"Born on the Isle of Brittany, Corentine Esther York was the first and only child of Azelice Berthou and Daniel Baptiste. Her mother had been a native islander, the daughter of a teacher and a sailor, barely sixteen when she met Daniel. Her flaw was that she fell in love too easily, and as such was prone to being taken advantage of. Daniel was a business man from Marseille, and he fell in love with not only the Breton culture, but also Azelice. However, their love was short, and Corentine came as a pleasant surprise to Azelice, and a nuisance to Daniel, who had planned on leaving soon after. The French man waited long enough for his b*****d daughter to be born, and then he left for France. Azelice would later realize that he already had a wife, and she was nothing more than a distraction.

Some women would take this opportunity to sulk around and mistreat their child, but Azelice did not. In fact, the girl made it her job to nurture Corentine for the first two years of her life, meanwhile supporting a job. The two had a nice one-story house, and they were respected by their neighbors for their quiet dispositions. Then Azelice found another man, and they married. Corentine and her mother both took the surname York, and for the moment it looked like Azelice had found a decent man. But, unfortunately, her luck was just as bad the second time.

Loic York, handsome though he might have been, couldn't hold his temper. And so the residents of the York household slowly became bitter. Though they were once known for being quiet and polite, the neighbors began to complain as the off and on fits of throwing items, screaming, and crying occurred. No true action was really taken to stop it, and so it went on.

Corentine got her first computer when she was twelve. The child was strange; anti-social and clingy. They were fairly sure she had some kind of mental disorder, but it never went diagnosed. (To this day, it still isn't.) She stuck to hobbies for a while, and the computer was one of these. First she started off with online gaming, the kind of crappy pinball and minesweeper stuff. Then it progressed to forum-perusing. Then came roleplaying, both paragraph-based and script. All of these were distractions, ways to avoid her father and mother. Ironically, if not for the internet, she probably would've been as bitter as her parents. (But even now, she still has a slightly optimistic mood, like she knows she hit rock bottom, and it's better now.)

The black-box hacking didn't start until she was seventeen, and even then it began in inclements. She didn't charge head-first into it; she just took the slow train. Her first 'project' was brute-forcing her way into an admin account for a friend. It snow-balled after that, and Corentine found herself being shown the darker forums of the internet, where jackasses who lived in their mom's basement and trolls who wouldn't stop thrived. She joined several under the handle 'reverie', and slowly gained more knowledge in the world of hacking.

And then her world got turned upside down again, with Daniel Baptiste bursting back into her life after eighteen years of absence. He had recently become divorced, and had lost custody of his children. He wanted to bring Corentine back to Marsaille with him, where he could promise her a career as a model, if she wanted. It was a legitimate offer, and Corentine did almost accept. It would not only get her out of the household, it would get her a legitimate income source. Eventually, she did end up moving to France, but not to Marsaille, and most certainly not with Monsieur Baptiste. The girl got a tiny apartment in Paris, and there she took college courses, and tried to handle a job. During this time period, the 'Carnival Incident' occurred.

She was clean from hacking for two years before she got started up again. Her reappearance on the hacking forums was not nearly as celebrated as she expected it to be, as she resurfaced just in time for Danish to disappear. It took a while to catch up, but she did eventually. Corentine made a pact to herself that she wouldn't ******** up this time, and she could get back into the system, as it were."

"Danish's challenge was almost too good to be true. She had enough money set aside from her hacking adventures to make it for about a month in Montreal, as well as enough for two tickets. The plane trip was long and boring, but it was also the most sleep she had gotten in one sitting for probably two years. She passed through security with ease, apparently she still didn't have any blemishes on her record.

Montreal was... Different. She had forgotten how different Canadian French could be, but she could at least pass for it. Her English was mildly acceptable; she knew enough to hold a conversation. Forum-lurking had helped, as she had not only a firm grasp on the language, but also a catalogue of colourful curses. "

"The Carnival Incident is hard to describe, despite its infamy on several boards for a while. Its fame was short-lived, and not many people thought that reverie would be able to pull something off like that, so many dismissed it as fake or luck. It involved a rather clumsy Interpol agent, who had apparently skipped internet safety day in secondary school, because he ended up forwarding one of Cornetine's phishing scams to an equally clumsy CIA agent. To make a very, very awkward story short, that was the main factor in causing Corentine to give up hacking for a full two years; mainly to avoid showing up on any radars. #all agents are advised to be on high-alert for brown-haired, brown-eyed women around twenty of slightly above average height #because that'll work

She has a particular hatred of eye-contact, and can be described as awkward or shy because of it. It began as a simple annoyance, and slowly developed into a full-blown phobia. Corentine purposefully avoids eye-contact, as she could possibly have a full-on panic attack if she does happen to look into someone else's eyes while they are looking at her."

While he doesn't come into the limelight for every instance of a "fiercekyo" attack -- because come on, that's just too suspicious -- Damian has a heavy hand in making sure that false arrests go cold/acquitted by lack of connection and that the real identity of "fiercekyo" remains anonymous."

"Since the day he was born, Damian was an over-privileged child, practically given the entire world to do with as he pleased. The Nichols family was blessed with riches and strong connections to the government due to the overwhelming success of his politician-bound father. However, when Harper Nichols and his wife had their first child, they never suspected how difficult it would become. From birth, Damian was a very sickly child due to his weakened immune system from being born with albinism. Had it not been for the vast wealth of the Nichols name to spend on the costly care, few doctors believed they would've had the resources to keep the baby in reasonable health. After a few tricky years, Damian's condition stabilized enough to allow him a somewhat normal childhood.

Because Damian required so much attention early in his life and with his parents being so busy, the Nichols only had one son -- and they showered him with gifts immensely. Whatever the boy asked for, he was sure to receive it. It was to make for the fact that Damian constantly needed a medical aide to keep an eye on him and play nanny while both parents were away so much on business. But the young boy hardly found the time to resent them for it. Instead, he took quickly to reading his father's literature to pass the time, spending plenty of time indoors since he was too sickly to go outside and play often. Surprisingly enough, Damian turned out to be quite the gifted child, reading his father's law records, political articles, and reference books with high understanding at an incredibly early age. It was only a matter of time before he was also browsing through high poetry, scientific studies, and computer science manuals. He even possessed an eidetic memory, making him far more intelligent as he developed. Where his frailty failed him, his mind developed into something truly spectacular. Considering his vast interests, his caretakers started to consider him a cut of his father's cloth, a child prodigy.

It was at the young age of 11 did he fully realize his hobby interest in technology. After reading enough manuals and studying plenty of system builds, Damian started to tinker with creating homebrew computer systems. At first, they were but small time works, things to do menial tasks, entertain, and hone his technique, but then he began to love the process of programming. This unique interest blossomed into his desire to play around with other programs -- to hack other people's computers and test the strength of other systems against his talent under the handle "fierceyko". It was illegal, yes, but Damian hardly cared. It's not like he was deliberately trying to hurt anyone; it was just curiosity. Besides, who would dare to accuse an 11-year-old of such a crime, let alone the esteemed child of the Nichols family? There was no consequence. And because of the security in his background, Damian did his deeds and went untraced for over a decade. #it's not illegal if you don't get caught

Over time, "fiercekyo" only refined his hacker talents and turning more ruthless in his attacks. But in real life, Damian Nichols continued on with his lavish lifestyle like nothing was happening. After years of wowing people with his impressive knowledge and earning his place in high society, the young master Nichols went on to get a higher education. Considering his family's reputation in politics, you'd think he'd just take after his father. But instead, Damian chose to take up a formal interest in criminal justice and criminal psychology. If only they knew how ironic his choice in career was... Taking after his father's talent though, using his wit and charisma as an attorney paid off in spades. At the age of 23, Damian completed his Yale education and passed the bar exam to become a full-fledged attorney. Oh how deadly the system allowed him to become.

Only a year or two after Damian became an attorney, allegations of fraud and scandals surrounded the Nichols family that seemingly came out of nowhere. The affair quickly ruined reputation of family,and the police brought up charges using evidence obtained by "an informant".
As an attorney, Damian represented his family in court and won a reduced sentence of 18 months for his father, followed by an appeal for supervised release because of the high amount of circumstantial evidence. Though, the family never quite recovered from the infamy once all was said and done. This left Damian quite bitter about the whole incident, and vowed to become one of the most invincible hackers to assure that no one would dare try this sort of stunt again.

Then, something strange happened from out of nowhere.

After years of successful scandalous attacks and staying just beyond the law's reach, the seemingly invincible "fiercekyo" was caught and convicted of his crimes after trying a blatant attempt at breaking into the FBI database, presumably to destroy valuable data and cause havoc. However, due to his high connections both above and below the law, his sentencing was reduced to only 15 months compared to the numerous years they wanted to give him. As part of his incarceration and plea deal, his username was never released to the public, and it was presumed by the hacking community that "fiercekyo" went underground during this time.

After being released from prison and placed under supervised release, the government kept their eyes on Damian to be sure he wouldn't be back to his "evil" ways. It wasn't long after the Danish disappearance went viral and tempted "fiercekyo" back into the game without hesitation. Even with government eyes watching him like a hawk, Damian pulled together a wonderful plan. He decided to use his knowledge of the law and offer his services to the FBI Cyber Crime division, and subsequently Interpol's equivalent, claiming to be a institutionalized man with a desire to use his talents for a better cause. In reality, he secretly used it as a ruse to fuel his hacker desires and get closer to the Danish case, thinking he'd be privvy to government tech and intel and give himself a leg-up on the race to Danish and their information cache.

"Ever since Danish issued their viral challenge, Damian has been keeping a keen eye on the activity surrounding the message, backtracing IPs, monitoring movements by those involved with it, and using Interpol resources to conduct a deep analysis on the original message and any possible encrpytions it might contain. Once it was confirmed that a lead on Danish and their information stash was discovered in Montreal, Interpol authorized a follow-up to look into it further. To keep a low profile, they sent a small team consisting of their "security analyst" Damian and a handful of agents to investigate the lead.

The team is currently using an unlisted safehouse within the city limits of Montreal with solid encrypted online connection to operate anonymously, per the request of Damian. // A direct statement from Damian on the matter: "Trusting an undercover operation to the low-level security of other wireless sources would compromise whatever advantage we have. The more encryption, the better, right?" //

"Medical records officially state that Damian has oculocutaneous albinism (OCA2), but only exhibits moderate developmental symptoms overall. Aside from the obvious physical traits caused from the disorder (white hair, red eyes, pale skin), doctors report that his case shows an aggressive degeneration of the eyes, resulting in fast-developing astigmatism and myopia. Current records show a visual acuity of 20/154, which is continuing to decreasing (analysis based on biannual optometry records). Correction requires constant use of lenses for vision beyond 10 feet, with some permitted use of contact lenses."
