take for him to realize that there is more to life than just worldly pleasures and that everything cant be gained so easily? There is also one, a stranger who comes from a place where London looks down upon. Will this stop him from pursuing the object of his emotions? And last but not the least, he who despite being famous, despite the fact that he can have everything that he wanted, the world still holds no joy for him. How hard will it be for him to open his heart once more?

Ten different individuals, five different stories, one expected outcome.

The finding of a love to last a lifetime.

Part One~



» Warm Summer Night

[Summer ♀], the most beautiful of the wallflowers, is a daughter to a once wealthy family.
But ever since her father died, they eventually lost their wealth and now
everything seems to crumble before Annabelle's eyes, and it would seem that
the only choice she had left is to find a titled and wealthy husband to settle their debts
and give a life of relief to her and her mother.

The rest of the wallflowers go out of their way to help [Summer ♀].
Giving her dresses, ornaments, and everything she couldn't possibly afford just yet.
With her beauty greatly enhanced by these new garments and jewels,
[Summer ♀] starts their husband-hunting scheme. Trying to attract gentlemen who
would bring promise of a better life.

She had primarily set her sights on the earl of Stafford, [Autumn ♂],
the most eligible aristocrat in London.
However, the earl would have none of her but his best friend however, [Summer ♂],
even though he's not a "peer", is a wealthy, persistent, powerful man.
And it would seem that he finds it hard to keep his eyes from this beauty.

[Summer ♂], however, described himself as someone who isn't the marrying type.
His interest on [Summer ♀] however was too much that he wanted her to himself only.
Boldly, he offered her the possibility of being his mistress, even telling her
that he'll settle all her family's accounts if she accepted.
[Summer ♀] was enraged and tried her best to stay away from him.

Is it really just a coincidence?
It would seem that no matter how hard she tried, they always find themselves together.
And are these coincidences enough to change [Summer ♂]'s thoughts on marriage?




Garden in Autumn «

The second story revolves around the second oldest of the wallflowers,
[Autumn ♀], sister to [Adelaide], youngest of the wallflowers.
This wealthy pair of siblings come from New York, America, venturing into London to find themselves
titled husbands due to their mother's persistence.

[Autumn ♀] is the wilder of the [Cosette]'s.
Beautiful and bold, she quickly realized that her independent American ways is not the "thing".
While London ladies were expected to be modest, shy, and graceful,
[Autumn ♂] is stubborn, arrogant, and manipulative. The list goes on.
Such is why London aristocrats don't want to do anything with her.

Top on the list is [Autumn ♂], the earl of Stafford who is as straight as a comb
when it comes to rules.No scandal has ever found its way to the earl's family.
He's respectable, dominant, and is an aristocrat with the bluest of blood.

They both despise each other to the extent that they can't stand each other's presence in the same room.
But is it really that or is it the electricity that both of them feel when their eyes meet?

And what more when they find out that the earl is suffering from an arranged marriage?




» Secrets of a Winter Morning

[Winter ♀] is the shyest of the group to the extent that she stammers everytime she tries to speak.
She also has subtle beauty that most don't notice due to her wallflower status.
This girl's mother was a titled woman who married a commoner.
Her mother however, died upon giving birth to [Winter ♀].
The family on her mother's side directed their hate from [Winter ♀]'s mother to her,
seeking to abuse her with every little reasons that they can find.

It would also seem that [Winter ♀] would be the richest of the wall flowers once her inheritance comes due.
Her "family", consumed by greed, wants to marry her into one of her cousins in hopes to
get their hands on [Winter ♀]'s inheritance. Driven with the need to escape from her relatives,
[Winter ♀] goes to deal a bargain with a devil.

Viscount [Winter ♂], is an infamous rake that thirty seconds
alone with him would forever besmirch one's reputation.
[Winter ♂] is under the threat of losing every wealth he had ever owned
once his father dies and so he searches for a wealthy wife.
He has fixed his sights on [Autumn ♀], the older of the American sisters.

But that was until [Winter ♀] appears on his doorstep, unchaperoned,
bringing with her the one bargain he had never considered before.
And the more time he spends with [Winter ♀],
the more does the idea of wealth fades from his mind.

Replaced with the curse that he once promised to never submit to.

And so he decides to take on the seduction of a lifetime,
and surrender his heart for the first time.

In the name of true love.

Part Two~



» Promises of Spring

The story of the younger sister of [Autumn ♀].
[Adelaide Eleanor Cosette] is by far the most romantic, and youngest of the wallflowers.
She doesn't have to be dragged, kicking and screaming, into love.
She wants to marry for love, wishes for it.

Consumed by the power of books, [Adelaide] rarely has the time to associate herself with other people.
And so her father has decided to give her a deadline else she'll have to submit to an arranged marriage.
[Adelaide] is horrified. But she's never one to admit defeat.
And so she decides to find someone, anyone, other than her fiance [Spring ♂].
But she never realized that [Spring ♂] practically oozes with unexpected charm and sensuality.

[Spring ♂] is an American, wealthy and hardworking.
And [Adelaide]'s father already sees him as his own son.
[Spring ♂] was surprised when [Adelaide] came up to him screaming about how she'll
never marry him. Upon finding out about the arrangement, [Spring ♂] was torn.
He has always loved [Adelaide] since the moment he set his eyes on her when they were younger.
But his past holds him back, a terrible secret that threatens to ruin everything.
[Spring ♂] was accused of theft, and despite his innocence, he was forced to run.

[Adelaide] eventually falls prey to [Spring ♂]'s charm and falls in love.
[Spring ♂] tries hard to keep her away but upon realizing that their love can no longer
be ignored, he was forced to admit to [Adelaide] about his past.
She was surprised, but she reassured him that
she believed his innocence and her love would overcome all that.
[Spring ♂] refused and was forced to leave and settle everything.

Days, weeks, and months passed, eventually justice was served to [Spring ♂].
Eagerly, he returns to [Adelaide].

But does the love that she once promised still exists?
Or had time succeeded to turn this love into nothingness?




Vacation behind the Theater Curtains «

[Madeline Lilian Scott], the last of the wallflowers, posses an exotic beauty of her own
which is often shadowed by others. Her parents refused to dress her according
to her age, insisting that she need not to attract other men when she's already
promised to someone else, a childhood friend of hers, [Autumn ♂].

Both [Madeline] and [Autumn ♂] were secretly against the engagement
since they both see each other as a sibling.
[Madeline] yearned the life of a free lady, dreaming to adorn herself with gowns
suitable of her age and dresses that accentuate her beauty.
She resented the childish, high-necked dresses that she was forced to wear.
And so she decided to take the one path that would clear her of the arranged marriage she was thrust into.

She would have an affair with someone.

[Madeline] ran away from home, telling her parents that she will be staying in
Stone Cross where [Autumn ♂] lived. And her parents have never been happier.
What they didn't know was that [Madeline] sought out a famous theater actor, [Theater ♂].
[Theater ♂] was an acclaimed actor and a notorious womanizer, owner of the Capital Theater.
Despite being a legend in terms of acting, [Theater ♂] is an extremely private and guarded individual.
Hardened by his past, he refuses to openly show his emotions and his weaknesses.
He is the unknown son of the Duke of Marsden, possibly the only family
who can rise to the fame and nobility of the [Autumn ♂'s lastname].
He was renounced the moment he decided to take the path of acting
and there was no ounce of regret on [Theater ♂]'s side.

When [Madeline] appeared before him, openly making her intention of being his next lover clear,
[Theater ♂] was caught off guard. Detest toward [Madeline] rolled off of him in waves.
But [Madeline] refused to give up. She employed herself in the theater, working
wherever she was needed whether it was in cleaning, costume making, or paperwork.
[Madeline]'s vibrant charm and innocent beauty slowly made its way into [Theater ♂]'s system.

Eventually, [Theater ♂] found himself yearning for the girl.
And just when he finally gave up resistance, [Madeline]'s plot was revealed to him.
Just how would [Theater ♂] react to this betrayal? If ever it was a betrayal.

Would he ever believe [Madeline] when she admits her love for him?
Will [Theater ♂] ever admit to himself that, finally, he has fallen in love?

» Rule i;; The Main Thing


Alright people, first things first, we must all follow Gaia's TOS. We don’t want to get banned now, do we? Nooo, we don’t. Secondly, since theValentine-Wiitch- created this thread, she is GODDESS here. So respect her as you should and she will respect you too. As well that I – nimanii – am the co-owner so respect is demanded on my side as well. Being goddess(es) doesn’t allow us to god-mode so it doesn’t allow you people to god-mode either, got that? Good. Kay, we will allow violence, swearing, and romance in this thread… to a DECENT DEGREE. I hope you’re literate enough to understand this, if not, get out of our thread and in the words of Valentine, “Go drown yourself, thanks.” Sure enough, I’m not as malicious as her so if you feel intimidated by her, please come and talk to me if you are not up to speaking with The Witch. And I’m sure everybody else knows this, ABSOLUTELY NO CYBERING in this thread. In her words again, “No one wants to see them here you sicko. Shoo.”



» Rule ii;; Literacy and Commitment


Literacy – the either cursed, or blessed word that role-players all overhear. By literacy, we mean that proper use of grammar, spelling, and punctuation is mandatory. Absolutely no text talk, cause 1f U ritE 2 me l1ek d1s, Valentine will be doing some serious damage to you while I watch idly in the corner and pray that she stops. And don’t you dare think she won’t – because she will! The minimum – and we stress minimum – is three paragraphs. And heaven forbid you don’t know what a paragraph looks like. Valentine is now making some lethal threat about you committing suicide because she doesn’t want to touch anyone who doesn’t know what a paragraph looks like.

Literacy includes commitment. This is going to be a long-term role-play, so if you are planning on staying for a bit, stop reading, and leave immediately. We don’t want the likes of you to be lingering on our thread. We expect AT LEAST one post every three days. If you don’t post on the third day, a warning – either from me or Valentine – will arrive. Seventh day with unexplained absence will result in the boot – if you get my drift. Even with or without an excuse, a month of disappearance is unacceptable. Legitimate excuses are required. If you wish to quit – which we hope you don’t ever do – please just inform us. If not, we will kill your character and believe us when we say, “You can be replaced”. The only person this doesn’t apply to is theValentine-Wiitch- and I think that’s it. I don’t think I have immunity from this, but hey, I’m not going to make a stupid mistake and anger The Witch. » Rule iii;; Profiles and Characters


So you’ve reached to this section of the rules department? We applaud you for taking this daring step. Okay, now continuing.

For profiles and characters, we are not reserving. Read that and let it swirl in your mind for the time-being. We are accepting applicants, but its three per character max (Witch: And we will move from there to choose the best of the three. <3). So if youre interested, drop both of us a background check. Once we give you the go signal, you can start on the profile itself. There is a profile skeleton lying around somewhere – please have the care to look – and USE it! Valentine literally means to USE it. No editing or adding anything else unless you are inputting your character’s damn information. She gave up blood, sweat, time, and effort for the skeletons so allow me to repeat this: U-S-E them. And what is a profile without a little creativity? Trash! Garbage! That’s what it is. That's why we want you to add a dump load of creativity, but remember to reference to the little background of each character that Valentine provided for you guys. It also has a bit of information on personality traits, but you don't have to take them word for word. We encourage you to make your character stand out from the other applicants but don't stray too far from their persona.

One other thing. If your character is anti-social (unless it is vital to the role-play), do not whine that she/he isn’t getting any attention from the rest of us. If you hope for that empathetic, “Look at her/him in the corner by him/herself. Let us go and talk to him/her,” you are in for some tough luck. Valentine will just laugh at you – sorry amigo. If you believe you have a character that stands above these rules, go ahead and plan your character. We only want the best of the best (but that doesn't mean you suck, kay?). Who doesn't want the best? When sending the background checks, title the private messages: I'm under the spell of the Wiitch. If you pass through our damn screening process, go feel free and make your profile when you do finally finish it, please post it in the OOC thread.



» Rule iv;; Posting and OOC


Won’t you look at that? You’re almost done! This will be short because most things that need to be said here are said in Rule II.

Anyway, what more can we demand from you other than three paragraphs (minimum) of role-playing goodness? Three god-loving words. PICTURES, QUOTES, AND COLORS! Okay, so maybe it was four words, but you can tell the police after you finish reading. So we are basically saying, “PRETTY POSTS”! Let your imagination run wild so that it paints your post in a unique way. For pictures, please don’t make them stretch the page. Reduce the size so it fits snuggly with the rest of the post. You can put quotes, or tidbits of information on your character, or lyrics. Anything you’d like. And colors! BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL COLOURS THAT HARMONIZE! And make them awesome-liciuos (Dear god, what have I done?) colors. Not just plain red, or blue. Nothing that’s neon or blinds the eye. If you MUST blind my eyes, give me a diamond ring the size of my fist. That’ll keep you loved. Font should be from sizes 9-10, and maybe 11. As well, we ask that you post in the OOC because characters will be chosen as well on the applicant. We want to see if he/she is around often, friendly, and stuff that will be surely noticed via OOC. But please don't suck up. No points for that.That’s about it for posting!



» Rule v;; Have Fun


Stretch your legs and rub your red eyes. You’re typically done! Our threats and curses have diminished in this rule. Even Valentine’s. Why? Because the core reason to this role-play is to have fun. And to have fun, we should not ignore other people. Get involved and talk in the OOC and make your character talk with others! This is why we hate anti-social characters – just because they suck the life out of everything. If we see you ignoring anyone, you will be kicked out (that doesn’t count as a threat, does it?) (Witch: Nah.. dont think so Nii, but we WILL kick out when other people start complaining about said ignoring. Hehe..) . Let us remind you that your character constantly talking to him/herself is not a fun activity. We might assume that he/she has mental issues and may be turned away. Don’t attempt this in the role-play. Okay, so that’s it.

» Stone Cross Park


This is where most of our story will take place. This estate is owned by the
Earl of Stafford, which you know as Lord Autumn. This place is located in the
country-side, Hampshire. The manor, well, mansion, itself is able to hold a vast
number of guests which is necessary when balls, soirees, and meetings are
being held in Stone Cross. This place also include a butterfly farm, a stable along with
a riding course, a wishing well, an orangery, and several acres of woods that
can give one the privilege to hunt in or just simple walk through. The place is beautiful
indeed but be careful not to get lost.



» The Rutledge


The Rutledge is the most known hotel in London, expensive and luxurious,
this place serves as a home for visiting tourists in London. Suites are very much
grand inside and the accommodation is quite charming. The ones who probably
stay here are the Cosette family, Sir Spring, and Sir Summer.



» Capital Theater


The most famous theater house located at the heart of London.
It is also home to the known actor, Lord Theater, and his territory.
Plays performed in this theater is no less than perfect. Most of the times, the
seats in this theater are full and the audience always walks out without being
disappointed no matter how high their expectations. It's also a good place to
pass the time, though of course, the ticket itself is a bit.. expensive as well.



» Seventh Avenue


A second-rate gambling place located at the darker corners of London
just a few blocks away from the residential place of Mayfair. Its not easily spotted
unless you are brought or guided inside it. Formerly owned by Lady Winter's father,
but upon his death, Lord Winter hesitantly took over it and eventually brought it
up from scratch and polished it to be a first-rate gambling place worthy of
the most wealthy of lords who are willing to gamble away their feathers.



» Mayfair


The residential area of London. Numerous shops line up the main street
of this place. Inns and taverns are scattered in the dark corners of Mayfair as well.
A sophisticated aura envelops Mayfair for most of the peerage lives here. The list
includes Lady Summer, Lady Winter, Lady Theater, and Lord Winter.

(1) What is the point of this roleplay?


- -Though I very much love the plot of their stories, this roleplay revolves around character development. While the pressure of being married is constantly mentioned, youre not required to actually marry. I personally think that the story before the marriage is much more exciting and gives way to more developments rather than after marriage.



(2) I noticed you used the word peer and peerage often. What does it mean?


- -Peer is another word for aristocrat and Peerage is another word for aristocracy. I just like using peer/age better. Less typos too.



(3) I also noticed that there are several males where you called Sir and not Lord, also with the Miss
___and Lady. Does this mean anything?


- -Ah yes, there is a simple explanation for this. Sir and Miss are used to respect individuals out of peerage while Lord and Lady for peers. Get? I made a mistake earlier of referring to all females as ladies, but Ive already corrected it.



(4) Since our setting is in old London, is there anything we ought to know?


- -Yep, there are a lot of things to remember. Etiquette and fashion will be the one's I'll be stressing much on. Lets start on fashion first. With men, it's so much simpler since they very much just require a coat-and-tie combo most of the time. Shirts and trousers are a common choice too, but not in public. Whereas for ladies, it's much more.. complicated. Remember this is an era where respect, honor, and dignity are very much cared for. This is a conservative era. Ladies are very much expected to wear layers upon layers of clothing. Chemise, garters, drawers, stockings, corsets, undergarments-- the kind that looks like a pajama, yes-- ankle-length dresses, and gloves. Perhaps the only revealing thing here is their busts which is very much pushed upwards and enhanced due to tight corsets that almost doesnt allow room for breathing. The showing of ankles, much more of legs, even just the shape of it, is considered a vulgar act.

In terms of etiquette, there isnt much to say about men, they are free to do what they want-- just not to talk about actual labor work in public, it is to note that men in peerage dislike working and exerting effort physically in terms of labor. The only activities men would actually like doing are horse-back riding, gambling, or hunting, or even having an affair. Fidelity isnt a big issue in marriage, it is already accepted that males are allowed to have mistresses even during marriage, and their wives rarely complain against it for most marriages in aristocracy are marriage of convenience and therefore, allowing no emotions or affections between husband and wife, love is not important in marriage. Ladies however, are expected to act graceful, stay quiet, offer no more than smiles from afar and to not join any conversations of men. Their comments are not welcomed and are mostly looked down upon. They are rarely permitted to express their attractions openly and are only expected to hint at it. They are never the one to lead, or chase.

(5) You know, some of your layouts doesnt match.


- -I KNOW RIGHT. I hate it so much. -.-;; There are times that they connect to each other while after refreshing, the line that disconnects the two pictures appear. I gave up fixing it after 198765456788765456 tries.



(6) What were you thinking categorizing "vacation" as a season?


- -Weeeelllll... originally, the Wallflower series only has four books in it-- well five if you include the after-book which is "A Wallflower Christmas" but this book only tells of the story of the four wallflowers after their husband-hunting, and so its not really well.. it doesnt really sit well for me to use it. The fifth book which is the fifth story in this rp is a different book from a different series. I took some time to deliberate about what to do with the fifth book and I really have no idea what to use anymore since I pretty much used up all the seasons. The idea of "vacation" just came to me realizing that it's almost March so I thought, why not? And so there it is.


(7) Anything else?


- -No, not at this moment but then again Im a person who easily forgets. I might add something later, I might not. But I will ask you to check the announcement post, the one after this, quite often. Cause unlike most rps where the only input in their announcements are "rp created" and "rp opened", I like updating things to keep track of my stuff. So yeah, check it and that's all for now.
