Maid/Butler Roleplay Search

Hey guys Silas here and I'm on the search for something I haven't done in a long time, A Maid Roleplay. I mean they used to be all the rage in my hayday, but have slowly gone out of style. My favorites were the action oriented battle-maids, where you protected your ward at all costs and had some serious moments mixed in with hi-jinks and funny moments between the fun and action.

I have one idea that could work for a group roleplay if some people were interested.

Like a secret organization of Maids and Butlers that, during the Victorian era, were dispatched to protect VIP's such as the queen or some sort of royalty from demons or other such monsters. Think of Black Butler, but with the Butlers killing demons instead of being one.

Just an idea that sounds relatively fun and interesting. However it doesn't have to be the only thing. I'm not interested in 1 x 1's, but rather a small or medium group that can allow me to post after work or on the weekends without being too mad at me. Post below if you're interested. I guess first come, first serve.

P.S. I'm Semi-lit due to time constraints and my posting schedule is usually later at night and some days I may be too tired to post, I'm looking for people who can be active after 7PM EST. I work 9 hours a day so I hope you guys can understand.

My guess is it would depend on the way the group wants to play it, but judging by gaia standards there'll be a good mix of serious moody dark stuff with funny light-hearted jokes and fun times. Roleplays typically have a hard time keeping up with a mood, kind of like television. Like Supernatural doesn't keep the same serious tone all throughout the show, because its good to have a nice mixture. Or the Office (US version, haven't seen the UK version) is initially just comedy, but quickly develops drama.

But its cool to see another person interested in this type of game, it sucks to have seen it basically disappear.

I blame my want to play maids solely on this ttrpg. But you're right, when Gaia was young, it was all the rage. I don't know what happened.

...rarely see action oriented maid/butler ideas nowadays. if anything they tend to be romantic/fetishist. this looks rather promising and had gotten my interest tickled.

I have Maid the Roleplaying game too on my computer (and a printed out version) my friends and I play it as a party game when we aren't playing Dungeonworld or Fiasco

It makes me feel old when I realize how long I've been on Gaia through my various accounts and have seen all of the changes.

I hope more people show an interest, I really want to try and get together a group before the weekend is over and I have to start work. My phone is too old for the Gaia app on android so its hard to check forums and stuff when I'm supposed to be working.

Thanks for the interest. I'm not big into playing pure romance, because I like action and interesting reactions vs the typical romance stuff. I like romance though as long as its interesting and involves a clashing of egos and a change of character with a fluid relationship, those are typically interesting.

I had the pdf for ages but I eventually got a copy during the Golden Sky Stories kickstarter ^3^

Yeah it's weird to think how much time I've wasted on this site over the years. But I've had some good times and through it met some great people.

The gaia phone app blows - if you can just go to the site on your phone's browser. Gaia refuses to make a mobile site but it still works better than their app.

Thanks for the interest. I'm not big into playing pure romance, because I like action and interesting reactions vs the typical romance stuff. I like romance though as long as its interesting and involves a clashing of egos and a change of character with a fluid relationship, those are typically interesting.

Nothing crazy! XD hahaha.

Been looking into something action oriented/duty bound for the maid/butler archetype really. Romance optional. Combat servants aren't so much the rage lately even with Black Butler but hey we could try to make something happen! biggrin

They could be members/offshot arm of the Templar Knights of kind that's why they fight against the supernaturally so efficiently. /whistles

I also hope people noted the timeframe, I chose it because that era has the fun maid outfits, but its negotiable if enough people don't like it. Plus its my favorite era of British history and the height of the empire.

That's a good one too! We can have the maids/butlers be the modern day equivalents of knights and they're also being backed by the holiest of holies.
