Elemental Magic: She deals in fire elemental magic. She can manipulate flames that are already burning, such as a fireplace or a candle. However, if nothing is present, she could heat up the air to create a flame, although this takes more mana. It is more practical and cost efficient to manipulate fire from a hearth rather than make her own. She could also harness the already existing flames to create more fire from that, if that was he desire. However, if this is done incorrectly, she might lose control over it. Being trained in the guild for a majority of her life though, all of this is possible, and she probably wouldn't accidentally burn down a building, however certain actions would cost more mana, and her surroundings limit her abilities somewhat.

Manipulation: As she grew older, she discovered that if she played her cards right, she could get people to do what she wanted. It started off as simple stuff, like getting her a glass of water. As time went on, it escalated to more important things, like doing the chores assigned to her by the guild. She learned that if done correctly, most anyone is susceptible. This was a skill she had to learn by herself. People don't teach this stuff, they just have to figure it out.

Etiquette: Before she was sent to the casters guild, she had just enough time to learn proper etiquette, though not much else. She probably wouldn't be a very good dancer, but she learned the proper way to talk, walk, and eat. As well as how to talk to other nobility. Other skills, she never had a chance to learn before everyone discovered she was a caster.

Manipulative: She likes getting what she wants, and she would do most anything to get it. There are, of course, a few people who she wouldn't dare to manipulate directly. However, it is always possible to manipulate them through another. This takes more planning, but it really isn't all that difficult if one knows what they are doing.

Spiteful: She knows how to hold a grudge. For a very long time. Her parents sent her away at the age of nine, and all those years, she's been holding her grudge. She felt abandoned by her family when she was sent away, and ever since she's vowed to find some way to get back at her family for throwing her away like that.

Jealous: She's only ever been jealous of one person, and that would be her older brother. He was the firstborn, and the only son. Of course he was the favorite, and she resents him for it. Part of her knows it isn't his fault that he was born first. No more than it was her fault for being born second. But the other part of her doesn't care. Her entire family, never seems to want to look at her, like she was some sort of b*****d child.

Conservative kindness: She is kind to the people she feels deserve it. There are very few people that she sees this way, however. Most people see her as cold-hearted person, who doesn't even know the meaning of the word 'kindness'. This isn't true. There are a select few people who she allows to see this true side to her. Her blood related family is not in the count.

              °°°HISTORY
Lelianna was born as the second child to the Archduke of Vitascuren. She wasn't a planned child, and not to mention she was the second-born and a female. Maybe she was just over analyzing things, but it always seemed to her that she was never good enough for her father. She had a relatively simple, yet boring life. She learned all the proper etiquette a young lady was supposed to know.

However, when she was nine, she was left alone to read. She very rarely had time to herself, so whenever she did, she read books. However, this particular tome seemed to be above her reading level at the time, and she was bored. She took to staring at the fire in the hearth, just because it was something to do. She couldn't explain why, but fire never really scared her, like it did most others. However, as she was staring, she found herself wanting the dying embers to be brighter. And just like that, the fire flared up right before her eyes. When that happened, she wasted no time in telling her father of the occurrence.

If she was expecting some sort of recognition that she was more than just an unwanted daughter, she was sadly mistaken. It seemed as soon as the words left her lips, he sent her packing off to the Casters Guild, until her training was complete. Any want to make her father proud died that day. In her eyes, she was cast aside until she grew to be more useful to him. And the only way a girl would be useful was when she was married off to some noble lord to give him sons.

It turned out that the Guild wasn't really all that bad, except the part where she had to clean and do chores. After a few years of that, she was able to figure out ways to get others to do the work for her, and she didn't have to callus her silky smooth hands. While living there, she met a woman named Fayne. It was obvious to Lelianna that this woman wasn't exactly open with most people. However, Her and Fayne became fast friends during her time in the Guild. Most of the time, her and Fayne would spend their free time in the older woman's office reading, just enjoying each others company. Whenever one would have some sort of trouble, they would vent to the other, and receive condolences. Sometimes Fayne would brush Lelianna's hair when the knots got too much for the young fire caster.

The years passed, and it was finally time for Lelianna to go home. She thought she would be glad to finally be going home, but she wasn't. She actually had a friend here. And purpose. Going back home would mean going back to a place that hated her, and a place where her only purpose was to get married so her father could get more power. But she didn't have a choice. She was escorted back home, and now it was time for a new chapter in her life to begin.

Sword Training: She took up sword training shortly after she arrived in Fissa when she was 11 years old. She proved a quick learner with the sword. despite never even touching one before that very day. She learned possibly every trick their was to learn when wielding a sword. She learned to defend with it first, and then how to go on the offensive. She learned to parry, and block, and even how to lock her sword with her opponents. Of course, the latter only works if the opponent is also using a sword.

Hand-to-Hand Combat: Although not the best martial artist in the world, she had shown a sort of affinity towards this as well. It was easier to learn than sword fighting had been, however she found it harder to do. She could memorize the steps easily enough, but actually putting them to practice was another matter.

Vigilant: Robyn never truly lets her guard down. She is always aware of her surroundings, even while off duty. The only real time someone could catch her off guard, would be if she was sleeping, and they attacked in the night. Even then, they may not succeed, as she is a very light sleeper, and always keeps a weapon close at hand while she is sleeping.

Loyal: Robyn is a very loyal person. There was only once where she had betrayed someone. Several people, actually. After that incident, she vowed to never do so again. As a result, she is always loyal to whomever she is serving at the moment. Upon being hired by the Viscount of Fissa, she swore that she would do whatever he asked of her, and she hasn't failed him yet.

Strong: She is strong both physically and emotionally. The physical aspect of her strength came about from waving that sword of hers around, but she is also strong emotionally. It would take a lot for someone to get to her with anything. This stems from her betrayal. She already lost what should have been the most important people in her life, what else could someone threaten? The only thing she had to lose was her life, but she had never feared dying.

Man-ish: Not in attitude or the way she acts, but in the way she thinks. She thinks of certain situations, the same way a man would. She even thinks of certain individuals the way a man would. When she was younger, she quickly discovered that she wasn't attracted to men. As a result, she started looking at, and thinking about, women in the way most men would. However, do to her... backwards thinking, she even reacts to certain situations differently than a normal woman would.

              °°°HISTORY
Robyn was the first born daughter of a farmer and his wife. Her given name was Jhiquey Malan. Her parents had come to their small village in the hold of Fissa from an even smaller village in Daruj. So they brought all their customs, and strange names with them. Jhiquey was the eldest of six other sisters. Her parents never managed to have a son. Her mother died giving birth to the sixth daughter. After that, her father took to drinking.

One day, she overheard that her father planned on selling the oldest of his daughters to the local brothel. He was deep in his cups, and speaking to a man only he could see. Yet, it scared young Jhiquey more than could have described. That very same night, she snuck away into a merchant cart. This cart traveled throughout the Hold of Fissa. She didn't know where the cart was bound next, but the very next morning the cart left town before even the sun rose, taking Jhiquey with it. Away from her sisters who would soon be sold into prostitution. That had been her first and last betrayal.

She hopped out of the cart in the very first place that it stopped. That just happened to be Fissa. It was then that she realized how dumb a plan this had been. She had no idea what to do next. She hadn't planned out her running away at all. Lucky for her that she looked so lost. It wasn't long before a man walked up to her, and asked what she was doing here, all by herself. She was only eleven, after all. So she told the man the truth: That she had run away from home to escape prostitution. The man smiled at her, and brought her to his home.

As it turned out, his wife couldn't have kids, and she had always wanted a daughter. So the couple decided to take her in. They asked her name, but she shook her head. "I want a new name." She told them. So they named her what the woman would have named her own daughter, if she could have had one: Robyn with their last name De Fleur. It didn't take as long as she thought it would to get used to her new name.

Shortly after they named her, she expressed her wishes to be taught how to defend herself. So her new father taught her everything she knew. It wasn't long before She made a name for herself by saving the Viscounts daughter from Brigands. It was the same day that the Viscount made her a personal guard, and granted her a sword that she named 'Oathkeeper'. She still serves the guard alongside the man who took her in all those years ago.

▬▬▬▬▬ POWER to conquer FATE

              ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

              °°°ARMOR

                  - Decorative traditional garments she preserved back from her years at the Azai Brothels. She prefers to keep her foreign outlook, finding the clothes outside her old culture to be shoddy and unappealing to her higher, biased tastes.
                  - Occasionally may wear self-made bone-crafted attire.
                  - Light Sandals (sometimes). She prefers not to wear anything on her feet, but she will put these on if she has to venture outside where the ground would be undesirable to walk on.
                  - A wide variety of golden ornaments for a mix of different means to keep her hair up. Most of the stuff she keeps in her hair could be sold for a fortune, and most of it is original Fan'Gwei craftsmanship. It's also a symbol of how wealthy she actually is, and how valuable and expensive she would be if you were to pay her for her 'services'.

              °°°WEAPONS
                  - Bone Whip (though picture it a tad bit longer), her main and only weapon she uses to attack from a distance, throw her foes off balance and to whip her flames around in a more flexible manner. It is also light and easy to hide and carry, making it a discrete and unexpected weapon. Pepper even handcrafted it herself and has mastered it's use, making her a formidable foe from a distance, though with her lack of (and love for) armour of any kind, it is vital she keeps things this way.
                  - Red and gold parasol for vanity reasons: Top view, Side view (not weapons)
                  - Red Fans for dancing and performances: View (not weapon)

              °°°ABILITIES
                  - Elemental Magic (Fire):
To sum it up: Pepper is a wildfire. More often than not, it seems like the fire controls her instead of the other way around. The way her magic works is based highly on her emotions. Whether it be manipulating existing flames nearby or creating it from the air itself, the results are usually the same. Her favourite things to do are twisting her flames while she dances to entice a victim, or simply forming her flames into recognizable shapes, figures or patterns when she feels playful. Also being a true pyromaniac at heart, she will find any excuse to simply burn something for the sake of watching it burn.

In the heat of battle (/snrk) she has very little limits when it comes to allowing her flames to go out of control. Fireballs are a personal favourite of hers since she can create them quickly and aim them with ease. In the case of more coverage, she will create a channelled flamethrower to ignite for longer and burn the environment around, inevitably causing more damage, but also draining her mana quicker. However, a disadvantage to her sometimes lack of self-contol is that she tends to run low on mana fairly quickly during fights if she is really riled up.

Also due to her artistic and playful nature, she may also choose to form her flames in the shapes of birds and dragons, controlling them as if they were actually beasts and sending them in the direction of her enemy. If she is angered, startled or surprised and if there happens to be torches, lanterns, bonfires, or candles in the area, the flames will react to her emotion and ignite brighter and grow larger. If candles are subtle and normal, that means she is in a good mood.

In the case of defence Pepper may either choose to create an unbearable wall of heat, seen in the form of the invisible haze you see above a bonfire. This keeps close-combat foes a distance, but still easy enough to get through. her other form of defence is a fire wall, but she mostly only uses that in the case of creating cover so she can disappear.

                  - Whiplash:
Funny enough Pepper learned this skill with using the whip from her years growing up dancing with a ribbon. A very uncommon choice of weaponry at that, it's her preferred choice as it keeps her at a distance, she can use it to disarm, harm, and throw an enemy off their feet. Not to mention it's quick and flexible, and she has great control it with her wrist. Even though her whip is made of bone, it has been fashioned and refined in such a way that it moves flexibly with her movements, and has been treated to be a lot more durable to withstand hard lashings to a person.

                  - Flexibility/ Agility:
Naturally she is built for this, she can quickly move in battle with little to hold her down and restrict her.

                  - Speechcraft:
Another obvious skill. Used greatly with persuasion and manipulation.

                  - Dancing/ Entertainment:
One of her greatest skills (and a harmless one at that), she enjoys to put on a grand performance whilst using her embers to increase the flare of the show. She enjoys this as well, as it is also a hobby.

                  - Bone Craftsmanship:
Something she acquired overtime as her skeletal collection began to grow. She began to craft things from them for fun, and soon discovered she had a knack for it. A shunned art, she has the skill to create wondrous and useful things from the bone of man.

Oh how I love the scent of burning wood in the air, to watch the sight of the world crumble as it is engulfed in the most passionate element! It even conquers the darkness…Is there anything more pure and true?"

                  Before Her Powers Set In

Even before her life had begun, Pepper was brought into the world with her path already chosen for her. As if this was fate or destiny's idea of a cruel joke, she was born as the unwanted child of a prostitute and given the name "Pan-Mei". The unknown mother of Pepper's origins with a debt to repay took the route she knew best. With both no choice and the best choice at hand, she sold her child to the brothel that employed her to pay back her dues. Pan-Mei was now the property of the brothel, to be raised to be nothing but a tool for profit and pleasure-on-demand by the rich, travelling and the the undesirable.

Brainwashed from youth, Pan-Mei was raised to believe that this was the norm, something all girls would do, and was the only thing and an 'orphaned' child like her could give back to the world. Born with an rare golden eye colour, the superstitious owners of the sex-trade viewed this as either an omen or a sign of good fortune. Her younger years consisted of mostly learning things such as etiquette, manners, when to speak, what not to say, along with other things for entertainment such as ribbon dancing, performing, and preparing tea for guests.

Another addition to the brothel was a couple strict rules put in place for it's servants. One, the girls had to say the short prayer every night Básteáinne so that she would bless them with good fortune for the brothel and it's workers. Any of the girls who did not follow this rule would get punished. The other rule was that the girls must always keep their hair up in the specific way. The only time they could have it down was when they were either sleeping alone or when they were bathing. It was supposed to symbolize a sign of 'preparedness' and 'strict loyalty, devotion, and respect' to both the brothel and to the customers. Any of the girls who broke this rule would also be severely punished. Unfortunately, like all children would, Pan-Mei had forgotten these rules on a few occasions and got to experience first hand what these punishments, or rather beatings felt like.

Once Pan-Mei had come of age, that being 12 years by the standards of the brothel, it was time for her to enter the world of service in which she had been trained for her entire, but short life. The virginity of the brothel girls was always one of their most profitable investments, as they were always sold for the highest bidder. This meant that a lot of pressure was to be put on Pan-Mei to enter womanhood as nothing more than a rental for a one night stand. To make her more desirable, dark makeup was done specially to accent her sharp, golden eyes, and being raised to be in this role meant that she was also the perfect prize for any rich man willing to pay an arm and a leg for the unique opportunity.

In addition, Pan-Mei was also given the name "Pepitallia" once she hit this point in her young maturity. A name that was meant to signify her brothel name, and was to be the only name that she was to be called from that day on by both the brothel workers and the customers alike. These names were meant to be captivating, to make the women more desirable, as their real names were now owned by the whore-house to do as they pleased with.

Naturally she believe she ready for this, having her innocence towards these vulgar acts taken away from her at a young age. She had first hand got to witness what no child should have to, as the owners saw her maturing in the brothel as an opportunity to meld her into the perfect money-maker. She believed she was ready, but what she didn't realize that there was still a sliver of innocence that still remained in her, hidden and unprepared for the things that were about to happen.

A wealthy noble from Fissa with an infamous reputation of flaunting around his riches and power happened to be the one who won the bidding on Pan-Mei. He was notorious for being arrogant and aggressive, but had more than enough money to spare for the once-in-a-lifetime chance to take something from the Pan-Mei that she could never get back. Well, after this had all happened, she had come to realize this was actually a nightmare, and got to experience just how abusive her client actually was.

Pan-Mei had raked in a fortune for the brothel, which in turn increased her own value. As time went on, she had soon become sort of the 'Brothel's Mascot', whom they believed to be the answer to their prayers to Bast for good fortune. She began to get more clients after that, increasing in a shadowed popularity which brought back many regulars. This included the same man from Fissa who was the first person to purchase her for the night, and continued to return continuous times after.

His abusive nature led Pan-Mei to undergo multiple injuries, which resulted in the owners sending her to Fan'gwei (a.k.a. "The Golden Capitol" ), the neighbouring village across the Orchid Bridge where the healers were located at their temples. It was highly frowned upon to send someone so 'defiled' to such a sanctuary, but due to her high value, they wanted to keep their prized possession to be in top condition. That was where she met Sangmu, the highest regarded Oracle of their land, valued even higher than the people itself. She began her relatively frequent visits to the noble healer beginning from the injuries of her first purchase to every other few days to a week at a time after that.

Sangmu, whom Pan-Mei felt privileged to befriend, happened to also be the only person who treated her with any sort of respect or kindness. She was also given a hand-crafted bracelet from the Oracle to ward off bad spirits and to bring her good luck. It was the only gift she had ever received, and that she continued to keep to this day.

                  After Her Power Awakens

As years went on, Pan-Mei began to return to Sangmu with out of the ordinary blemishes. She had undergone many fevers, most of them making her body so hot that they reached unbelievable levels which no person should be able to survive with. Those soon passed, but other things like burns would appear from time to time. There was even one incident where she accidentally scorched one of her expensive robes into ashes, and she couldn't even speak her troubles to Sangmu without her tears evaporating off her face as she cried.

As she reached the age of 17, things really began to change. A combination of stress, hormonal changes, emotional distraught, physical abuse, isolation, and now the new maturation of her mana pool caused something in Pan-Mei to snap. In addition to this, she had come to realize beforehand just how much power she actually had over men, how she could pursued a person with just the right words, tone of voice, stare of the eyes and body language. Even better yet, a little bit of physical interaction with a touch of the hand guaranteed the person to work in her favour.

Soon a newly found pride grew within her and she began to actually believe that she was a blessing bestowed upon the worshipers of the brothel by Bast herself. This realization became apparent to Pan-Mei when she watched how the candles and the lanterns always reacted to her feelings, how they seemed to listen and understand her when she was alone with them, and how they grew brighter and more powerful when she herself felt rage or wanted to watch them ignite. Her love for this new element soon went out of control and Pan-Mei considered this to be a gift given to her by Bast herself, and she even began to see herself to be above and more important than the people around her.

Pan-Mei soon became greedy, keeping a lot of the profit she made for herself, and in turn, manipulated clients into believing that they now owed her favours. Naturally the owners were not pleased with this, but she was not fazed by them as they were now beneath her. With a threatening display of blazing fury, she now had her old possessors under her finger and now, they worked for her. The brothel now belonged to Pan-Mei, though she still did her job and allowed the owners to do the keep work, she ultimately made all the decisions.. and kept most of the profit. Justice was soon served when the returning man from Fissa who took her virginity 5 years ago, ironically enough, took it again as her first murder victim. She charred his corpse into ash and created an altar from his bones, which was left as a reminder to her 'owners' that things were going to be different.

Things continued to spiral downhill from there, but Pan-Mei remained loyal to Sangmu, the only fore bearer of her good memories. She soon acquired a new nickname by the villagers who called her "Pepper" for a variety of reasons. It was one name which she kept over the others she had been given as she liked it more, an she claimed at as her new identity. Soon both villages of Fan'gwei and Azai were under the siege of bandits and raiders who ultimately destroyed both the land and most of it's people. Few made it out alive, and only the most important were sent away for rescue, which mainly included the Oracle who made it out safely.

Despite the respect and loyalty that Pepper believed she had gained, there was still no one out there who would bother rescuing her during the attack. In the end she was still nothing but a prostitute, a discarded whore who was below the average standard of society. This left her feeling hurt and forgotten yet again. She was left behind to die, left to fend of the leftover bandits on her own while everyone was murdered around her. After Sangmu had made it safely out of the village, Pepper unleashed an explosive hellish flame, incinerating the last of the raiders who remained. Once there was no more remaining bodies, she made one final mark. Both villages, the Golden Capitol and the Smoke District were united and burned with it's corpses in a mass cremation. A final act from the "God Child" of Bast who sent the spirits of both villages and it's people into the arms of the Goddess of FIre and Death.

The 5 years following that tragic day consisted of Pepper wandering the land. She had no path, she was free. Eventually she crossed paths with the rebels where she was finally reunited with Sangmu once again, and where she could see herself having more purpose once more. Even though she was motivated by more selfish reasons, she still proved herself to be a valuable asset to the revolution and thus, made it her new home.

▬▬▬▬▬ TRUEexperience of the WORLD

              ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

              °°°MISC.

                  A breakdown of her name:
Pan-Mei: Her real first name by birth, only known by few
                  Peng: Surname
Pepitallia: Brothel name (whore name, /snrk)
                  Pepper: Overall nickname

                  Important Places of Her Past
Azai "The Smoke District": The village from which Pepper was born. It is labelled the "Smoke District" because of the industrial work that goes on there. Smoke an steam are always seen rising up from the various workshops, and many goods are made there to be sold to Fan'gwei where they will be further traded and sold to other people. It is also called the Smoke District because of it's worn out look, everything looks dusty and unrefined, making it the lesser of the two villages as all the manual labour is done by the poorer citizens. A lot of shady activity also goes on here as well, which includes the business of the brothel.

Fan'gwei "The Golden Capitol": This is the village of prosperity, and the village where Sangmu resides. It is filled with temples, eye-catching architecture and beautiful walkways that shimmer because of the stone used to make it. Trading and Merchants are big here, often selling many goods from fresh food, hand-crafted goods, animals, and the finest treasures. The Oracle was the symbol of hope here, who was a noble born into a future of spirituality that she passed onto the people of Fan'gwei. Visitors would often come here as well if they had the coin or the faith, but there usually weren't many seeing as how both villages were hidden by shrouding tree-tops and vegetation.

The Orchid Bridge: The breathtaking bridge that connects the two villages. It is an important landmark, a symbol of peace, and allows people from both villages to visit each other with ease, but most often for trade. The bridge itself is magnificently large, spanning over the large river that separates the two villages. It is very old, as old as the villages themselves, though it remained strong and true. Even the bandits who destroyed both Azai and Fan'gwei could not topple the structure, leaving it as a reminder of their once glorious homeland.

The Tsen'tai River: It is simply the name given to the river which separates both villages. It's not a powerful current, which makes it the perfect place for fisherman to catch fish. It also gives the area a tranquil atmosphere in combination with the trees which overshadow the area.

                  Relationships

                  - Sangmu Amrita Ngapoi (The Oracle):
Sangmu was the Oracle from Pepper's past, the healer who attended to her wounds and illnesses when she was sent to Fan'gwei for aid. Sangmu also happens to be the only person who ever treated Pepper with kindness and caring, who actually took time to talk to her, to listen to her, and to give her some sort of hope, spiritual guidance, and comfort. Pepper never forgot this, even upon reuniting with her after 5 years of separation. Sangmu is the only person she regards to as true nobility, and whom she would give her utmost respect and honour. The two of them remain connected to one another as the last fragments of their old homeland, each a reminder and source of comfort for the other. Even though there were few others who did survive that tragic day, their small, isolated culture remains endangered and dying.

To this day, The Oracle remains as one of the few who can "tame the wild beast" that is Pan-Mei, who can keep her grounded, and who can keep her obedient, as Pepper will listen to anything Sangmu will tell her to do. She will also protect Sangmu at all costs.

                  - Gallin Lional (Dead Man Walking):
This is an interesting case as Gallin is the polar opposite of Pan-mei; the "Anti-Pepper" in almost every way. Water to fire, calm to unstable, silver to black, male to female, discreet to distinctive, cold to hot, tranquil to chaotic. These are just a few obvious examples of their differences, which funny enough, happen to be the catalyst for their unique friendship.

Even though Gallin is a gentleman and kind man at heart, Pepper has always feared him upon discovering he has a natural affinity with water. She would do everything to avoid him, especially since he enjoyed to tease her with his harmless displays. Eventually this lead to the unintentional fact that Gallin could keep her under control this way, possibly the only outsider that could do so. Always slightly cautious of him, Pepper would wind up listening to him and doing as he asked (most of the time), as she was somehow afraid that his water could "kill her".

Another unintentional aspect is the kindness and caring he's shows towards her. Pepper is only used to getting this from Sangmu, so the fact that Gallin, as an "outsider", continues to treat her with this form of positive attention, she doesn't know how to deal with it and it does wondrous ******** to Pepper's deranged psyche. She just cannot comprehend this or understand why, or even how to properly respond to it, which often leaves her silent and unresponsive most of the time.
This also means that he is the only one whom she is submissive to and one of the only other people whom she will obey. Like water does to fire, he keeps her tame and under control.

Overtime she had begun to rely on his unintentional "Master"-like presence (ironically enough since he used to be a servant), and had grown fond of his company. They share a kitten-like friendship, and Pepper would not be pleased if any harm was done to him (even if she doesn't realize it).

                  - Arista Ni'vaïr (The Leader's Right Hand):
Arista and Pepper share a mutual, yet somewhat humorous friendship. The two of them get along well, though their real connection comes together by a somewhat-common interest. Where Arista slays a man to harvest her favourite organ-prize for her palate, Pepper will handle the rest of the corpse, burning away the flesh to get to her own prize… the bones within.

This also serves as a great form of cooperation and clean-up of those messy, smelly corpses. Also it destroys evidence if it needs to be destroyed, but that's usually not important in this case.

                  Other Tidbits

Pepper will lose it if you take her hair down, or if ask her to do it. It brings back horrid memories of her youth of those times she broke that strict rule of the brothel. The hair, the way it's put up, and the ornaments within it is pretty much her identity. It's a symbol of her wealth, her value, and signifies her status and her profession. But mostly it's due to what has been engraved into her psyche. Like some sort of backwards-security blanket, it's probably one of the most prominent things that remains in her mind since youth and still strikes panic into her to this day. In fact, she acts VERY differently when her hair is down, but I wouldn't go on trying to check this out unless you had a death wish. However, she does takes her hair down if she is sleeping alone or if she is bathing, but that is about it.

              Where we confine ourselves
              If I cover your eyes
              With a silk satin ribbon
You'll receive a kiss from a scarlet peony bud

              Listen, listen with those ears
              To my voice
This is the weeping of a songstress
Who is begging for the day she will finally die

This place is on the other side of our nightmares
Where the repulsive fingertips of love's corpses...
Ah, you should realize by now!

              Your sighs
Are matching this rosewood bed nicely
So let's convey the very sweet smoke
              By word-of-mouth
              Onto your bare, amber skin
I want to carve a tattoo
              That sparkles like a mother-of-pearl

              Look, look with those eyes
              At my figure
Dancing while clad in dim light
Is a secret technique of a prostitute

The nights of Beijing that wear the stench of foot-binding
              Are deceiving eternity
By not speaking of the immortality of our love...

Laugh, you should laugh at my foolish self
For being able to love the you that lead me to destruction
Every night, the inside of my womb is filled with flames
What is it that women must burn in order to give birth to love?

              Look, look with those eyes
              At my heart
This is the insanity of a wicked bird
              Who's flapping her bloodstained wings

This place is at the furthest ends of our dreams
On a hill of love in the underworld, where we embraced so gently...
              Ah, you should remember now!

The most common animal she turns into is a horse, but she has transformed into others like a lion or a flock of butterflies. However, transforming into ordinary animals is not her true area of expertise. All of the animal transformations were just basics for her to help understand and maneuver what she infamously skilled in: mystical creatures. The number and variation of transformation quickly put the young woman in the adept level. Most alters only concentrate only a few transformations (three to four), but Oriana has more than the recommended. Even the Guildmaster has warned Oriana to not over due the amount of transformations and as the over use of her own mana can damage her to the point that she may have to take myrr in cases of emergencies. Here is a list of her creatures she most commonly uses:

Unicorn: Those that know Oriana well know this is her favorite transformation and strangely the most troublesome. For any alter caster, this transformation isn't too difficult when it comes to the aesthetics. However, Unicorns have a unique aura about them and it is difficult to duplicate when they are rarely seen. Oriana was so absorbed about this transformation that she worked constantly to perfect it. All her hard work was well earned as she manged to transform into a unicorn, pushing out her mana in away that some truely believed she was indeed a unicorn. She even was able to capture that asteral form of the unicorn to every detail. Of course, her transformation was too perfect. There have been a number of accounts where people have even tried to hunt her down. There was one famous incident where a mage, a knight and hunter chased her all the way to the guild. So in order to identify herself, she sometimes let a mane of the horse have a rainbow strip in her mane or have pink mane. Another thing to know is to not take the horn lightly. With enough effort, the horn can easily impale a man and strike through or dent armor.

Pegasus: This was not an easy transformation at first for Oriana. However, she jumped out the window (who knows how many times) until she was able to master the form. While she got bruises and dislocated her arm, she was never so proud when she got this form right. While this form is not affectively an offense form (unless she kicks you), it does aid a warrior who may need help or warrior can rider her and attack by air. This form can also carry more weight even in the air in case the warrior has heavier armor.

Mermaid: One of Oriana aquatic transformations that isn't too complicated, but she then realized she had to learn to swim in that transformation. After almost "drowning" in three feet of water, she finally got used to her tail. Of course, her panic splashes and screaming attracted a few people to her. Later, she was able to successfully swim in water without problem. In this form, she is swift swimmer even in tight places. This form is useful in an emergency or when it deemed useful for the situation.

Griffin: One of her first successful transformations and she managed to stir a whole market when they saw her flying around. The guards had to chase her down with a few casters. Luckily for them, Oriana caught sight of the knights and landed only to gave an awkward hug to one of the knights. This transformation is the fastest and most agile of all transformation that can take on some reasonable amount of weight. As a Griffon, Oriana can actually do damage with her beak and claws. She quite massive as a griffon as well so it is best not underestimate her strength.

Minotaur: This transformation was actually a sort of prank. She wanted to alter her face into a Minotaur to scare some knights for fun, but she ended up over doing it. It was actually the most painful transformation she had ever endured and she simply could not stop the full transformation. She let out horrible screams that turned into roar. There was utter panic in the guild and Minotaur Oriana was tuck in the corner of the room she trashed. She was stuck in that transformation for a full week and was able to transform back through the guide by the Guildmaster and alter professors. It was horrible experience, but through it she was able to get handle through the transformation. This is probably her most dangerous transformation, but she only uses if she feels she has no choice.

Drake: Oriana wanted to do a dragon transformation, but that was near impossible. She ended up finding about a book on drakes and was fascinated with them. She especially favored the drakes that were more aquatic. She decided to to see if she could transform into one which ended up being a long project to the point she fell ill. However, after she got better she seemed figured out the transformation. She ended up scaring a caster who was bringing her soup, but she had fun in the tub in her new transformation. This form is extremely fast swimmer with a strong jaw. It scales are tough as steel, but its under belly is more blubbery.

Kirin: Despite her scoldings from the guildmaster there is one more form that Oriana wishes to master. It is uncomplete project and she yet to master this mystical creature's form. It combines the claws of the griffin, scales of the drake, mane/grace of the unicorn and 1/2 of the minotaur's strength along with its strong horns. It an extremely complicated form and consider incomplete. Oriana would not be using this form any time soon.

                  Jovial

If there is anything anyone will notice about Oriana it will be her overly bubbly and enthusiastic spirit. Oriana is always ready to smile at anyone no matter who they are. Oriana always tends to see things in a good light. She seems to have this undying optimism about life and people in general. Anger and sadness do not seem to exist for Oriana as she is rarely seen in such moods. It takes a lot to bring the woman down and to this day if she ever seen crying, she never cries tears. She continues to keep her promise to her beloved family and only sheds pink rose petals. In all, Oriana's good look on life is often seen as foolish and naive. While this is probably not far from the truth, Oriana continues to have deep faith in the good nature of things.

                  Spontaneous

No one could predict the unpredictable nature of a little caster who had pink hair. Often enough, many believe the girl to have too much sugar or was born was an insane amount of energy. She never seem to satisfied with doing one thing. She was always wanted to move on to new things and keep going. The girl would be quickly distracted by anything that caught her interest even if she was suppose to pay attention to something else. She also had a talent in completely catching people off guard without even trying. Her impulsive nature contends to this. She often will jump into things without thinking things through with reasonable logic or any logic at all. This often gets her into large amount of trouble.

                  Whimsical

It was a wonder for everyone in the guild that they did not expect the worst out of a girl with pink hair. Maybe it was the innocent look in her eyes or the sweet smile she always gave. The girl soon showed to be an interesting one. As a young girl, the love for girly things, sweets and unicorns seemed natural if the little girl. As she grew older, her fascination with fantasy only grew to the extreme and probably one of the reasons why her vision of the world is clouded with happiness, rainbows and flowers. This continued to be a problem through her life and even now. She always manages to come up with strange ideas about things and people. She often takes ideas and people as they are presented to her without thinking to question them. While she may have grand skill in alteration magic, she is still a child to many and has a lot to learn about the world she lives in.

              ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

              °°°HISTORY
Born the daughter of a baker in Vitascuren, Oriana Berly had a good start to her life. She was the second child and first daughter of her family. Oriana had an older brother who was only two years older than her. Her parents had been happy to gain another healthy child. Oriana’s mother had always longed for a daughter and her wish had come true when Oriana was born. In addition, their business was doing well and they had good reputation for their hard work. So there was no worry about having another mouth to feed. However, Oriana would prove to become a challenge even in the first years of her life. It all started with when the baby girl started to grown pink peach fuzz on her head.

People are not comfortable with strange things. If they do appear to be comfortable with something strange, they only seem to look upon it for entertainment. Oriana became that strange little entertainment and center of fascination. The girl was growing pink hair for goodness sake! At first, Oriana’s mother thought nothing of it. She has heard of baby’s eye color changing at the birth and maybe the girl’s hair would darken. The girl’s hair did look peach at first and maybe she’ll more a blonde shade like her mother. Time had passed and the girl’s pink shade of hair just grew more vibrant. Rumors spread around about the baker’s wife possible cheating or that she was an apostate. The fact was the baker and his wife was faithful and had no connection to magic that they knew of. Their son even had a healthy brown shade of hair. The baker consoled his wife and pointed out that his daughter’s hair was that of same shade of color as a pink rose. Oriana’s wife took the sweet comment and accepted her daughter's odd hair color. She decided to push away the rumors of her daughter and grew her daughter’s hair out to show her pride in her young daughter.

Soon a little girl with long pink hair would be seen running around in the baker shop. She was often seen playing with her brother as other children would often avoid her since their parents did not advice it. When she reached the age of four, she was often picked on only to be defended by her brother. Through time, she grew attached to her brother and looked up to him. She even encouraged the boy’s dream to be a grand knight of Vitascuren or even part of the royal guard. Despite the closeness with her brother, Oriana was still bullied. She dealt with the words and hair pulling. She did love to play with her brother, but she wanted friends of her own. It did not go unnoticed by her that her brother had his own friends and he ran off to play with them. She did not stop him and was determined to gain her own friends.

One day, Oriana, at the age of five, was extremely determined to get friends. She let some girls do another hair pulling and asked them to her friends. They agreed to her great pleasure and only asked for the impossible. Since she had pink hair, they thought she should get purple skin too. Only then, she would she be their friends. The girl so happily and foolishly agreed. She decided she would not fail. There she stood there in the market street, wondering how to get purple skin. She did not have enough paint or money. Plus, her mother would be mad if she asked for hlep. Then she remembered one time her brother held his breath that he almost looked like he was turning blue! She gasped in delight and decided to do the same thing as well. Of course, a thing like that would not work, but the girl whole hearted believed it. She held her breath with her hands tightly clenched to her chest, wished and waited. Five seconds passed as she wished the hardest she could and surely her skin began to change to a shade of red. People around the market stopped and began to stare. The girl turned red, then red with blue dots, and then the colors swirled. Finally, the girl turned a shade of purple. A crowd began to form as the girl gained purple skin. Then something extreme happened. The girl began to expand like a ball. Slowly, her body inflated and began to rise. Screams filled the air and before anyone alerted the guards, Oriana’s father called out to her and she deflated. The girl fell and her father caught her, seeing the purple shade of skin still on. He quickly brought her inside the baker’s shop. The girl giggled happily as she gained purple skin, thinking she gain new friends. She would soon learn she gained something else.

The Berly couple knew now they could not keep their daughter. Too many people had seen their girl work her magic. Soon the archduke would hear word and they rather not cause problems with the head of the noble family of Vitascuren. They spoke to some knights about the incident, promising to send word to the Caster Guild. They did just that and were sent word to pack their daughter’s things in a week’s time. During that week, Oriana knew nothing of what happened and her skin turned back to normal. She was not allowed to leave the house. She began to worry as her brother even began to avoid her as well. Then the day before she would leave, her brother snuck her out of the house to her delight. She took her somewhere and told her stories. The most fascinating story was when he took her to special spot where he said a saw a unicorn. He then gave her a little wooden figurine of a unicorn. That day, she laughed, giggled and put on the biggest smiles.

The next day, little Oriana discovered the truth. She just stared at her parents in awe. She said nothing. It was quiet when the knights came to take her to the Caster Guild. Her parents gave her tight hugs and loving kisses. Her brother ruffled her hair and smiled. She shyly began to follow the knights and did not look back even when she was more than a couple of feet away from the house. Suddenly, her brother was running towards the knights. Oriana perked up when saw her parents running after him. He was holding something out to her. Oriana ran towards her brother and the knights quickly reacted, thinking she was trying to escape. The girl reached her brother and he handed her something. She smiled as she realized she forgot the unicorn figure. Suddenly, she was picked up by one of the knights and the girl finally began to cry. She tried to wiggle free from the knight's grasp. Her family in tears began to wished her well and told her not cry until she was out of their sights. They say the girl left a trail of pink rose petals instead of tears.

When she arrived at the caster guild, the girl created mass mayhem. That was far from the truth really. All she managed to do was grab the nearest sharpest thing and cut off her rosy locks. Once that was done, the little girl managed to stop others from having a near heart attack before being scolded (being hit over the head by the Guildmaster) not to grab sharp objects. Then the Guildmaster had assigned her a room and class. She was the youngest of her class that were being taught how to count, read, and write (as some youths were not taught that much in their own homes). While her first years were not so hard, Oriana was often solitary because of her age. Wanting attention, Oriana became the youngest and most notorious student in the Caster guild after two months in the guild. Honestly, she often got in trouble without realizing it and was often too curious for her own good. Her reputation has a troublemaker would not end at a young age, but continue on. Oriana began to have hard time learning, ran into some trouble because of some mistakes, released things that should have been released, and had the oddest luck like when she was assigned to an elemental class for a whole year. Luckily, she was switch into an alteration class. Despite all the trouble she had been through, Oriana never seemed unhappy. If anything all her misadventures earned her friendships and she began to see the Caster Guild as her home that accepted her.

Once in an alteration class, Oriana began to slowly develop on her own as a person and a skilled caster. By the age of fifteen, she finally decided to grow out her pink hair that had always been kept short. Showing a new sense of confidence, the infamous caster began exceed among her peers all the while running into trouble every now and then. The Guildmaster (dreading) sent Oriana on tasks with knights where she would continue her infamous reputation in some form. Doing well (other than causing a few headaches for some), Oriana was even part of the group who was sent off to the Shaysaren to help rebuild and help the guards. Now an adept caster, Oriana has an apprentice and has been chosen to accompany to join the Guildmaster to Shaysaren once again to meet with the king.

She believes for who knows how long that if she kisses a man on the lips that she will get pregnant. Within the guild, most people believe this is due to the Guildmaster for obvious reasons...

▬▬▬▬▬ POWER to conquer FATE

              ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

              °°°ARMOR
In the very beginning when he assigned as just a guard for Varrimark, Alaric's armor was specifically made for him in order to help protect his very sensitive skin so that he may do missions during the day without fear. This alteration magitek armor was made to fit his body and cover it well. The cloth parts of his overall armor was able to expand, cover his skin and even make a hood to shield him from the sun's ray. It was a simple purpose for the armor, making it a less hassle for Alaric to cover up. It required little myrr to move and shifted. It was later that the armor was upgraded. Now the cloth part of the armor can shift into a scale chain mail and only on his right arm it can shift into a dark blade that extends out from top of his hand.Of course, this leaves his skin exposed so he uses at night or when in dire situations when the sun is out.

              °°°WEAPONS
Alaric obtained this sword due to his service to Varrimark and after showing skill in handling basic magitek. This two-handed elemental magitek weapon made with two elements that merge into one: water and air to make ice. When activated, the blade lets out a blue glow and both elements merge. The blade can do a number of things. It can cover itself with ice. It covers the ground in ice in a six foot radius and that ice can be manipulated to rise up. If the blade touches an opponent, the ice can cover the enemy and leave them vulnerable to Alaric's attacks. It there is a body of water that Alaric can access or the weather is in his favor, that can help increase his radius.

              °°°ABILITIES
                  Strength
He has learned as a little boy is that knights are meant to be strong. So as you well imagine, the boy insisted that he wanted to be strong and thus the mercenary, who trained him in his youth, began to push the boy to build up muscle. When Alaric was actually handed a sword, he started to use a heavy two handed sword. Throughout time, he began to perfect his skill with the weapon. The man has a firm grip and a steady strike. He has developed over time how use the sword as a means of defense and offensive.

                  Endurance
Being on his own as a teenager and from gaining tips from those that were willing to share, Alaric knows how to fend for himself. Alaric has always walked for miles to reach his desination. As a young body, he had to learn when to conserve and when to spend energy. Being wasteful of energy could mean death, especially when he was not familiar to the area. He has often push himself over different parts of Avilion before he started to serve Varrimark. His training also did not stop at Varrimark either. It was increased and the man has learned to deal with the toughest.

                  Speed
Alaric actually does not use very heavy armor. He likes to put his full strength into his attacks and have enough speed to react to an opponent's movements. This probably came from all the advice from thieves a child and the times where he was dared to actually steal things. When he was on his own, he learned the value of speed when he wanted to get away from angry dealers and their guards. While Alaric is not considered the shealthiest, he is quick on his feet and has good reflexes. This especially comes hand when he leaves his sword behind and uses he uses the blade fromed by his magitek armor.

                  Aberrant

At a very age, he always knew he was not like the others. It just took one look at the mirror and look at the other priests to see that he was not normal. His own adopted father would always say he was different in his own kind way. It was not even the looks, but the way he would look at things. As a young boy, he was always observant and always point out things that others never noticed. The priests always used to praise him for such things, telling him he was quite clever. The friends he obtained outside the temple used to say he was odd child and just laugh at the little things he said.

                  Obedient

This is partically due to his personality and his discipline in the temple. Alaric is not actually the outgoing type and inwardly is a people pleaser. People tend to not notice this at all since his appearance tends to put off people. Due to his strict duties and need for a bit of attention as a young child in the temple, the boy learned that doing as one was told often got the attention he wanted. Of course, this did not always work out, but the boy would never throw a trantrum for attention. He did love to please people and people were not happy with bad behavior. Over time, the boy would not grow out of this habit of always doing what he is told even as he gained friends outside the temple. Even now, he follows and respects his superiors only managing to break a few rules here and there.

                  Methodical

Being an orderly person came naturally with his OCD and also being raised in the temple. There is an order and blance to everything. It so happened that Alaric had no problem with this systematic life style. It brought him a sense of calm to his nerves. Alaric did like to medicate with the priests, giving him a feeling of belonging within the temple. There were times when Alaric was overly tidy and oftened seemed like a perfectionist, but that was him wanting order. This side of him only goes out of hand when he is very nervous or has not taken his myrr on time.

The fate of Alaric was not an unusual one with his aliment that could be seen as demonic. Alaric’s albinism would be a shock to any poor family. The loss pigment in the skin, hair, and those red eyes would not be taken lightly. While there may have been many reasons why Alaric was left on the steps of the temple of Amaé in Andrasidan, Alaric was just another unwanted child and their parent only had enough mercy to leave him on the steps of temple in hope the baby would be taken in. Fortunately or by the grace of Amaé (as some would say), the one priest that took the crying bundled up child from the steps early that morning. The baby looked no older than a year with sunburns on his body. The condition of the baby horrified the priest, but he was also surprised by the child’s pigment of skin and eyes. The priest took the child in and blessed the child, surprised the child instantly calmed down after the blessing. The priest took this as a sign from the goddess herself and decided that he would be raised in the temple as a servant of Amaé. It was then Alaric was named by the priest, giving the child his last name.

Raising Alaric was not an easy feat due to his condition. The priest, Robert Koenraad, learned that Alaric was quite sensitive to the light early on and tried to keep him inside during the day. There was also the hassle of cleaning the sunburns and the boy’s red eyes could not handle the sunlight. So during his early childhood, Alaric was kept inside the temple in regards to his health. In a way, this benefited Alaric on another level. He was disciplined well by the priests who began to educate the boy much better than most children in the city of Andrasidan. They realized the boy caught on things well, especially with numbers, organization, and patterns. The boy was proper and very tidy. He had no problem in helping with daily tasks that involve cleaning or organization of any kind. Little did the priest know that Alaric was showing signs of a mental disorder (Obsessive-compulsive disorder or OCD) and they would see the disorder in a different light.

As a boy, Alaric did not have many friends. He could not go into the sun light and play with the other children. Even if he could play with the other children, he was still shunned by many due to his looks. So often enough, he would try to find ways to entertain himself by playing games on his own, reading and even organizing things. He always had this strange need to organize things and this habit of staring at the decorate patterns on the walls of the temple. He always had this need to organize he patterns in his head. His behavior was seen as odd and the priests did not pay mind to it too much, figuring the boy was doing prayer or going through some sort of meditation. But every now and then, they would let the boy enjoy the outside when the sun was down and it was safe for him to play. There was times where Alaric would get so bored that he sometimes develops plans to escape the temple. Some nights, he even sneak out of bed and see how far he would go without being caught. It came to the point where he could escape off into the night, but was too afraid. It came to the point where the boy could not handle the boredom, bringing out his anxiety to the brink. He couldn’t stand anything being unorganized and the walls of the temple began to bother him more and more. It came to the point he went on a full tantrum, shocking the priests with his sudden behavior. They did not understand why the boy was making such fuss and they tried to calm him down. Alaric, in tears, would fuzz about images and patterns. He refused to go inside the temple, running out into the day light. The priests grabbed him and set him up in a dark cellar for him to calm down, giving him one candle. When the priests came down, Alaric was asleep on the floor. On the dirt floor the boy drawn out and organized some of the patterns on temples walls in such a way that the priest, in awe, saw it as a sign from Amaé. They saw the boy as some sort of prophet and decided then he was ready for his apprenticeship on his next birthday.

At age ten, Alaric started his apprenticeship and was claimed to be a prophet of Amaé. He studied scrolls and was taught to do priestly duties that gave him more freedom and less anxiety. He actually got to meet new people from the town and even pilgrims that came to gain his knowledge of the goddess. It was interesting to meet these people at first. He did as the priests told and organized the patterns on the way the way he saw fit. The priests would interpret them and the people that came would leave happy. However, Alaric was soon finding the apprenticesip over bearing and people that came to see him never really were there for his company. Then one night, Alaric felt the need to try to escape the temple. At first, he did not plan to really escape, but something in him pushed him forward into the night of the town. It was not the best idea, but Alaric felt, for the first time, freedom. He liked the town at night and everything was peaceful, but that peace did not last. Suddenly, the boy’s wrist was grasped. A drunken man had caught the hooded boy, lifting his arm to see his pale skin. The man was mad and spoke of the boy as an evil spirit that was haunting him. Scared, the boy only watched with horror as the man aimed to strike the boy. The boy shut his eyes and felt his wrist being released and pushed to the ground. With his hood fallen, the boy looked up to his savior, a knight. The knight managed to knock out the drunken man and looked at boy with a puzzled look. The knight helped the boy up, telling he should head home. Probably thinking the boy was poor, the knight tossed him a coin which he caught. He watched the man leave with admiration in his eyes and kept the coin.

For four years, Alaric would continue his apprentice's duties and at the side he would dream of being a knight, keeping the coin as an item of luck. He would continue to sneak out in the night in town and make odd friendships. He found himself having much in common with the people who stalk the streets at night. He spoke with the homeless, any drunken man (that did not threaten to hurt him), men who stayed hidden in the shadows, and even spoke with the women who called out to the older men. Alaric never judged them and learned from them. They would give him tips he never really asked for in the first place. He made two close friends. One was a drunken mercenary sword who under his drunken guidance would teach Alaric to properly swing his sword and gave him tips to condition his body. Alaric would follow his every order to the point and even impressed the mercenary at the boy’s determination. Another was a prostitute who recognized the boy for who he was and was a sort of counselor to him in a devil’s advocate way. The woman would listen to the boy’s thoughts on his own self-appointed title on being some prophet. She was smiled and spoke wise words, comforting him. Sometimes on his worst days, the woman would give a little alcohol to calm his nerves. Throughout these years, the boy would feel like he had two lives, but he knew one day he would have to choose.

The boy was reaching his fifteen birthdays and the conflictions of his life were weight on his shoulders. A part of him wanted him to stay in the temple with the man who raised him and another wanted to run away from the dreaded walls of the temple. His indecision made him leave the temple every night and it casted a suspicious shadow over him. He was taking more food from the temple than usual and sometimes even wine. Robert Koenraad knew his adopted son had gotten himself into something. One night, the priest followed Alaric and was shocked that Alaric had met with a prostitute. The following night would be a tragic one for Alaric. As Alaric left the temple and after spending some time training with his mercenary friend, he went off to say see if he could speak the prostitute friend who was not feeling well the day before. When he went to go meet her, he noticed an odd thing. There was a crowd in the street and screams. He pushed through the crowd and watched his female friend being dragged to the street like an animal. He saw his own adopted father accused the woman of crimes the young Alaric did not believe. Before he could move to stop them, they killed her in front of him. He never went back to the temple and left the city of Andrasidan the night after, vowing he would become a knight.

The next eight years, Alaric would learn from others that were willing to teach him or he would learn from his own experiences. He would travel place to place in Avilion, taking jobs when he needed the coin. It was a struggle at first, but some of his unlikely friends back in Andrasidan brought him to interesting people and interesting jobs. During his travels, he would try to find remedies for his lack of pigmentation. The most effect was face paint. He also tried cures for his mental ailment, but nothing seemed to work so far. He also found that training and fighting help him relieve his anxiety. As he grow more experienced and well-rounded, the young man started to take on mercenary jobs. As he grew more trusted by other mercs and more skilled, the young man was introduced to myrr. The young man thought nothing of it at first, but he found that taking a bit of it had stopped the images in his head and his need to organize. As time passed, he slowly grew addicted to myrr.

To this day, he does not understand what truly drew him near Varrimark. He was not truly fond of the place, but it was the first place where his dream could be accomplished. At the time, Varrimark was recruiting knights and the young man join the line of men, willing to serve. Alaric grew to be one of the top recruits and later was appointed as a guard. Continuing to grow in skill and do well on missions, he was later honor with the title of knight of Varrimark. He grew among his ranks and continued to serve well even after the first rebellion. He earned magitek armor that was at first to simply help him with his albinism and as well a magitek sword. He adapted to the weapons better than most and later that he was able to upgrade his armor in a way that he could use it as a short ranged weapon.

However, despite his reputation as a skilled knight, Alaric appearance continues to give people strange vibes with his looks and habits. He still manages to make friendships with people that are consider the bane of society, in secret of course.

▬▬▬▬▬ POWER to conquer FATE

              ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

              °°°ARMOR
Shreya wears no armor. She feels that it is something that will slow her down. There are pieces of bone from past prey on her clothing, but those are more decorative pieces as much as they are sort of throphies. She mostly wears leather from animals and puts on clothing from the fur of animals if the weather calls for it. Her clothing are simple pieces for the obvious reason of being able to blend into the environment while hunting pray. Shreya is also known to putting war paint on her body.

              °°°WEAPONS
Sword: Crafted by the metal from the mountain, this one handed weapon is Shreya's main weapon. While it forces her to move up close to enemy, the blade is heavy enough to do a considerable amount of damage to armor even if she swings it like a club. While the sword is not the finest, it is incredibly sturdy.

Shield: On one hand she may carry a sword, but on the other she carries a sheild. It heavier than it looks and is also made from metal from the mountains. It covered in different leathers that was made by her brother. The different leathers are simple a sign of good forture when she goes to hunt her prey.

One Set of Tomahawks: Shreya also carries two tomahawks that were forged by her brother and given to her when she left with the rebels. Shreya can use them as long ranged weapons when she throws them and short range if she wants to go into the battle with two weapons in hand.

              °°°ABILITIES

                  Endurance

Pushing through a number of warrior trials, hunts and going up the mountains has given the woman high endurance. Her endurance is probably her most prominent feature in battle, especially when she goes on full berserk. Nothing seems to stop the woman when her adrenaline is high and there is a worthy foe. In battle, there are times when woman seem to feel no pain due to the rush of battle. It is only when the enemy is dead does the woman actually calm down and rest. In battle, she shows no fear or resistance. She will beat her enemy down even if it takes the every ounce of her strength to do so.

                  Agility

With extreme training of running up the mountains, down them and through the forest when hunting with the help of her strong legs, Shreya's speed another factor to her skill in battle. She is able to chase down an enemy with ease and she even finds that entertaining. Her training with other warriors also taught her well in being about to counter attack and dodge. Only in battle is where Shreya can be considered brutally graceful. She is also no problem being acrobatic, especially when given the chance in striking an enemy from above.

                  Strength

It is obvious that just by just looking at the woman to see that she is strong. She stands five feet and ten inches with a well tone body with lean muscles. While she is not an overly buff woman, she could be considered stronger than most women, especially since most women around her tend to much shorter than her and not as fit. It also helps that men tend over underestimate her strength and end up hitting the floor because of it. She has no problem in knocking out anyone with a single punch unless they dodge it in time. While she may not always use her fists in battle, she will if she is left with no weapon to use.

▬▬▬▬▬ with OR without a SOUL

              ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

              °°°PERSONALITY

                  Fierce
A combination of her environment and her own fiery personality, Shreya is an intimidating woman. Shreya is a very upfront and outspoken woman. She may come off as rude and tough around the edges. However, she seens no problem with it at all as most women in her tribe as the same or even louder when speaking their opinions. Another thing is that the concept of fear is almost nonexistant to Shreya and if there is fear, she does not speak of it. She is not a woman who speaks her problems or is very emotional. Men, outside of her tribe, find her odd and often say she doesn't act like a woman. She doesn't understand what that means at all.

                  Austere
Because of her traditions and beliefs, she is very strict about a few things that people of Avilion take for granted. This especially is associated with magic and magitek. Shreya firmly refuses any magitek as she feels magic should only be used by Shamen (casters) and that power is not something that anyone should use as a type of weapon. In her eyes, magic is sacred and is connected to the earth. It is not something to be played with. Shreya is also stern and judgemental when it comes to the abilities of others. If she sees weakness in a person (especially when it comes to combat), she makes her job to push that person so that they're prepared. Over all, the woman always has this tense aura about her. The only time this losens up is when she actually curious about something, confused, drinking, in battle, when she is actually comfortable with the people around her or when she is "crying" aka singing.

                  Unwavering
When it comes to battle, she will not give up until she forced to pull back. When it comes to a person she trusts, she becomes incredibly loyal unless something uncontrolable gets in the way. When it comes to what she believes in, she will stick to it like a stubborn mule unless someone proves her completely wrong. In a way, her undying determination and loyalty can either help her or hurt her. It has done so many times through her life and even now.

              °°°LIKES

Climbing: She has climbed up trees, rocks, mountains since she was a child.
Nature: She is familiar with it and her life is based on it
Sparing/Excercise: She likes a good fair spar and move.
Crying: They say she likes singing, but she does not see her "crying" as singing.
Drinking: So far everything she has encounter that was made in Avillion is kinda weak though. The stuff her tribe makes is different story.
Grasshoppers: Every since she was young, she liked to catch them and she like to hear them "cry".

              °°°DISLIKES
Closed in spaces: She just finds it uncomfortable. She uses to being outside.
Perfume: She can't stand such a strong smell. Why do people like that?
Nobles: This should be hard to figure out, right?
Fancy clothing: She just doesn't get it.
Magitek: She doesn't care what other people do. She just won't use it. End of story.

              °°°HISTORY
                  Mountain Crier Pahāṛa ghōṣaka

Before Avilion was touched by any ruler, there were parts of the vast land that contained only a few tribes of people who were starting to break from their nomadic lives and begin to form small towns. These tribes of people were seen throughout the land, living in the forests, valleys and mountains. As when people begin to claim land, war began to sprout with it. Tribes would face each other for territory as towns were built, but as all wars they ended. Finally, communities would begin to trade with one another, pushing past tensions in order to survive. There were other creatures in the land that many of the natives had to face and it would be a waste to fight each other. Time moved swiftly and newcomers came into the land. The natives at first welcomed the newcomers for the value of trade. Soon the newcomers began to settle in the land and after a few months a war emerged. Two tribes had traded in some new weapons from the foreigners that were more advantaged than their own. Both tribes that held a long resentment towards each other clashed into battle. In a week, both tribes violently destroyed each other. When winter came, those that survived died. The newcomers felt a threat. Land was precious and one man decided to conquer it all. To the natives, they described him and his army as “Dark Wind”. They said he and his army glided over the lands, moving over the land like some furious tempest. The natives would see their homes taken away so easily when they did not accept any terms of these foreigners. The natives battled, but it was already too late. Before the natives could join together to fight to protect their land most of their forces were gone. The tribes last option was to joijn and flee together. Again and again, they would be push away farther from the land they knew.

Avilion was born and those that once lived when the land was unnamed seem to disappear. Years and upon years, the signs of natives or barbarians, as they were called, would be unseen and unheard of to the civilization that was growing within Avilion. Slowly, it almost felt these barbarians did not exist or ceased to exist. Every now and then stories from travelers would come up with stories of meeting one in the deep forest or near the mountains. Some merchants would swear they were raided by barbarians, but knights would venture out and find no one. The most famous tale of a barbarian tribe years after the war was written by a pilgrim. He heard of god-like voices in the mountains and ventured throughout Avilion to find these voices. In his book, he wrote of the Pahāṛa ghōṣaka or the Mountain Crier Tribe who lived beside and on the moutains. He wrote of their life and how they would climb high to sing, letting their voice echo throughout the mountain range. The book, however, was considered a remarkable piece of literary fiction that was truly about spiritual guidance than the truth of a barbarian tribe. It was a fortunate outcome for barbarian tribe of Pahāṛa ghōṣaka as they would continue to grow without disturbance.

South East of Fissa, within the forest at the foot of the mountains near the border of Drauj, resides the village of the Pahāṛa ghōṣaka (pahah goosha). It is here that mountain criers can still be heard and where they have detached themselves from the rest of Avilion. This is where Shreya Tesarik grew up, overlooking the lands that were said to be once untouched by foreigners and where her decedents roamed. Belonging to a bloodline of fierce tribal blood that held warriors both male or females, Shreya would follow those same footsteps. This was especially in honor a past female warrior descendant who was one of the first women to challenge the elders to gain the title of warrior. Shreya would see it that she had brought both honor and pride to her family and her tribe. To her, the land beyond her home was not unreachable, but simply unchallenged.

Growing up in the village, the young Shreya was well accredited for having great potential. She was a quick learner of arms, a strong wrestler, a fast runner, an agile hunter, and had a spirit that was said to akin to a bright flame. Regardless, Shreya had no potential when it came to the trades of her own parents who were craftsmen. It was not the fact that Shreya had no interest. She knew the value of being a skilled and talented craftsmen among the tribe, but apparently she had not talent for it. It was quite an embarrassment on her part. The other children seem to doing well under the guidance of their parents, but she was never doing quite so well. Her younger brother was much more talented and she even feared that her baby sister would even out do her. Despite this fear of her sibling’s achievements, Shreya was well known to cause trouble if one of the children of the village bothered her siblings. She was very adamant about protecting her brother and her sister, despite fearing they would grow to be much more skilled in craftsmanship. In the end, Shreya somewhat gave up on trying to learn the skills of her parents. Her mother had even encouraged to learn under her uncle who was a hunter and blacksmith.

The title of “Mountain Criers” became the tribe’s name through their affiliation towards the mountains that they took shelter in. At first, those that sang out, or as the tribe calls it “cries”, to the mountain were all signals of warnings of any enemy. As the years passed on, “crying” to the mountains became an essential part of the tribe. Different cries meant different things such as times of day, distress signals, warnings, or even cries of celebration. Soon the mountains became a foundation of spiritualism and test of strength. Events like birth of a child, marriages, and holiday events would not be celebrated without a mountain crier singing to the mountains. Those that became mountain criers were either shaman (casters for the tribe) or devoted warriors. However, most natives often take up a journey up the mountain to join the mountain criers if they wished to do a sort of self-reflexing pilgrimage. However, everyone in the tribe must take up a trail up the mountains once in the life time. This happens as a ritual of a child reaching adulthood. This is where Shreya would choose the path she would take as an adult.

Like all children who reach adulthood, they would journey up with a mountain crier as a guide. This event starts the week before spring and ends at the start of spring. Up on the mountain, the mountain crier would ask each child to do tasks to prove their adulthood. Once the mountain crier believes they are ready, they would send out a cry to the mountain to say they have become an adult. The mountain crier would also act as a personal adviser to the questions of these youths on their “journey” to adulthood. At the time, Shreya was having her own doubts about her future and had asked many questions to the mountain crier. In the end, the mountain crier told her that sometimes it was best to simply experience before asking many questions. In her time up on the mountain, she took the advice, but she hardly understood it and she was growing to be quite discouraged as she became the only one who has not done the “cry of adulthood.” Soon it was the day before they would leave the mountain to the village, Shreya decided to spend her time climbing and would stray away from the others against the mountain carrier’s warnings. It was at sunset that Shreya felt a sort of pull as she looked out into the mountain range. Innocently thinking no one would hear her, she cried out to the mountains. Unknown to her, the cry was the strongest one out of the whole group and the even those in the village could hear such a passionate cry. After an hour nap, Shreya was awakened by the mountain crier and he did not scold her for her misdeed. They went back the village and Shreya was heartbroken that she had not reached adulthood like the others. Shreya was trying to figure what to say to her parents when they approached the village. When they reached there, the mountain crier spoke of the journey. He mentioned lastly that Shreya did her cry without his permission, declaring her defiance as a reach to adulthood and mark of someone with a grand future.

Shreya would grow to be a respectable member of the tribe. She was considered one of the best warriors and did exceptionally well under the tutelage of her uncle. It came to the point where her uncle felt he could not teach her more and she became part of the hunting party. Shreya felt the need to achieve higher goals. As she learned from the hunters, she began to train to gain the title of warrior. To gain that title a member of the tribe would be tested vigorously as warriors often left the village to scout lands beyond their borders to make sure invaders would not reach their village. They would also go out to hunt any beasts that happened to terrorize any part of their land. Such responsibility was only given to the best of the warriors in the village. Shreya was willing to go through anything to take on such a role like her ancestor. Shreya would be seen training hard, taking on challenges from anyone, and even took trips on the mountains to meet the mountain criers. Upon reaching the age of twenty-two and refusing many requests of marriage, she was officially stated as one of the warriors. Even then, she was still looking ahead to reach the title of Mountain Crier which she accomplished after three years.

Years have passed and Shreya had lived happily, but a part of her still yearned to reach far beyond where the warriors of her tribe dare travel. She would climb above the mountain, sending out a cry of victory after her returns and still see a vast land she had yet to see. Her wish, as she would learn, would prove to the most challenging trial she would ever face. It started as a normal journey with the warriors. This time the person leading the trip would be a new member with Shreya as the overseer. There was sighting of trolls near the edge of the forest that were slaughtering numerous amounts of elk that entered the forest through the plains. There was no danger at first and it seemed like it would an uneventful trip. The group then spilt off evenly. Shreya and her group managed to meet their target. The fight was a slaughter on the trolls’ part. Aiming to cut off the trolls head, an swift arrow beat her to it. It would be then Shreya would meet the rebellion for the first time. Before another warrior could cry out an alert another enemy, Shreya silenced the warrior and let the rebels approach. The Rebel leader spoke of trade in a delicate way as if Shreya could not understand his language. Her response to him was her stern gaze and the warriors waited for Shreya to speak. It was then she heard the cry of the others. Shreya glanced at the rebellion and took a risk. She let out a clear yet gentle cry that echoed through the plains, signaling to the others that all was safe. It was beginning of a strange truce between her and the rebels.

It would end tragically. Shreya’s curiosity of the land beyond would reemerge. The rebels had taken camp in the forest and far enough not to disturbed or encourage thougths of threat to the tribe. With this, the tribe was willing to trade with the rebels with the exception of magitek. Shreya slowly began to grow interested in the rebels. She began with simple questions and soon she felt she could not make the questions stop. The Rebel leader would explain his cause and others, who were willing to share, would also fill in questions of what is happening in Avilion. It came to a point where her best friend had shown concern towards Shreya and her trust towards the rebels. Their magitek was foreign to them and regarded as very dangerous. Tension rose and Shreya’s best friend planned an attack with others. Shreya had found out and managed to stop the attack by killing her friend before he brought a blow on the rebel leader. Shreya was taken in as a criminal to her tribe and trial was performed before the elders outside of the village in the forest with few members of the rebels to witness. Shreya’s titles were stripped from her, but she was not exiled. She was to prove to her village her reason for saving the Rebellion leader by killing one of her own or die trying. Shreya accepted and she has been with the rebels for six months. The many loyal to her now hope to see her return with an answer to their future.

▬▬▬▬▬ POWER to conquer FATE

              ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

              °°°ARMOR
Both Blackner customs, Ludger's full left arm and leg, from his knee to his foot, have been replaced by standard magitek due to his degrating bones by his disease. Both parts are made up in two layers: skeleton and armor. The armor layer can be detached with some help. With skeleton layer off, the archduke can actually cover both skeleton parts with clothing, but he only does so when he sleeps. The skeleton layer needs to be cleaned twice a month and that has to be handled by a skilled mechanic. Also since this is standard magitek, it has no magical properties. It is simply powered by myrr. While the parts are heavy, they feel light to the duke, because of the myrr that is put in them to help move and support. They can do damage if they are used to hurt someone, but there is a risk that such force can damage the pieces. These pieces are not meant be used as weapons. Another thing to note is that the armor layer is lifted from the elbow where a slot can be found to insert myrr to the arm. For the leg, the armor over the knee is lifted where a slot can be found to insert the myrr.

              °°°WEAPONS
This is also a Blackner custom and the archduke's favorite rifle. It is simply uses gunpower to fire bullets and has not magical properties. It is more a hunting rifle used for sport.

              °°°ABILITIES
Other than being a very convincing Politian, Ludger does know how to fire rifles as he does so as a hobby by either hunting on horseback or simply shooting at clay disks. He is no expert shot, however.

▬▬▬▬▬ with OR without a SOUL

              ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

              °°°PERSONALITY
                  Impersonal
Ludger has learned since he was young that taking everything to heart makes a weak person. This was especially regarded towards his father and the other nobles that he got to know later as a young man. There were only a few people that he truly showed his true feelings to and they have both passed away. This part of him hardened after their passing. Even his own family can have a hard time reading the man as he shows little emotions. Despite this, the man's hard poker face has made him a great noble and he has even brought fear to others with his hard gaze. His detactment has made him a great leader as he takes all ideas and focuses on improving. Of course, there are always some issues that he supports that others find controversial.

                  Tactical
Diving into the noble social world, Ludger did not see a lavish party, but a war of words. Of course, Ludger had always been a prepared and walked in this type of war with careful steps. When he was young, he was always amused by those witty comments that nobles always use to stab eachother. Now, he is a man who will smile at the thought another trying to outwit him. Even in the most stressful situations, Ludger is always thinking ahead as he has his family name to protect. He knows his decisions will ultimately hurt him if he is not careful. Of course, he knows things do not always go out as planned and so the man has a habit of making sure he has a backup.

                  Opportunist
Even when things are not his favor, Ludger knows to wait and strike at the perfect moment to weaken an enemy. In his youth, he always was the one to watch his brother and cousin play-fight and point out their weak points. As a young noble, he got to know nobles well enough to see what type person they were and mentally took note of their weak points. In business, Ludger would make sure to expose that vunerable spot and come out on top. He is a man who likes to look at his cards and look at the players, picking out the weak-willed and using that to his advantage. He is a careful and patient man. If he sees a good opportunity that will benefit him, he will take it and crush those that are below him.

              °°°LIKES
Magitek: He mostly collects them, especially rifles. He happens to like the Blackner customs which are rare now.
Chess: He is good at the game. However, he does not always win on purpose. He likes to get know people through it.
Tea: One would think he would hate it by now since he would always drink it since he young, but the man ended up loving it.
Military: Grand supporter of it. He also does not expect his guards to be highly skilled. They should be.
Family: He does. He really does. He just doesn't show it.
His guards: He actually has great pride in them. However, he does make sure they are the best of the best.

              °°°DISLIKES
Excuses: There is no such thing as a good excuse unless you are simply inept.
Ignorance: This is towards nobles, because they should not be and he has half the mind to give them a good lesson on how absurb they are.
Guildmaster: He openly tells the man that he finds him infuriating. Frankly, Ludger respects him, but hates him so much at the same time.
Cleaning his magitek arm and leg: It is a time consuming task, but he knows it must be done.
Apostates: He despises them with a passion.
His disease: What he fears the most and the possibility that his son might inherit the disease.
Illness: He was sick most of his youth so he hates being sick.

▬▬▬▬▬ QUIETripples of the PAST

              ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

              °°°HISTORY
The Adlla family line has always been a strong family whose ancestors had close relative ties to the first king. As years pass by and blood ties were separated from the royal family. The Adlla continued to be a great and respectable noble family. Despite all the riches and glory the name held, there would be one disease that would slowly cripple the family. All their riches and glory could not save them from this disease and it was lesson that Simon Franklin Adlla would learn very well. This disease was killing off high seats in in their noble family and businesses were about to erupt by bad decision making on the young fresh faced heirs. What is even worse is that this fatal blow to the business was a slow one, but other nobles saw it coming and they were quick to target the young fawns of the Adlla family. Politics was its own type of war and it seemed that the Adlla family was going to have a torturous defeat. Simon, as head of the family, was doing his best to stay afloat, but the nobles whispered that family would soon die. No one would have believed the sickly heir of Adlla, Ludger Franklin Adlla, would crush their hopes in over taking the family.

Ludger was sickly thing in his youth. Ludger always managed to get himself bed-ridden over something. His family found it strange since he was perfectly normal and very healthy baby, especially since his mother was very very careful (almost to the point of obsession) with him as a baby. Ludger’s father worried over his son and had doubts that he would even survive. This doubt produced another heir named Gavin when Ludger was six years old. Ironically, this baby got sick as often as Ludger, but fortunately became a healthy boy. With the new addition to the family, Ludger did not grow any kind of bitterness. Ludger would be curious and very protect of his brother. Their bond would impact Ludger as they grew up together.

Growing up in the Adlla mansion, Ludger learned to enjoy the company of two people: his younger brother and his cousin who was only two years older than Ludger. They brought him all kind of toys and taught him all types of games when he was bed ridden. They would laugh and speak of the funny things that happened in town. When Ludger could, he would escape with his younger brother and cousin into town to play with the other children on the streets in disguise as normal street children. They got into in all sorts of trouble that went unnoticed by the guards who they would constantly ran away from. When Ludger was not bed ridden, they play in the acres of land that his family owned. Their favorite game to play was the game of knights, fighting off monsters and whatever evil in the way. The three were very close friends and all of them shared the same dream to become a knight as all young boys do.

Growing up in the Adlla mansion, Ludger learned that dreams sometimes don’t become a reality. Ludger and Gavin were both tutored in many academic classes in order to prepare them to become proper nobles. Ludger was not pushed too hard to do well in the physical courses, but Gavin was pushed to do well on all classes. Gavin, sadly, did not do very well in literature, math, history, and so on. Gavin did make up for it in classes that involve music or physical activities, but of course that was not enough for their father. Ludger’s brother would often get a scolding and Ludger would do everything he could relieve pressure on his brother. Ludger studied hard and did brilliantly well in his academic classes. He was even known to sometimes correct his tutors, especially the ones that were awfully hard on his younger brother. Regardless, their father continued to pressure Gavin, especially after finding out he wanted to become a knight. This all started when Gavin was given a sword by his cousin to practice with. In their whole play time, Gavin accidently hurt his brother eye. Gavin quickly went for help and crying that he hurt his brother. His father was furious and completely discouraged the boy in his dream of becoming a knight. However, Ludger forgave his brother and told him to keep on with his dream.

As a teenager, Ludger's health had greatly improved. The relationship with his younger brother and older cousin continued to be strong. The dream of being knight had not died within the boys, but Ludger knew he could not accomplish such a task. With his father raining pressure on his brother and Ludger barely gaining attention from his father, he knew he would have to push to become an archduke to see that his brother could have the freedom to be a knight along with his older cousin. His brother, his cousin and Ludger made up a plan. Ludger would do his best to gain his father attention through the noble society. Soon as Ludger was causing commotion, his father might see him as a better heir. His brother and his cousin could go off and train. They would have to first join the Vitascuren guard as Ludger begins to distract his father and later convince him to let them join the guard, considering the family look over the guards. Later, Ludger would help them join royal guard if they work hard. With the plan organized, Ludger became quite the observer at the Adlla dinner parties and balls before he became the young man with the sharp tongue. He developed into being quite the entertainment and many nobles found the young man’s wit entertaining. As Ludger was gaining social status among the noble class and attention from his father, his younger brother and cousin were training to become knights.

As a young man, Ludger became quite the social topic among many nobles. Ludger was a mysterious figure among the noble community. Being bedridden most of his early life and kept in his home, Ludger was not the son that his father would gloat about to others. However, those that attended the Adlla’s gatherings were intrigued by the “the witty lame heir” of the Adlla family. Ludger had also offered excellent advice to many of his father’s high standing friends and was even helping his father build on their business. This only made his image more of a mystery to others, especially those who had questions of their financial woes. Ludger played with this strange type of popularity and would only attend events when he felt up to it. As Ludger’s popularity was growing, his father began to notice his son’s potential for being an heir rather than his younger brother. His father began to actually take Ludger's advice more often and even started encourage him to take on invitations from other nobles. Of course, Ludger was careful with his decisions and took any tasked passed to him seriously. His work and efforts were always done flawlessly. This made his father trust him and he managed to convince his father to let his younger brother join the Vitascuren guard.

As the years passed, Ludger continued to follow the line of as heir of the Archduke as his brother served as a knight of Vitascuren guard along with their cousin. His father was pleased with the process Ludger was making and his ever growing social reputation. It was all the more reason to put Ludger as heir, because the archduke’s health was deteriorating. At this time, Ludger was slow on the process in helping his brother reach the capital to see if he could be part of the royal guard. With their father’s health and other duties, Ludger was finding it hard to find time. His cousin and his brother decided to pull that burden off of Ludger. They decided to take a mission that involved capturing an apostate that was stated to be hiding at Vitascuren at the time. It was a well wanted apostate and if the mission was accomplished, they could reach the royal guard without Ludger’s help. Ludger, of course, was not informed of this plan as he would have disagreed and with good reason. However, the two decided to go with the plan despite the risks and it ended up being a great loss to the family.

The struggle and death of Ludger’s brother and cousin did not go unnoticed. While the apostate was slain, damage was done to the city and civilians were wounded. The whole thing was a mess and it brought a lot of stress for Ludger. For his father, it ended up being too much. His health worsened and Ludger was being pressured to married as his father was slowly dying. Ludger was in no mood for courting after losing his brother, cousin and now he would soon lose his father. Ludger began to bury himself with work and look over his father until he died.

Three months later, Ludger started to appear in balls as the new Archduke of Vitascuren. He seemed to have grown past the deaths of his relatives and was looking for a wife. In part this was true, but also it was not. Ludger had no interest in love as he was sure it did not exist within the nobility. However, Ludger was not about to marry anyone. He at least wanted a woman with a head. He did find one and approached her with all the formality. Privately, Ludger was straight to the point and made a contract with the woman. The contract consisted of particular agreements. One: she provided him with an heir. Two: she will not dishonor the Adlla name with any b*****d children. Three: if two things are met then, he will provide her a estate and she will be entitled to own pension of money that would separate from the money she will earn at his death. She agreed and the contracted was signed. So far, she had provided him a son and unexpected daughter, but nothing to shame the family.

Throughout all the success and growth of power of his family, Ludger was fighting one losing battle as he passed the age of fifty. It seem he also gained the disease that was killing off his family. There were signs that were similar to his father: joint pain in his left leg and arm, and weakened walk. It was then he went to the Guildmaster to seek a cure or if he knew of the disease. The Guildmaster offered an alternative and something that was like nothing that anyone was seen before: magitek. At the time, it was in its earlier developments, but it was making be leaps. While it was supposed to provide him with a cure, he knew that the technology could provide more than that and could see what the Guildmaster wanted in return. The Archduke agreed and sent in funding to the project, but once the technology was introduced he could see the controversy regarding the technology. However, that did not discourage the Archduke from funding. The man was adamant about strengthening his nation and the military as he feared for the other nations that threaten Avillion. He was first on the list of nobles that highly regarded the military. This faith in the military only grew when the first rebellion emerge and the Archduke quickly began this campaign for magitek. Sadly, his body could not wait until the nobles accepted magitek and the Archduke had been going operations over a series of painful years. Parts were assembled before they looked like a mechanic arm and legs that could be hidden by clothing. As this was going on, debate between the nobles would hit a high about the topic of magitek. It would all end when the Ludger would show the finish product of his arm and leg, pushing forward magitek to the public and starting the magitek era of Avilion.

Now with a new rebellion rising, Ludger only waits and hopes to be prepared for the outcome of Avilion. He is always looking for an opportunity.

Dane Blackner: The Archduke was a faithful funder, encourager and finally customer of the young talented man. While the young man did not get along with everyone, Ludger had no problem with him. He had once gave a description of Dane to a noble friend as having "the passion of my brother and the wicked tongue of my cousin." Since the boy was highly liked by the archduke, Blackner's reputation had skyrockted. Of course, the young man was utimately given the choice staying with the guild or death (as it is was well known that the archduke held no mercy to apostates). Blackner's decision angered the Archduke and inwardly sadden even disappointed by the whole event. When his knights went to pursue the young man, the Archduke stopped the search when they came back with nothing. Such a decision would lessen the spread of Blackner being label an apostate. Ludger does not know that Blackner has joined the rebels.

▬▬▬▬▬ POWER to conquer FATE

              ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

              °°°ARMOR
                  - Dragonscale Armour:
Not only was it made from the scales from the very dragon she slew, but it was also crafted as a gift as a thank you for helping to slay the beast and save her hometown. It was a major upgrade from her original leather armour, as well as still light and flexible enough for her to move around in. It's actual value is monumental as the scales were harvested and made fresh, as well as the armour itself was also customized. Anything made from Dragon parts is always considered high in value from a starting point, but even with that aside, the armour itself is still a beautiful and rare sight to behold.

                  - Dragontooth Necklace:
Her personal souvenir that she kept for herself after she impaled the dragon's throat, knocking out one of it's teeth with one of the side-blades of her tri-pronged lance. It's the only piece of jewellery she wears, but she remains proud of it to this day.

              °°°WEAPONS
                  - Sword:
An upgrade from her old Townguard blade, she was given this sword as a gift when she first joined the knights of the Royal Guard. She uses this sword mainly in battle as it is easy to wield for all purposes.

                  - Lance:
Her favourite weapon affectionately named "Dragonsbane" (and tri-pronged, as see in her full picture). Alexis wields this weapon best with both speed, flexibility, finesse and brutality, and can even fight with it from a distance. It's easy enough for her to use in both offence and defence, and her years of simply play fighting and practicing with the broken pitchfork in her youth had given her an early start to mastering the uncommon weapon. She only uses this when she is fighting a particularly challenging opponent or if she is outnumbered.

              °°°ABILITIES
                  - Strength:
Alexis is remarkably strong for both her stature and for being female. Probably one of her greatest physical feats and one of her most unusual traits. She's stronger than most of the males she has encountered, can carry heavy objects and break many wooden objects with ease.
                  - Endurance:
She can withstand a lot of damage and keep carrying out a fight until she is on her last legs.
                  - Dexterity:
She has actually trained herself to be ambidextrous for the sake of good measure, less limitations, and in case if she happens to lose an arm in the future.
                  - Stamina:
Alexis can train and fight for a long period of time without wearing out quickly. Her endurance also includes lasting without rest for a long time while running or doing other physical labour.
                  - Flexibility:
Helps her fight at many angles and twist herself accordingly to use complex moves and avoid hits. This especially comes in handy when she is fighting more than one opponent, and is also another reason why she prefers light armour.
                  - Strategic Thinking/ Problem Solving:
Something she always has had a knack for, thinking outside the box and as much as she could help it, to try to be one step ahead of everyone else. Thinking of the unusual for a solution or observing and applying what she sees to her advantage has been one of her greatest assets as a knight and 2nd in command.

                  - Ruthless/Formidable

For the more notable personality traits, her limited and awkward tendencies come from not being used to hanging out in a general crowd. She has no other skills outside her sparring, which includes the lack of being able to do normal 'female' household jobs, including cooking and tailoring. She is awkward in the way that she doesn't always know how to respond or act in another group setting, which often embarrasses her more than not.

Her other flip-side is her ruthless nature that only comes out when she is fighting or angered. For some reason she is unafraid and does not flinch at the sight of blood or gore, not even fazed when she is covered in it herself. She has cut off many limbs in the past with decapitations being her staple means of execution, none of it even making her bat an eyelid. It is unknown to even herself why she is like this.

                  - Physical work:
Gives her something to do and keeps her fit. It's also great alone time if she wants to think about things.
                  - Sparring/ Fighting:
One of her favourite activities as she enjoys the competition and adrenaline rush. Also the more practice the better.
                  - Weapons in General:
Considering how much she has had to work with them, she has grown knowledgable about them and enjoys the wide variety.
                  - Positive Feedback/ Making People Proud/ Recognition:
Like anyone, she loves it when she is seen in great light about what she can do. Being heavily overshadowed and looked down upon in the past years of her life, she feels ecstatic to finally be noticed and looked upon for the things she can do.
                  - Animals/ Magical Creatures:
Alexis has always had an interest in beasts of any kind. This is more of a closet interest as she doesn't want to share this interest with her fellow guardsman in fear of embarrassment; though if it wasn't for this hobby, she never would've been able to save her hometown. She is often distracted by animals and will occasionally have 'girly moments' where she gets cute with critters. However, she will not hesitate to kill a beast that is threatening the lively of her people, but will still forever respect and adore the beasts she has to slay. She also keeps secret how much she loves unicorns, and how one of her greatest goals in life is to witness the Manticore with her own eyes.
                  - Food:
Alexis has a monster of an appetite. Growing up in a small town with nothing but scarce and plain food, living with a large family and doing as much physical labour she does daily always means she is hungry. Upon moving to Shayseran where the Royal Family and the guards eat much more luxurious meals, she cannot resist such a pleasure, food being one of her favourite things. Her favourite food however, is Dragon meat, but considering it is a rare delicacy, she may never have it again. Nothing makes her feel full like Dragon meat does, which might be another factor to her constant appetite. You wanna get to her heart? Try through her stomach.
                  - Drinking:
Like any knight, Alexis has a weakness for mead, ale and wine. She's no lightweight either and can really drink more than most of her fellow guardsman. Unfortunately, she becomes a violent drunk who enjoys challenging everyone at once to brawls, and more often than not, will destroy everything in the bar in a drunken flay of 'merriment'. It's for this reason why she's not allowed into her favourite tavern anymore unless she is accompanied by one of her fellow knights or her Captain.

              °°°DISLIKES
                  - Magiteck:
She never got into the hype of magitek, despite it being always being around her. Being a foreigner, there was no one who used it from her hometown, and thus, finds it to be untrustworthy, unnatural, strange and dangerous. She prefers to fight raw.
                  - Disappointment/ Failure/ Falling Behind:
One of her greatest fears, she is afraid of disappointing everyone including herself.
                  - Rejection/ Being Forgotten:
Another one of her greatest fears, this has caused her to become self-conscious. She does everything in her power to please, and is terrified of falling back into the shadows of her past where she was seen as nothing in the eyes of her family and comrades.
                  - Stubbornness:
She just doesn't have the patience to tolerate it.
                  - Dishonour/ Disrespect:
                  This should be obvious.
                  - Religious Fanatics:
She just finds them strange and crazy. She never got into the divines, often finding the beasts of myth and power to hold a higher standing above the spiritual figures of faith. The fanatics also cause more unnecessary trouble than not, which is a pain to have to deal with.

▬▬▬▬▬ QUIETripples of the PAST

              ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

              °°°HISTORY
Alexis was not from Shaysaren originally, but in fact, was born and raised in a small town outside of the city capitol. Still a fair distance away, the town she would call 'home' is located just north Shaysaren, close to the mountains of Vanaryth's boarders, accompanied with a nearby lake. It went by the name of Draigmark, a place notorious for hearing foreboding echoes from both the mountains and sea. It wasn't really well known town either, even despite it's slightly dangerous reputation. Visitors there were few, but not entirely uncommon as it's location made trading and commerce minimal at best.

Alexis was never raised by both parents. Her father died of natural causes when she was very young, leaving her solely in her mother's care. Alexis' mother Seline, vowed to help the sick, the dying, and nurse the wounded back to health as a form of repentance for not being able to save her husband from his untimely death (and so that no one would have to feel what she went through). Unexpectedly, it turned out that she had a real gift as a healer and soon found herself in high demand not only in Draigmark, but in various other small towns and even Shayseran itself. This kept Seline away from home a lot, and it began to become difficult for her to look after her daughter with all the travelling. This gave her no choice but to send her daughter to the care of her brother-in-law and his family back in Draigmark as it was the best choice available.

Now in the care of her uncle and his rather large family, Alexis rarely got to see her mother and was now just another addition to a family of six. They lived on a farm where they primarily grew crops and raised livestock, but did other things such as lumber-work and fishing on the side. She often found herself overshadowed by her cousins as they were her uncle's birth-children, and Alexis herself never really stood out amongst them with any particular skills she surpassed them with. In fact, the one thriving quality of hers was her remarkable noble-like appearance with a matching noble-sounding name, further identified by her very fair skin and snow-white hair, a very defining trait passed down from her mother.

Finding something for Alexis to do around the farmstead was tricky as her uncle had enough children to do most of the jobs, so she was left to do nothing but random chores around the stead. Her aunt's first thought was to try and raise her to be the perfect lady, to do the things around the house such as cooking, cleaning and tailoring, but Alexis just couldn't get the hang of any of it. Giving up, her aunt returned her to do doing physical labour, which was something Alexis was comfortable with. She enjoyed being alone while she tended to the animals, helped harvest and plant crops, maintain the barn and even to help her second oldest cousin haul around the logs to be chopped.

Over the years the work around the stead helped Alexis become physically stronger, even more so than her two eldest male cousins, something that baffled the entire family and even Alexis herself. She was also the only person who was able to get along with all the horses and even trained the cattle and sheep to follow in-line to their stables every night without having to gather them. Her mother would still send her letters and presents from the various places she visited, giving Alexis something to look forward to and remember that she wasn't forgotten. Her favourite things were the books she was given about heroic lore and various detailed bestiaries. Alexis was always fond of animals and her mother knew this, so she would send her anything to do with mythical creatures whether it be books or novelty items.

Alone her spare time, Alexis would set up her own targets behind one of the barns with leftover hay-bags and pretend to be one of the soldiers from her books, using one of the broken pitchforks as a sword or spear to attack the dummies with her improvised movements. Overtime this self-sparring activity actually helped to build up her arm muscles and technique that would eventually aid her in her future career, which she soon discovered she had a real knack for.

Unfortunately even with this new-found path in life, her relatives felt uncertain that the life as a guardsman wouldn't be suitable for her, even despite her exceptional physical state. The town guards of Draigmark were not against taking in women, but her aunt and uncle still saw her from the outside as a potential noble-wife with a mix of worry and doubt in her abilities. Angered by their lack of support and superficial attitudes, she remained steadfast to her decision and unintentionally broke the down door in her frustrated leave. Luckily for Alexis, the eldest son of her cousins was more down-to-earth and was one of the town guardsman as well. Upon asking for him to put in a good word for her, she was eventually hired and found herself amongst the guardsman if she was able to continue to prove that she could handle the job.

Given a fresh set of armour and a sword, the life of a Town Guard wasn't all she was expecting it to be. Considering their location, bandits and thieves were few, but still proved to be a fun, even if it was only a sparse occurrence. The chase for Alexis when she was able to catch a couple of them herself and kill them on sight was exciting to her (as they were instructed to), perhaps taking it a little too far as her reactions often lead to decapitations or dismemberment. Unfortunately it wasn't as eventful as she was hoping it would be, and she found the metal armour to be rather restricting, heavy and uncomfortable. Most days were boring and the guards would often spar with each other or drink in the taverns when they were off-duty.

Another disadvantage to Alexis' appearance and simply being female, being surrounded by testosterone-sporting men meant that she was constantly being flirted and courted with by her fellow guardsman, all of whom she never quite found to be appealing to her tastes in the first place. The only time she enjoyed being around them was if they were sparring with her, mainly because she would always win due to her unique fighting style, or if it was with her cousin because he was probably the only family member she was comfortable hanging around with.

As the years went on Alexis became one of Draigmark's top guardsman with a reputation for her various decapitation and dismemberment techniques, as well as one of their most ruthless and unfazed when it came to executing threats. Not even the sight of gore or being covered in blood after battle fazed her, where as it would in most women and even some of the fellow guardsman. Despite all this, she still never got the promotion she deserved because her Captain played favourites. This in turn gave Alexis bitter feelings towards him, but she continued to do her job anyways.

One day after a continued series of storms caused an avalanche to the nearby mountains bordering Vanaryth, the dragon who called that place home was distraught by the loss of it's cavern and irritated by the continuous thunderclaps the entire week before. Flying around in a displeased fray, the defening roars of the creature could be heard echoing across the sky, causing panic to the town of Draigmark. It was uncommon for the town to hear echoes in the distance, but this was the first time in a few generations they heard one of this magnitude. The guards were quickly rallied up to prepare to defend the town in case the creature decided to get too close, but what they didn't know was that wouldn't be enough.

Alexis with her extra set of sub-knowledge from her bestiaries was able to quickly identify that it was most likely a matured mid-sized Dragon. As much as she was frightened by the upcoming encounter, she was also excited like no one else to have the opportunity to see such a mighty beast. Against the guards prayers that the dragon would fly away, the large airborne reptile was closing in to the town of Draigmark. In an obvious blind-fury, the behemoth dropped it's jaw and uprooted a good portion of the town with the bellow of it's booming roar.

The guards were in a panic as their leader was trying to get them to gather their bows and their archers to shoot it down, but the armour of the beast simply made the arrows bounce off or break in two. The dragon let out two more bursts of voice as the guards continued their efforts, crumbling a good portion of the town to rubble with quite a few casualties of civilians and guardsman. The roars made Alexis' ears ring, but she was still faring alright because she managed to shelter herself from the cries while many others took it full on.

This was able to give Alexis time to observe the dragon more closely and come up with a suitable plan and get to her captain. "You HAVE to shoot it's wings! Ground it!!" she said to her commander, but in an act of being stubborn and not accepting to take orders from someone under him, he refused to listen to her advice. He continued to tell his guards to try and shoot the dragon in the heart, even despite Alexis telling him that there was way too many factors making that impossible to do. "Try to stay behind it and shoot it's wings!" Alexis pressed on, but her captain did not budge. She began to quickly run to the other side of town as fast as she could, remaining in the opposite flight direction of the dragon as it was preparing to come back for another round. "I want to watch it's eyes as it dies by my hand!" her foolish commander continued. "You idiot! IT DOESN'T HAVE EYES!" she shouted back, but it was already too late. The blind captain was killed by the blind drake in a powerful cry that sent him flying and tore him to bits, and now it was prime time that someone around here listened to her.

Alexis took the Captain's discarded lance and was the first to step up to take control of the scattered and panicked guardsman and villagers, and with her cousin's support, everyone finally began to listen to her commands. She ordered the archers to shoot it's wings to ground it, and to try and stay in the opposite direction of it's face and remain out of front-view at all costs. The townspeople were gathered to a safe area underground and soon with enough effort the dragon's wings were torn and it crashed into the centre of Draigmark. With that Alexis had everyone get all the chains and rope they could find and try to bind it's tail and legs and hold it in place. With that she made her way to the front of the dragon and watched as it's flexible throat muscles began to quiver and sink in, quickly identifying that it was about to let out another bellowing roar, and even worse, at such close range. Without a second thought she spun around the Captain's lance and pierced through the dragon's throat with all her might, causing the long tri-pronged weapon to penetrate all the way to the dragon's brain, killing it before it had a chance to let out one more roar.

Exhausted and covered in the blood of the beast, Alexis was able lead her comrades to defeat the dragon threat and saved her town. There was a large amount of casualties, but the bigger picture was that everyone else survived. Alexis then adopted the lance that represented her home town, and now being the proper owner of such a weapon, she named it "Dragonsbane". She finally became renowned and recognized for her efforts, skills and accomplishments.. just like she had always wanted and always deserved. The townspeople were able to then harvest the dragon's bones, scales and meat and were able to sell them to make enough money to rebuild their town after the aftermath.

Alexis kept a tooth she knocked out for herself as a souvenir, and the townspeople crafted her a dragonscale armour set as a gift because if it wasn't for her, it wouldn't be dead in the first place. Alexis also found that she LOVED the taste of dragon meat, but with it being such a rare and unheard of delicacy, it would probably be something she would never eat again. Her appetite was never quite the same after that; nothing else was able to make her feel as satisfied like dragon meat could. Word soon spread about what happened as the dragon-parts were sold to Shayseran, not to mention the roars of the dragon could be heard for miles. She was soon approached by Liam, the Captain of the Royal Guard from Shayseran and found her new place amongst him and his crew as his second, serving as one of the knights for the Royal Family.

Alexis also has a pet Ferret named Rascal. It was a gift to her from Oriana and often is seen hanging around in her quarters or when Alexis is alone doing her chores.

Alexis' thoughts on the people she knows:
Liam Aodhan (The Captain of the Royal Guard): "Though I've never had much of a family growing up, Liam is like the father I never had. I love him dearly, but I still don't feel like I fit in around here. He continues to believe in me, preparing me to take his place as a sort of 'heir' to his position as Captain of the Royal Guard. Even though I do everything I can to make him proud of me, I still don't think that I would be accepted alongside the Royals at all if he wasn't around. I'm still not sure if I could lead the Royal Guards like he could, nor if the guards would even respect me the same way once he is gone. I really prefer not to think about this if I can… but I still don't know if I'm ready"

Tyler J. Stirling (The Stoic Guard): "Well… to be honest I can't quite say that I have much of an opinion on him. He doesn't really chat much… or react much. He does his job though and is good at it, so I suppose he's not all bad. I'm not really fond of his armour though, it just feels to unnatural to me."

Brendon Sheck (The Tenacious Guard): "Though I'm not really fond of his magiteck, he's a really great knight. Quite often I feel like I have to keep competing with him in order to keep my rank. There are too many reasons I can see where he would be promoted above me if Liam wasn't around. He already has an edge on me with his use of magiteck which I still refuse to even touch. It just means I have to work even harder to keep my title and only form of respect I can hold. I think he must have some kind of weird charisma about him because for some reason he grabs the attention of many who see him, including commoners, travellers, and even the Prince… honestly I just prefer to avoid getting involved. I'm not going to lie, but I can't believe how envious I am of him and for so many reasons…"

Angeline Serrano (The Eccentric Guard): "The girl is a little strange, though I have to admit I don't really know her well. To be quite honest I don't know most of the guard well, despite how closely we work in proximity to each other."

Oriana Berly (Naive Adept): "Oriana may be a little crazy, but she is by far the first person whom I can call my best friend. She's always happy and it's easy for me to be myself around her. I have little to no female friends, so it's nice to have Oriana to talk to. She may be a little naive, but I still find it to be really funny and cute. She always brings me the most delicious sweets and baked goods too! Even better is the fact that she can cook them herself! Not only that, but we both share the interest in creatures both mythical and wild, and what makes it more remarkable is her ability to transform into them! She's the first alteration caster I have ever seen, and she can even make herself into a Unicorn and a Griffin, two of my favourites! And she even gives me air rides! She is by far one of the best people to hang out with. DId I mention her hair was pink?"

Diedrich R. Gallahad (The King of Avilion): "Again, I have a pretty basic opinion about him. He's the King, our King, and that is that. I will do as he says as that is my duty. I haven't really talked to him face to face though, and it's not like I'd ever expect to either."

Bastana Grace Gallahad (The Queen of Avilion): "The Queen is… not really the kind of person I was expecting her to be. To be bluntly honest, I can't say I really like her much. I'm not really fond of religious fanatics, and she isn't really the nicest person out their either. She dotes on her son way too much, and I have already noticed him picking up on her bad habits, and even worse, picking up worse traits of his own. Regardless… I sill respect her as the Queen and will do whatever she asks as I still work under her. This doesn't mean I have to like it, just… tolerate it. At least I'm good about keeping my opinions and tongue to myself."

Ethan Gallahad (The Royal Heir): "Of course, Ethan. He's nothing but a spoiled, vain, rude, arrogant, pompous, disrespectful and distasteful excuse for a Prince. Like his mother, I do not like him one bit and honestly don't know how I'm going to feel having him rule over me or Shayseran once the King is gone and once I am Captain. Knowing him, he'd probably fire me or execute me and replace me with his eye-candy, Brendan. What? Does he think I haven't noticed? And obviously I can tell he doesn't like me either, but I still do my job to keep my opinion to myself and do nothing to disrespect the 'precious heir', and bite my tongue, doing as I do… and protect him and the city. I just bloody well hope it's going to be worth it."

              ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

              °°°ARMOR
                  Light, comfortable clothing –
Silen will usually wear very casual clothing, preferring to remain inconspicuous. It would be a lie to say that she does not miss the silk dresses and extravagant clothes she wore as a child, but she can neither afford the luxury, nor the attention it draws. At times when it is a benefit to her or when she has time to relax and goof off, she wears much more revealing clothes, simply to suit her flirtatious attitude.

              °°°WEAPONS
                  Composite Bow –
A longbow crafted out of two strips of strong, pliable steel fastened to a rod of yew wood is her favorite weapon. A strong line of sinew is her choice for a bowstring, since it does not fray or grip arrows by the notch. Because of the complex, but strong and flexible design, she treats it like a treasure. It was incredibly expensive, and she spent the better part of an entire year in her career with the rebellion leader’s band of thieves saving up for it. She keeps it unstrung until it must be used in order to keep the bow from losing its flex and because it can be concealed in a hollow quarterstaff she sometimes carries.

                  Oak Quarterstaff –
Nothing more than a bludgeon at best. Its real use is to conceal her bow when she is wandering around in public.

                  Daggers –
She keeps at least two on her person at all times, one in her bodice, another in her boot. Usually, they are a tool of intimidation, just a tool, or a last resort. She doesn’t have any real skill with them other than cutting a coin purse off someone’s belt.

              °°°ABILITIES
                  Expert of Archery –
Silen was instructed from childhood how to hold, draw, and fire a bow properly. She is well-practiced in the form of archery, and displays exceptional prowess. She can shoot accurately, even on the run. She absolutely detests the crossbow because it is slow, and, in her opinion, requires no skill to fire. She can fire arrows in rapid succession, and often people marvel that such a small girl can draw such a thick bow so quickly. She simply answers, “Strength isn’t the only thing needed to draw a bow, it’s the all in the breath.” Just because she can claim this skill as her true calling; however, does not make her a soldier. She still struggles with the thought of killing; it simply is not her way.

                  Adept of Stealth –
She has been living on the streets, stealing and looting for the last seven years of her life. Such a lifestyle requires an affinity for, as she calls it, “The art of ‘shut the hell up.’” Even though sarcastic, she is entirely serious in practice. She has a very light step and has quickness of foot. She hasn’t stayed alive for the last seven years on charity…well…at least not REAL charity. When she saw a shiny stone in someone’s pocket, or on their hands and neck, she learned methods of misdirecting their attention so that she could take it and walk away without their notice. Lastly, she has made it her second passion to learn the inner workings and intricacies of locks. These days, people keep their precious stones, coins, and metals greedily locked away in chests and lockboxes, so she learned to be a bit flexible in order to be a proud burglar, and that required being a proper locksmith. Overall, she is a very flexible thief, and a jack of all trades and a master of none as far as larceny goes. With a few more years of practice though, she swears she can change that.

                  Adept of Speechcraft –
Without a doubt, Silen’s once noble upbringing managed to instill something into her. She was taught how to speak properly, how to carry oneself, proper etiquette, table manners, and an extensive vocabulary. It would have been foolish of her to throw all that away. Learning all that grammar and lady-like behavior has its benefits. Besides having an uncanny ability to turn men’s heads and having the joy of watching them trip over themselves from her flirtatious behavior and witty wordplay, she makes for a dangerous liar, can offer tempting bribes, and is a hell of a cheat. She can even drive a hard bargain with the local merchants. Unfortunately, she has a reputation in Shaysaren that keeps the merchants from wanting to deal with her. Not all skills are without consequences.

                  Apprentice of Acrobatics –

As you might have guessed, yes, Silen has been caught from time to time when liberating a gentleman of the burden of his heavy purse. The guards are none too pleased, and certainly not grateful at her generosity, so prison became her inspiring incentive to learn how to run, duck, and dodge as swifty as possible. She can climb anything easily gripped, like a tree, but do not expect her to turn to the rooftops as her prime means of escape. Besides that, she knows Shaysaren like the back of her hand, there are dozens of places to hide in that old town.

              ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

              °°°PERSONALITY

                  Judgmental, Sarcastic
Silen used to be the model of a proper, well-behaved young lady within Shaysaren’s nobility. Now, she’s can hardly be recognized as a commoner, a pretty face at best. What has formed Silen’s personality is the fact that she is a survivor of a series of unfortunate events caused, in her opinion, entirely by the arrogance of nobles. The transformation was not caused by the death of her parents alone, or even the rebellion and the massacre that resulted, but also by falling from high-class society, to below the poverty line overnight. Were it not for someone looking after her, she likely would have died from hunger. In any case, she had the curse of living both the life of a noble and a beggar. She considers nobles very arrogant, sheltered, and spoiled, just like she had been. As such, she has a deep-rooted disgust for anyone that appears arrogant, self-absorbed, or never had to work for anything in their life and expect all the good things in the world to be handed to them. Silen is a hard worker because it is how she survived all this time, by pulling her own weight and then some, so when she sees somebody with a head full of hot air, prancing around like their the greatest thing that has ever happened to the world, it’s almost enough to drive her to drinking. Her sarcasm and wit are legendary. She has almost no tact whatsoever. The only honest thing she’ll ever say, is the thing that someone needs to hear when they don’t want to hear it, especially when nobody else is willing to say it.

                  Experienced, Harsh
Silen has good judgment of character, and is very street smart, but that tends to make her undeniably, unbelievably, insensitive. She is both honest and tactless, and even a little bitter. At first glance, people just consider her plain old bitchy, but she is simply an apathetic tomboy that lost two father figures in her life, and grew up surrounded by rugged, remorseless bandits. To put it lightly, her concept of compassion is a bit skewed as a consequence. When people approach her with problems, she is likely to rebuke them for being weak, thoughtless, stupid, and so on, long before she offers any advice. Still, if you ask her for it and can stand to listen to her long enough, she sometimes has something good worth listening to. Despite a brief education, she is probably more book-smart than the majority of the bandits she has lived with for the past half-decade, still, one can’t expect a teenaged girl to spend five years with a bunch of criminals and expect not to learn an encyclopedia’s worth of more practical knowledge.

                  Generous, Self-less
For all the harshness and apathy that makes her less desirable to be around, she has a more sensitive side for people less fortunate than she is. She is not completely without compassion, she simply either does not have the capacity or the right vocabulary to express it. She has a particularly soft spot in her heart for people that are less fortunate than herself, because if you’re doing worse than she is, then you must have it really bad. However, any benevolent behavior that she expressed was highly discouraged by her compatriots. She wasn’t entirely sure why, but it was embarrassing for them to be seen giving anything of themselves to the poor. So, even though she has a Robin Hood complex, she is embarrassed whenever caught acting on it.

                  Fun-loving, Playful
These are the two best known traits about her. If ever she yells at someone, nine out of ten times, it is because they are too serious or they are being a kill joy. Silen loves to have fun and can find entertainment in almost any circumstance, and yes, she’s a hopeless flirt. She jokes constantly, throws her sarcasm into any conversation whenever the opportunity presents itself. She’s a phenomenal actor as well. She can be the bashful, shy little girl she was grown up to be, she can be professional, charismatic, stupid, smart, basically anything that can be faked with a behavioral change. For her, it’s a game, everything is. Even though she’s always wearing a smile though, it’s actually a front. Her checkered past, her sad circumstances, the things that she has resorted to in order to survive, the deaths of her parents and her mentor, none of it was ever dealt with, and she harbors a lot of guilt and sorrow behind that smiling face. However, she’ll never talk about it. Her sob-story is just the same as all the others. She’s not the only orphan left behind by the war, and she knows it. It does no good to make yourself a burden for others.

▬▬▬▬▬ QUIETripples of the PAST

              ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

              °°°HISTORY
Silen was born into the Tartarus family, the daughter of a statesman in the Avilion court. Her father was a very rigid, strict, and conservative man, as she remembers him. He insisted that there was always a certain way of doing things, very routine and regimented. Her mother, who came from a more modest family, was a bit more loose when it came to rules, and encouraged her child to enjoy life as fate intended. Despite their difference of opinion, Silen found a good balance. What she ended up with was her father’s sarcasm, rather than his superiority and her mother’s generosity rather than her proper, lady-like posture. When she was a child, she had to go through a tedious regimen of rhetoric and grammar, writing, language, and archery. She took to the archery simply because it was more fun than the others. But that was simply her early life. As she reached her teen years, the world seemed to be obsessed with the gap between the social classes. Of course, her father was very arrogant in his opinion of the rumors of rebellion, simply dismissing that sort of talk as discontented beggars wishing for things greater than their station. Her mother was more sympathetic to the cause, but did not support it or the violent talk. Silen simply did not understand the fact that not everyone was a noble, and that there were people that actually lived on the streets. Her innocence was simply ignorance in disguise.

The day came when the talk of rebellion escalated to action. The oppressed people of Shaysaren began harassing, looting, and assaulting the homes of the nobility. People came to Silen’s home in blind rage, throwing their furniture around, breaking things, and shouting. The violence; however, never escalated past the point of the people taking the valuables from the house. Her father was furious, but with no means of defending themselves, complied with the demands of the furious rebels and allowed them to take the small, petty jewels they kept in the home. The fact that these were ordinary, despairing citizens made them hesitate to actually attack a family of three, so they simply looted their home and left the family alone. They weren’t criminals, and they weren’t willing to beat a mother and father half to death in the presence of their own daughter. The only explanation she received from her mother for why strange men came into their home and took their stuff was, “When men are desperate to survive, they’ll do anything, even hurt others to do it. Until you’re starving to death, you don’t know what you’re really capable of.” Somehow, that ominous comment that her mother held, had a sense of foreboding in it. No more than a few days later, the rebellion turned from violent, to massacre.

The denizens of Shaysaren, rebels or not, suffered the same fate at the hands of the King’s navy in their desperate and ruthless bombardment of the capital. Silen has a horrific recollection of only fire, smoke, and the screams of the dying amidst constant and ceaseless, thundering booms. The last she saw of her parents was when her father, in stupor of disbelief and horror, sat on his knees in the streets until eventually a cannonball fell where he was sitting. Suddenly, he was gone. Silen’s mother tried to guide her out of the city, but the panic of the crowd carried them apart, and Silen fell into a storm drain leading out of the city. The river of sulfur and sludge carried her away to the delta of the river and cast her out to the sea. The following day, she found herself beside a campfire, wrapped up in blanket. A strange but very wise old man found her adrift on a piece of floatsam and brought her to shore. Silen did not stay to thank him, and went back to the city to find her mother. She never did find her. Almost two weeks later, she was just one of the many among the starving and destitute people living on the streets without anyone to call friend or family. Whether by happenstance, luck, fate, or whatever you’d like to call it, that same old man happened to pass her in the city as she was begging for money and food. He introduced himself this time as Daniel Piece. For two years, he took care of her in exchange for ‘running errands.’ By that, he taught her how to steal and get away with it, how to thrive in her new environment, how to be a survivor. He even had the knowledge to further the education she used to take for granted. Although he appeared to be but a brittle old man, he was far more than he seemed. Silen is much more willing to speak of Mr. Piece, and considers him more of a father than her real one, but she never speaks of whatever happened to him.

After those two years with her pseudo-father figure, Silen was far more worldly wise and much more keen of how to survive in the cruel world. She ended up joining a group of petty highwaymen after robbing them of a prize they had already stolen. Of course, it was entirely planned, since the first thing she learned about professional larceny was that a thief with no friends tends to have a short career. Silen has seen a lot of success, and has had some good times. This new rebellion is, more or less, her way of settling up with the royal family for their reckless destruction of Shaysaren, the massacre it left behind, and the heartlessness and greed of the King gave such an order.

▬▬▬▬▬ POWER to conquer FATE

              ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

              °°°ARMOR
Sangmu maintains a healthily foreign appearance. Her usual attire consists of:
                  • light robes, tunics, or fitted dresses
                  • a decorative scarf or shawl
                  • patterned, old-fashioned kung fu shoes
                  • a light cloak
                  • several large silver hairpieces and bangles (accessories still left from her past life)
                  • a thick sheet of cloth wrapped around her waist, similar to an obi
All of these outfit pieces are colorful and patterned, not to mention hand sewn.
They are very precious to Sangmu, as she looks after all of her clothing with great care.

              °°°WEAPONS
Sangmu carries only an old, decorative dagger - a gift and family heirloom. It rests carefully sheathed in her obi, but she has no actual use of it, as she refuses to engage in battle. She has been warned by other rebels several times, however, to carry a weapon around at all costs - self-defense is vitally important. Sangmu heeds their advice, though uncertain if she actually needs it.

              °°°ABILITIES
Sangmu has no actual abilities when it comes to weaponry. On the battlefield, she is as useless and harmless as a fly. However, when it comes to other matters, the woman is quite the opposite.

Sangmu has a very vast knowledge of herbal medicine, as it was one of her duties of being Oracle. She specializes in creating medicine, healing salves, and can even go as far as creating remedies for curses. As Oracle, one of her duties was cleansing villagers of demons and evil spirits. Whether this is true or not is unknown, but Sangmu's healing abilities are still quite a crucial asset.

Sangmu holds the knowledge of healing without magic, which, to certain people who hold a fear of anything magical, is certainly very helpful . Having no magical abilities, Sangmu turns to traditional remedies, which, in her hands, become fascinatingly effective. She specializes in not only healing wounds, but also illnesses, stitching up injuries and even dealing with the most gruesome operations (on certain occasions, even amputations).

Despite knowing a great deal about medicine and the human anatomy, Sangmu cannot perform difficult operations or surgeries.

                  Aside from this, Sangmu has:
                  • mastered several instruments
xxxxxSangmu has mastered the erhu and pipa. Though Sangmu is not an entertainer, and has never actually played for guests (there are entertainers for that!), knowing how to play an instrument was a sign of wealth. Sangmu does not regret spending endless hours learning to do so.
                  • learned to read and write
xxxxx Not many individuals in her village could say the same. Such levels of literacy were reserved for aristocracy and noble blood.
                  • access to sacred parchments of her clan
xxxxx These scriptures speak of not only mighty legends and the honorable past of Fen'gwei, but are also the prime sources of wisdom and honor. Only the Oracle has access to such parchments.
                  • a vast knowledge of all the Gods and Goddesses
xxxxx Sangmu believes relentlessly in all of the Gods and Goddesses, and believes she has encountered several of them in her dreams.

Sangmu's stealth and agility are average (if not below average).
                  She cannot swim.

              °°°PERSONALITY
Wise; Sangmu was considered to be the pillar of knowledge in her old home. She had access to all of the sacred parchments, which was a true honor in Fan'gwei. Sangmu knows herself to not hold all of the answers (as truly, a man who thinks himself to be wise is only a fool), but she does her best to share helpful advice and lead a honorable and, most importantly, intelligent life.

Harmonous; From years of meditation and prayers, Sangmu is very calm and reserved. It is very difficult to anger or insult her, and it is said that even in the midst of danger Sangmu manages to preserve her harmonous attitude.

Proud; One of Sangmu's largest flaws is a grande amount of pride. She is proud of her past, her village, and her knowledge.

Kind-hearted; It seemed that indeed the stars did not lie upon her birth. Sangmu truly is kind, often finding it most important to aid others and their suffering. She will not turn a blind eye to those who deserve help, and will do anything in her power to grant them it.

Understanding; Sangmu often shows strange forms of compassion to everything. For instance, though she is deeply spiritual and very reserved, it would be unwise to title Sangmu a "nun". The woman understands the nature of humans, and finds bodily and materialistic pleasures understanding. She also understands the certain necessity of both war and peace. For these reasons alone, Sangmu never seems to judge people, and doesn't title others as "good" or "bad".

Distant; One of Sangmu's darkest downsides is the fact that she seems to be elsewhere most of the time, often falling prey to daydreaming. Sangmu also seems to refuse to grow closer to the culture of the Kingdom and losing her own, and so even for the six years of working with the rebels, she has not shown any change in her behavior or appearance, nor has she taken a particular interest in the history of the cities around her.

              °°°LIKES
                  • Reading
xxxxOften, Sangmu will sit by candlelight and read books or the sacred scriptures of her clan. It calms her and reminds her of the truly important things in life, and what she must fight to protect.

                  • Playing
xxxxAnother way Sangmu enjoys to spend her pastime is playing either one of her two instruments. She cherishes them, as they are gifts from her grandmother (who, in her late years, was too feeble to play any longer), and also because they soothe her.

                  • Incense
xxxxSangmu enjoys lighting candles and incense, as they have a lovely scent and cleanse the atmosphere of any area, making it easier to think.

                  • Good manners
xxxxSangmu enjoys it when others are polite and respectful - it makes working alongside them that much more pleasant.

                  • Rain
xxxxSangmu considers rain to be a gift from the Gods and Goddesses. It refreshes the Earth and cleanses the atmosphere.

              °°°DISLIKES
                  • Unnecessary violence
xxxxSangmu cannot stand violence without reason. It is absolutely pointless.

                  • Raiders
xxxxAfter thet cruel destruction of Fan'gwei and Azai, Sangmu finds she does not trust most thieves and raiders. They usually have personal interests that outweigh the well being of others.

                  • Fish
xxxxSangmu hates the taste of fish. She never eats it, and back in Fan'gwei, it was forbidden to serve her any kind of fish.

                  • Sleeping
xxxxThe healer finds great sleeping to be not only relaxing, but also considers 'dreams' to be a second half to life. We do spend half of our lives sleeping, don't we? The dreams we encounter are not only personal unsolved problems, but our ties to the Gods and Goddesses.

▬▬▬▬▬ QUIETripples of the PAST

              ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

              °°°HISTORY
Sangmu was the granddaughter of the Oracle of Fan’gwei – a distant village in the West. The Oracle was almost an ancient, but very wise, woman. She predicted the girls’ birth with amazing accuracy, informing the townsfolk that a new prophecy had arrived. The infant’s mother died during childbirth, which was quickly understood as a sign that she was indeed very much so destined to replace the Oracle. The old woman claimed that the stars spoke of the baby being a kind, childlike soul, and so she gifted the newborn with the name Sangmu - the kind-hearted one. The villagers were overjoyed, as the Oracle's days of leading the tribe were coming to an end – having a new Oracle was like having the village reborn once again, cleansed from sins and prepared for a new, better life. Sangmu was pampered and swarmed by servants, powdered with tribal make-up and adorned with all of the jewels of the village. She was under strict house rule and was buried under piles of scriptures books and lessons each day. By the time she was a frail young child, she would already recite well-known sayings and prayers, reading and learning from the wisdom of their village's elders, not to mention could play several instruments. When she wasn’t busy studying, her grandmother would teach her the art of herbal medicine, and when Sangmu grew a bit older, she assisted in certain spiritual sessions and healing rituals.

The Oracle was expected to stay with the village from birth till death, and be not only the leader, but the spiritual adviser, healer, and politician. These were the vital reasons why Samung was taught how to read and write, not to mention how to play these instruments - it was important that she was as intelligent as any Oracle should be. Intelligence was proof of spiritual maturity, not to mention of nobleness and wealth. If any foreign guests were to visit Fan’gwei, Samung would represent the town, and a negative impression would taint the reputation of Fan’gwei. This was why her education was most important, and so she was not allowed to play with other children, as she was something else; a prophecy, not a child. Soon enough, her grandmother fell ill. She spoke of strange visions and often mumbled nonsensical things, before dying on a full moon, leaving Sangmu to become the true Oracle of the village at age ten. This prophecy grew into quite a beautiful woman, and though she was still quite young, she was wise beyond her years. Long nights of meditation and praying had formed her into a deeply spiritual being, someone with limitless patience and a very positive outlook on life. She was a cherished Oracle, and someone the village greatly respected. She blessed those who deserved it, and warded off evil spirits from those who were in the need of it. Sangmu gained the trust of all of her people, including one special girl, whom she believed held a lot of spirit. Her name was Pan-Mei.

Pan-Mei held a lot of spirit, because she was strong. She had been undeserving of a life so unkind, but remained strong regardless. Sangmu regarded every villager who seeked her aid as a 'friend', but Pan-Mei was sincere, which made her different. The Oracle awaited their meetings with great excitement, as Pan-Mei was from the Azai village nearby, and often days would pass before they'd see each other again. Sangmu deeply admired Pan-Mei's strength, and helped the girl in any way she could, even making her a charm to ward off evil and help protect her. Such people Sangmu held close to her heart, regardless of the path of their lives or their choices. Even until this day, Sangmu regards Pan-Mei as one of the only true friends she had made during her lifetime.

The village heard stories of the rebellion, and often, the guards sought the advice of Sangmu, pondering if perhaps to assist the rebels in what seemed like a virtuous task. Sangmu responded that a water reed only bends under the influence of wind. Unless Fan'gwei was directly involved, there should be no need to choose sides.

But in the next several years, the tribe collapsed under a siege. Raiders had, for reasons unknown, infiltrated Fan'gwei. The villagers were brutally murdered, heartlessly mutilated, their huts raided and belongings destroyed. Sangmu, as Oracle, was the priority of the village. The hunters and soldiers of the tribe did their best to protect her, and managed to have her flee. In the heart of chaos, Sangmu gathered her prized belongings: the sacred scriptures of Fan'gwei, several instruments and family heirlooms, and not to mention her prized dagger. These were quickly settled into a carriage, Sangmu following, though she bluntly requested that they make sure the villagers get out safe. However, the fate of Fan'gwei was clear - the village was going to be turned into ash and rubble. There was no point in saving those who, quite frankly, were probably not going to make it. Her guards lead her out of the city, leaving the rest of the village - and Pan-Mei - behind.

When they took refuge in the East, Sangmu ordered the men to return to search the village for other survivors. They returned many hours later, only to inform her that they found the village completely burnt to the ground. It was when Sangmu realized that, with nowhere to go, they had to do something noble. The beautiful villages of Fan’gwei and Azai were no more. Sangmu’s home was no more. They were left, stranded in the wilderness of a world that – to them – was so frighteningly advanced and foreign. Samung put a lot of thought into their next move, and took the siege as a sign that they must aid the rebels. And so they did. Sangmu approached the rebels with hope, eager to aid them with her healing abilities and renowned wisdom. Her guards were accepted in as well, but their paths soon separated.

Sangmu was no longer an Oracle. She was a simple rebel, fighting for a noble purpose alongside so many. She no longer deserved the respect of anyone, much less her guards, as they were, in all senses, equal. And so she asked them to leave her, and serve her no longer, which they, eventually, did. Sangmu worked alongside the rebels for the following six years. During those six years, Sangmu received signs she felt showed that she had made the right choice. One of those signs was finally seeing Pan-Mei again. And another one of those signs were the letters she received, either from her former guards, or villagers of Fan'gwei who had made it out alive. They still sought her advice, and she was more than happy to oblige.

                  • Sangmu once had three pet snakes.
                  • She never knew her father. Being born an Oracle's granddaughter, the father and mother held no great purpose. They were only "gene donors", in a sense. Sangmu was granted her fathers' address, and sometimes sent him small gifts during holidays, but she never received a response, nor did she ever meet him face to face. She reckons he also fell prey to the raid.
                  • Sangmu has many tattoos all over her arms, back, and even the back of her neck. Her legs and chest are bare. These tattoos are both spiritual and meaningful.
                  • Sangmu also has many pearcings; several in both ears and a nose piercing.
                  • Alongside a vast choice of foreign clothing, Sangmu often applies very foreign make-up.

Renos is a very skilled swordsman. Though he has dabbled in archery, Magitek, and even heavy axes and maces, the sword has always been his favorite by far. The archduke's son is still relatively young, but he holds much promise, especially when it comes to sword fighting. Apart from this, Renos is quick on his feet, and has flourished his reflexes. All of these are results from active training.

Sarcastic; Renos is quite cynical, and can often get on peoples' nerves with his rather carefree attitude.

Arrogant; The archduke's son is, admittedly, quite pompous. He doesn't believe he is better than everyone else out there, but he does have quite a bit of self-confidence to make him behave like it.

Dreamy; One of Renos' favorite pastimes is daydreaming.

Well-mannered; Though his occasional sarcastic comments can often be mistaken as rude, Renos was raised to be a polite man, and he is usually well-mannered... even when tossing a slightly cynical remark.

Clever; Albeit cynical and laid back, Renos has quite a bit of wit. It's usually not very easy to fool him.

Ambitious; Renos wishes to achieve great things. He does not know what exactly, but he does his best to excell in every sphere he can and mature enough to fill in his fathers' shoes.

                  • Sword fighting
xxxxIt can certainly get his mind off of things, and it's one of the few things he is most certainly best at. Of course, Renos has only rivaled his tutors, and hasn't ever brought up a sword against a true enemy.

                  • Reading
xxxxRenos enjoys a good book, though he often finds it difficult to finish one.

                  • Horseback riding
xxxxRenos very much so enjoys spending time in the outdoors, especially on the back of a good horse. He has his very own stallion Neptune, a pure-breed, grey spotted Andalusian horse. Renos often jokes that Neptune is his only true friend.

                  • Music
xxxxRenos cannot really play any music, but is a fan of listening to it. He is especially fond of the piano and the violin - nothing soothes his ears more.

                  • Girls
xxxxIt is no lie that Renos - usually - has his way with women, and among the younger ladies he is quite the charmer... or tries to be.

xxxxRenos cannot stand hanging around and doing nothing. He's always on the move, aiming to make the best out of his free-time.

                  • Being outwitted
xxxxThere is no fun in feeling like a fool, and being outsmarted in a sphere where, usually, you aim to do very well in.

                  • Overly serious people
xxxxThese usually can't take a good joke, and don't understand sarcasm either. What is the point of being such a bore?

                  • Magic
xxxxRenos shares his father's negative outlook on casters. Though the boy has tried to use Magitek before, he eventually pawned it, realizing he does not like magic at the least. He considers it a sort of "cheat" in battle, as 'ordinary' humans hold no such abilities.

                  • The rebels
xxxxAdmittedly, Renos does see meaning in the rebellion, but he does not like most of the rebels he has seen. He believes they are usually raiders or thieves - the outlaws of society.

▬▬▬▬▬ QUIETripples of the PAST

              ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

              °°°HISTORY
There is little to say about Renos' past, as he lived almost completely isolated between the walls of his home. He was pampered from birth, given pretty much anything and everything he desired. However, he did not (surprisingly) grow all that spoiled. A much larger desire swerved him in the direction of study and work - the desire to make his father proud. Renos was always fond and loyal to his family. He greatly loved his mother, and even his sister... though he often acknowledged her as more of a rival. She was, after all, the second heir.

His father, however, was most important to him, and he wouldn't want to dishonor his family by becoming something that wasn't worthy enough of filling his own fathers' shoes. Renos was also home-schooled, as, being of noble blood, ordinary schools were of no good, and so he studied and put a lot of depth into his work, eventually finding a passion for sword fighting. He pawned any subjects that took away time from his new-found passion.

Often, Renos would head into town. He eventually befriended a group of young boys his own age, but these were up to no good. They were the children of poor families, their parents struggling to make ends meet. Renos, on the other hand, was nobility. But they were the only friends he had ever grown to have, and so he spent time with them.

They stole and thieved, and often even blackmailed. Renos was not fond of this at all. On several occasions, he was forced to side with them, but he found himself realizing that if he stayed with them, he would grow into something his father would simply look down upon. It was not right to be with these lowlifes. No matter how unfortunate their lives were, they took great pleasure in worsening the lives of others to make their own slightly more bearable. Was that right?

These "adventures" with his new-found companions were usually held secret from his parents, though he'd return home in all sorts of shapes and colors. While parading around with his "friends", Renos had certainly gotten into many fights around town. Usually, he managed to deal with such disputes quite well, and would return home practically unscathed.

Eventually, he stopped leaving his grand home. Whatever was out there - it was not for him. Renos had always been a dreamer, a gentleman (on certain occasions), and an overachiever. He only wished to make his family proud, and to be an honorable, successful man. Now he simply hopes that he will be able to do something important for a change, and finally do something to make his old man proud.

              °°°ARMOR
Underarmor - Made of a very light yet amazingly sturdy metal alloy, Audrey wears this over her abdomen under almost anything she wears. It's not impervious to everything, but it serves to keep most of her torso safe from minor attacks.
Light Robes - Usually a tunic of sorts, she wears general long-shirts with leggings and boots. She doesn't really worry so much about fashion, but tries to dress practically on a day to day basis.
Leather Padding - For the instances where she isn't sleuthing, she wears light leather armor as speed is where she is skilled. Heavy armor would slow her down, so she chooses the leather over the metal.
Disguises - Call her a scout or a spy or whatever you'd like, Audrey uses her disguises as a form of armor to protect her identity and avoid confrontation when she can. She is a master at masking herself, so much so that not even people closest to her can recognize her when she is fully disguised.

              °°°WEAPONS
Gabriella - a light-weight sword and her most trusted ally. She has spent years training with this sword and is able to brandish it with ease. She keeps Gabriella shiny and sharp, often tending to it in her down time.
Bladed boots - What sort of scout would she be if she didn't have blades hidden within the soles of her boots? And they go out in all four directions. They are crafted to be thin but of a very strong metal that can hold double+ Audrey's body weight.
Fishing Line - Easy to conceal and extremely versatile, she keeps plenty of this on her persons. Great for stealth kills but also used for creative purposes.
Smoke Bombs - Great for a quick exit or diversion, she still uses these sparingly and as a last resort.

              °°°ABILITIES
Stealth - Silent and quick on her feet, stealth has always been a strong point. With training, she has learned how to move through any setting, urban or forest, without detection. This also implies that she is graceful.
Disguise - Not only is she good at "dressing up" but she is also capable of disguising her voice and body language. She's good with languages and picks up accents easily.
Northern Shaolin - Quick and agile martial arts; acrobatic with wide stances; good for long range attacks. demo1 demo2
Psychology - Audrey is a master at studying human nature and profiling people. She uses this, paired with her disguises, to create caricatures that help her get through her missions. This helps her push exactly the right buttons to get precisely what she needs from others. Human nature is so fascinating.

              °°°PERSONALITY
Passionate - Audrey doesn't just have opinions about things. She truly believes in everything she does, wholeheartedly. She pours herself into whatever it is she's doing. There is so much life flickering in her eyes every moment of every day. She doesn't believe her life is something that should be taken for granted and has a deep appreciation for almost everything. Granted, some might describe her as an idealist living her in dreams, she still tries to fight to make them a reality.
Steadfast - Or stubborn, for lack of a better word. She isn't one to back down from a challenge. In fact, she loves it. Even when no hope is in sight, she'll press forward. She'd rather die knowing she'd given it her all instead of just laying down and accepting anything. She believes she makes her own destiny and that fate is something only the weak believe in.
Adept - Able and/or knowledgeable. Whatever task is at hand, she studies up and prepares for. She's fully capable at handling herself in any type of situation. She is physically, mentally, and emotionally trained for any type of scenario. Should she get captured and tortured, she wouldn't be the one to give up any sort of information. Improv. on the battlefield and using her surroundings to her advantage are skills this would encompass.

When in a good mood, Audrey comes off like any normal girl. She seems optimistic, cheerful, happy go lucky, and willing to help anyone who needs it. Once upon a time, this might have been who she really was supposed to be. She's very fluid and easy to talk to. A skilled listener, she always has good advise to offer others. She can even come off as a mother hen sometimes and is genuinely concerned about the well-being of her "friends" or "family." She has a generally good sense of humor and takes well to teasing. Even when people are rude to her, she has the ability to let negativity roll off her shoulders and has the ability to kill others with kindness. She isn't really a flirty girl, but she does know how to take compliments gracefully. Generally liked, she's just a charming young lady and is very humble and modest.

Audrey on a bad day might be silent or brooding. She isn't the type to yell at someone when she's angry. She might snap at someone or call them out on whatever it was that initially made her mad, but she doesn't like to argue and will generally walk away from the situation until she can calm down and re-approach it rationally. She tends to let her anger out via physical training, whether it be practicing using various weapons or just by using her martial arts in general. She doesn't have a very short fuse, though. It takes a lot to get under her skin since she is such a guarded woman, but she IS still just that: a woman. Emotion sort of comes with the territory and can only go so long before it exposes itself from time to time. Even though she's someone who is very hard to surprise, in the event of, she blinks and remains silent until she can process what's happening, but her reflexes are still very quick. If you DID manage to sneak up on her, don't be surprised if she instinctively takes a swing at you.

She is somewhat of a dreamer in a sense that she has these ideals in her head that she just can't shake. Somewhere along the line, she decided that the world should be a certain way, and that's just how it was. She believes in equality for all people, which also means she believes in revenge. An eye for an eye; if you wrong her, she won't hesitate to make things even, and the same can be said in retrospect. If one would to save her life, she'd do whatever she had to in order to even the score. Fair is fair and she never has debt in her name. She doesn't believe in superstitions, which means she isn't necessarily religious. She doesn't believe that any sort of life has been charted out for her, but that she steers her own ship and whatever it is that happens to her is her own fault and how she handles situations will determine their outcome and where her life goes. She is her own ruler, aside from her superiors in the rebellion, that is. She has a good sense of morality but also is very dutiful.

▬▬▬▬▬ QUIETripples of the PAST

              ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

              °°°HISTORY
It was easy for anyone who knew Audrey's family to see that the girl was an obvious black sheep. Her father was a patriotic soldier, to say the least, and her older brother was sure to follow the example given to him. Her mother was a kind woman who made a living as a merchant. Despite the middle class position of their family, her father's patriotism led them into supporting the aristocracy, something that Audrey just didn't understand. In one had were a few selective individuals living as if they hadn't a care in the world, and in her other hand was the middle and lower classes. One distinct memory stands out from her earlier years: she and her mother were walking through the streets and a homeless woman not too much different from her mother smiled up at Audrey from where she sat in the street. The woman was dirty and gaunt. The look in her eyes seemed so tired, so Audrey reached into her basket and went to give the woman a piece of her bread. Her mother quickly spotted the act and caught the little girl by her wrist, scolding her. "These people don't deserve handouts. Their lives are hard because they refuse to put effort into making them better."

Audrey had looked up at her mother in confusion. She'd always seen her mother as a kind and gentle woman, but that one instance began the mold of how the little girl viewed the world. The homeless woman gave Audrey a sullen smile and waved her on to listen to her mother, but the girl was kept up that night remember the scene over and over. Eating a good meal that night had filled her with guilt. Looking around the dinner table, she observed the full plates of food her family was stuffing down their faces. Surely they could eat half as much as still be sustained... Why couldn't they share their food with a less fortunate family? She didn't buy into her mother's words saying that the poor were in the state they were all because of their own doing. That just didn't make sense when she saw how good the rich were doing. Why couldn't the excess be spread out so that everyone could sleep comfortably at night?

It seemed unjust and Audrey didn't like it. At the age of five, she made up her mind that all people are just people and should be treated equally. Over the next twelve years, her life was nothing but sneaking away when she could and doing projects in the lower-class parts of town to make things better for others. She helped repair houses, helped donate food, cleaned and worked for elderly people for free, and even helped poor mothers with their children. She was completely satisfied with the work she was doing, even though her brother caught her several times and dragged her home. She often fought with her father who didn't approve of her behavior at all. Her mother would coo to her at night, "If only everyone in this world worked just as hard, then we'd all be equal, but some people just expect handouts. I wish you could see that those people are taking advantage of your kindness."

Still, nothing deterred Audrey from her mission to make other people's lives better. The night of the Rebellion, she was seventeen years old. Not exactly a pro at defending herself at the time, she found herself in a compromised position. Chaos was running wild outside when she woke. She tore through her house but her family was no where to be found. Surely her dad and brother were out defending people, but her mother was gone and Audrey was forced to take to the streets alone. There, she was attacked and beaten by a man. Her life was near over when another man stepped in, raising a stone high in the air and striking her attacker over the head. He'd recognized her as the girl who had once helped restore the roof of his home. Her vision blurred and she fainted.

When she woke, she was on the outskirts of town. The man explained that he'd brought her there and his wife tended to her wounds. The couple had a toddler and young baby asleep by the fire which was brewing up something that smelled delicious. They began to question as to where her family was and why she was in the riot alone. When Audrey had no answers, they offered to let her stay with them. She thought about it for the night and the next morning decided to take them up on their offer. Seeing as her ideals were different from her family's and they'd never seen eye to eye, and seeing that the problem which she'd ponder over her entire life was becoming something bigger, she decided to let her family believe that she'd been killed in the riot. She took the new family's name as her own and began training. She wanted to fight for the cause, since it seemed to be all she had anymore, and that she did. Years later, she stands as a scout for the rebel forces. She's remained off the radar all these years, silently keeping tabs on her older brother. One day, maybe, she just might be able to enlighten him, but she knows how stubborn he is, so she bides her time and continues fight for what she believes in.

              °°°MISC.
Definition of Family: Audrey's experience that led her to join the rebellion completely redefined what family was. To her, family has nothing to do with blood, but is entirely who is there for you to the end. She would consider a dog her brother before she ever would a man who left her to die.
Kindred Spirits: Among her fellow soldiers, one stood out more than the rest: Silen quickly garnered Audrey's attention. Both girls, orphaned, sharing similar backgrounds and personalities. It was as if she were staring at a much more ornery, younger version of herself in the mirror. She sees Silen as a sister and would do absolutely anything for the girl, despite the few little differences they have.
Inside a Metaphoric Locket: Her brother is a loyal member of the royal guard and she knows he is alive and well, yet be believes her to be dead, which is exactly how she wants it. In her mind, he left her to get attacked and killed. So much anger brews within her core towards her brother and one day she aims to tear him apart, but this is something no one knows about her. The anger she has towards her older brother is a secret burden she holds within her heart.
Lack of Interest: Due to her attack at age seventeen, romance isn't something that the oh-so-modest soldier has on her mind. Not to say she cannot be wooed, it's just not something she's particularly open to. It might seem like flirting doesn't bother her, but it irks her and creeps her out and she especially doesn't like being touched. It's one of the few things that makes her feel uncomfortable.

              ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

              °°°ARMOR
Quicksilver- Magitek armor – She uses this set of light polished silver armor while handling day to day business about the city. It allows her excellent mobility and speeds up her reflexes. It has the ability to send a shock through an opponent if she can get a hand on them or if they get one on her. It is kept immaculately clean. The set cost more than a pretty penny and came from one of the best magitek creators. It requires the wearer to consume large quantities of food after use.

Devil's Shell- Heavy “Leach” Magitek armor- Her pride and joy. This beastly armor was forged through a collaboration between magitek blacksmiths. It makes common metal brittle when it comes in contact with the armor. If the sword does not shatter on contact it will become stuck in the armor itself till it does decay. Sinse the armor is quite large there have been magical adjustments made to make it easier for the wearer to manuver it. The draw back of the armor is that is slowly decays the person inside it physically, starting with the skin (which is why the armor lacks a helm). Because of this Anberlin only uses it under extreme circumstances and after seeks out her Alterer friend to repair the damage. She has a non-magitek helmet to match the set.

              °°°WEAPONS
White Strike- A standard weapon with no supernatural qualities. It is tailored to Anberlin perfectly. She complains heartily when she has to use any other weapon.

Dragon’s Bane – This fearsome sword has never laid any dragon to rest but it has laid waste to plenty of human lives. As the name suggests it does have a connection to the legendary beasts of the sky. It was forged from the bones of a fallen dragon and forged into a blade upon Anberlin’s request. Her Devil's Shell kept shattering any weapons she tired to handle when wearing it due to the nature of the armor. The blade is not completely resistant to the effect either bit it last infinitely longer than any other weapon she had used with the armor set.

              °°°ABILITIES

Swordsmanship- She is easily the best swordsman amongst the noblewomen of the court. And probably better than most of the men. She is proud of her skill. The only thing sharper than her sword is her tongue which she frequently uses while dueling to rile up her opponent.

Commanding- Her strong presence makes capturing the attention of those she delegates easy. Though the occasional brutal punishment also helps in keeping her underlings in line.

Realist- She has no illusions about the world around her. Being down to earth allows her to make clear decisions when need be.

Diligent- She has spent many a night awake and working on projects for political and industrial nature. When she gets things done she gets things done well.

Fearlessness- She is unafraid to tackle difficult issues, take on new challenges, or speaking her mind. As often as it gets her in trouble it saves her just as often.

              °°°PERSONALITY
Anberlin was not the friendliest person before her husband and her children’s death but since has become inhospitable towards everyone. She is highly critical of those she works with and over. She will not let little things go easily, preferring to loudly berate or criticize the subject. Nothing will stop her once she starts a tirade. As volatile as she is she has a core sense of what is right and wrong. She is unshakable in her resolve when it comes to doing the ‘proper’ thing, even if it is ultimately not in her best interest.

When it comes to running her city she is relentless. A long time insomniac, she uses her excess of time to her advantage to train, work, or organize. While she loathes the people is sworn to protect she does what she must to improve their standards of living while keeping a balance in business. She does exact a certain amount of pleasure from punishing criminals herself. Harsh punishments are one of the few things she approves of.

              °°°LIKES
Punishing- She gets to express her anger physically. What could be better.

Shopping- Unlike most ladies of the court she likes a different type of commodity. Be it animal parts or weapons, she knows someone who sells the top quality.

Late nights- She finds this a calming time when the only thing she had to focus on is work and not hating everyone around her for their incompetence.

Alone time- She expresses her true self while alone. It is always a great relief to let her hair down.

Hunting- One of the few activities that might actually improve her option of someone else. She is willing to accept the help of others on a hunt, and share the glory of success. Needless to say she is only this way with decent hunters. Hardly ever will she agree to hunt with other noblemen.

Taxidermy- She likes animals. When they’re dead and on her wall. She honestly does it out of affection. Bears are her favorite.

              °°°DISLIKES

Noblemen- She finds them all unbearably arrogant. Many she has formed a personal grudge against.

Noblewomen- They are all empty headed fools that allow their lives to go to waste. The rest are insufferable bitches.

Common People- She blames them for the loss of her husband and son. No matter how hard she tried to make their lives better and keep the cash flow going they are never grateful. Killing them criminals is how she copes with these ingrates.

Apostates- One was responsible for killing her son.

Incompetence- The fastest way to get killed around Anberlin is being bad at your job.

              °°°HISTORY
Anberlin’s father was a strange man. He was known to be paranoid and irrationally violent but he kept things in order in the city and was loyal to the crown. He was married to a woman of a slightly lower class and a timid nature. It wasn’t long before she became pregnant with their first child. During the pregnancy Anberlin’s father became more and more suspicious that the child was not his though he had no proof to suggest otherwise. He got to the point where he kept his wife locked away during the final stages of her pregnancy. This is nothing compared to what happened during the night of the delivery.

He managed to whip himself up into frenzy. While in the process of giving birth he broke in the door of the delivery room with his sword. He proceeded to behead his wife in front of her midwives. One of the women was able to convince him to let her finish the delivery, as the child’s head and shoulders were already out. He reluctantly agreed and Anberlin was born. It just so happened the man that whose family would one day produce the queen of Avilion had been stay as a guest in the house while he negotiated for raw materials on the cheap. The ruckus was impossible to miss. He came down to investigate. When he came across the carnage, instead of running or seeking help from the law he offered to help cover things up. In exchange for a few favors.

As it happened the child was not a b*****d at all. Anberlin shared the same unusual eye and hair color as her father. Sobered by this realization he tried to set things right by taking care of his daughter, though he continued to be prone to outbursts of anger and paranoia. Anberlin grew up under the impression that her mother had died in childbirth. She only came to know better when her father was on his death bed. He told her solely because he still owed favors to the family of the noblemen that had helped him and he needed her to continue keeping them quiet.

Anberlin didn’t like this arrangement but she accepted the terms and carried on. She married into the Irobond family when the heir took an interest in her during a hunt with a gaggle of local bluebloods. Between the two of them they kept no secrets and their marriage was a happy one. She gave birth to two children. The first was a boy and the second a girl. As trying a children were she enjoyed watching them grow in young adults.

During the uprising her life was turned on its head. Her husband and son both went off to support the crown and died in battle. Around the same time her daughter ran away and died shortly after. Suddenly alone, the heartbroken Anberlin coped by taking hold of the Irobond’s power and began to run the city in her husbands place. She stopped trying to quiet the queen’s family, indifferent to what the information could do to her reputation. Besides the change in social standing she also became more open with her many hobbies that would not normally be expected of a woman of the court like hunting, swordsmanship, and executing criminals.

Her unorthodox ways have won her few friends but she is undeniably effective.

              ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

              °°°ARMOR
Tyler's armor is a Blackner Custom, and before its upgrade was the first made in Shaysaren by the craftsman. It's made mostly of leather, but parts of it, such as the pauldron and belts, are Magitek. On impact, the armor is designed to harden to be stronger than diamond. The entire thing is Leach Magitek, and when activated, takes a small, slow trickle of Mana from Tyler. When struck, it absorbs a spike of Mana and hardens the area where the blow landed. Stronger attacks obviously absorb more Mana than weaker attacks, this the armor becomes tougher. The armor also reacts to physical magic attacks, and Tyler can mentally ramp up the hardness manually to protected against things like fire. As of his latest inadvertent test, his armor could stop a bullet, so penetrating his defenses would require almost a miracle.
"My armor is both lightweight and durable, which is the perfect combination."

              °°°WEAPONS
Tyler's weapon is also a Blackner Custom, but it has not been upgraded since its creation. It's the size of a b*****d sword and made mostly of hardened steel with a galvorn core to decrease its weight. When the blade cuts a foe, it infects them with extreme anxiety about the wound inflicted. This manifests itself most commonly as a fear of a wound which is much larger than it actually is. For instance, a gash on the arm might lead the victim to believe that they will lose their arm, and become severely mentally debilitated by this realization. The sword is also Leach Magitek but only draws Mana when a cut is made.
"Built just like my armor, but packs much more of a punch."

              °°°ABILITIES
Tyler's strongest skill is obviously his fighting expertise. He has working knowledge of axes, spears, and bows, but he is most adept with his sword. He has trained long and hard to get to where he is, and he shows no signs of quitting. He is relentless, and his time spent as a city guard and as an apostate hunter hardened him enough to be ready for anything, both magical and non-magical. His resilience to Psionic magic is also just about as good as any normal human can get, due in to his stoicism, sheer willpower, and getting used to his own Magitek blade (back when he used to nick himself while practicing, he had to teach himself how to overcome its effects). He is both strong and fast, and has enough technique and endurance to back it up. His weapon and, especially, his armor are both very light, making him a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield.
"I have trained long and hard to get where I am."

              °°°PERSONALITY
Tyler's most defining personality characteristic is his lack of outward emotions. No matter what the situation, his tone and expression remains just cold as it always is. He has kept up his facade for so long that not even his eyes display his true feelings. Inwardly, he still feels a fairly normal range of emotions, from joy to anger to sadness, but he usually doesn't openly express how he feels. However, he will in detail if he's asked, or he will make a general statement about it if he's feeling a strong emotion.

Tyler is completely dedicated to his duties, which suits his personality well. The will of the royal family comes first, and everything else is secondary. Therefore, he follows orders exactly as they are given, no more and no less. He does not detract from them unless he is given new orders, even if the situation would demand otherwise.

When he's not on guard, Tyler is very laid-back and easygoing. He is extremely humble and does not hesitate in helping out with small tasks. When he gets the time, he likes wandering through the city singing softly to himself, and feeding and playing with any stray cats he comes across.

              ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

              °°°HISTORY
T.J. was the middle child born into a family of wealthy nobles. His two sisters are each a year apart from him. Both his mother and his father, however, were well-known politicians and entrepreneurs in Shaysaren. Growing up, T.J. had a rebellious streak. The older he got, the more trouble he got into, but his parents’ political influence kept him out of most trouble.

When he was 16, his parents finally decided to actually punish him. The only way they knew was to send him to a distant relative’s farm just outside the city to do some hard labor. For four days, the uncle whipped the once-rebellious T.J. into shape and taught him the value in a hard day's work, especially since he couldn't get away with anything while he was there.

The morning of his return, T.J. arrived at the city only to find utter destruction. He quickly found out that while he slept peacefully at the farm the night before, the Rebellion rose up and was destroyed. He ran through the city streets, only to stop at the charred remains of his house. He was devastated, but he not nearly as much a when he found out that his family was home at the time. They were pulled out of the house and, while his father was torn apart by the rebels, worse things happened to his mother and sisters. A family friend took him in, but for the next week, T.J. could do nothing but wallow in his despair. He barely ate or slept, and his caretaker was worried he would kill himself, as a few of the other people within the city had done.

At the end of that week, nobody could have expected what actually happened. The young man sealed up all his emotions and asked those who knew him to call him by the more mature name of "Tyler." He dipped into his parent's savings, and sold everything he could salvage, including their land. With everything he had, he went to every well-known Magitek technician in the city, seeking the best armaments he could buy. However, all of them were too busy rebuilding the city to be of any help to him, but there was one last one he found, a craftsman, who happened to know Leach Magitek. He went to the guy, Dane Blackner, and ordered a weapon and armor. In two weeks, the armaments were ready. The b*****d sword was fairly heavy for the man, and light plate slowed him down a bit. However, he joined the city guard (which was both actively recruiting and impressed by his armaments) and trained harder than anyone there.

As he went through the years training hard, he managed to cope with the loss of his family. However, he found that many situations rewarded him for keeping his emotions hidden, and in time, his stoicism became a part of him. He became one of the better guards, and he was asked to help hunt apostates in and around the city. He adapted to these situations extremely well whenever he had to fight, but found that his extreme training and normal teenage growth made his old armor now quite a bit small for him. After pulling his money together, he returned to Dane to see if he could get something larger. However, as a favor to Tyler for inadvertently helping to bring in so many customers when he opened shop, he also gave the armor a bit of an upgrade- it was now made of both leather and light plate, to be a bit lighter than before. Tyler was extremely pleased with the results, since he could move as fast, if not faster than, any apostate who dared fight back.

Tyler's dedication as a city guard and skills as an apostate hunter did not go unnoticed. In time, he was asked personally by Liam Aodhan, Captain of the Royal Guard, to join them. He met with the man, as well as his second-in-command, and was accepted into their ranks after a fairly short talk. However, one last order up before he was officially accepted, and that was to confront an extremely dangerous apostate in the city. He was put in a team of two other guards, and they made their way right to Dane's workshop. The man tried to make an excuse that he would contact the Guild later, but as a dangerous apostate, the only options were to be escorted there now or to die. Tyler hoped the man would not fight back, but knew he would anyway. However, he did not predict the man would blind them with a flash of light to aid in his escape, so the three hunters split up to search for him once they regained their senses. Luckily, Tyler did not come in contact with him, as he received help from a known rebel and fled the city, killing anyone in their way.

The search for the craftsman was quickly called off once the Archduke of Vitascuren heard about it, but by that time, the hunt had long ended for Tyler. He had officially become a Royal Guard, serving where he was needed and with a group of well-respected brethren. He still follows his training, and he is one of the three best guards serving the King, aside from Liam and Alexis.

▬▬▬▬▬ POWER to conquer FATE

              ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

              °°°ARMOR
Liam will normally wear a fur coat and heavy clothing when not in armor to keep warm. For whatever reason, no matter what the season or time of day, Liam is always cold. Otherwise, Liam will normally wear a full set of plate armor with an ornate silver overlay.

Liam recently acquired a new set of Magitek armor that was commissioned for him by the King. The armor is a prototype called “Suverant” or “Sovereign.” The armor runs on Leech Magi-technology, and is supposed to be able to consume Mana from the world around the user more efficiently, though this hasn’t been a hundred percent proven. It also gives Liam greater strength, balance, speed, and general physical capabilities on top of a sleeker and more mobile design. It can take a hit as well as any plate armor, and its exotic looks and make the symbol of the King’s future as well as a useful tool. Liam has never used the armor in a battle before, and rarely spars with it. He chooses to use it more as a symbol, finding himself more wary of the powerful tool than impressed. But the future may call for him to use this powerful weapon sooner than he wishes.

              °°°WEAPONS
Burden is a weapon formerly wielded by the general that Liam was raised by. When the general was wounded, Liam came into possession of the weapon. It was so named because the general believed that war, honor, duty, all these things that made up a "true soldier" internally were a great weight thrust upon them. It was weight put upon them not by kings or lords or country, but by themselves. The knight taught Liam that only when a soldier realizes their burdens can they realize their true potential. Liam always took the lesson to heart and finds the sword symbolic of his own burdens much like the general before him did.

The sword itself is a claymore. It needs to be wielded with two hands normally to be fully effecitve, but the balance is strong and the weight fits Liam comfortably enough he can maneuver well despite the sword's size. The sword's limitations are mostly its own. It is not the fastest weapon in the world and can easily be outmaneuvered by a longsword or other one-handed weapons, but the sword isn't so hefty that a man of Liam's size and strength can't adapt when the situation calls for it.

              °°°ABILITIES
Liam has been surrounded by battle-hardened soldiers, generals, veterans, and Captains for as long as he can remember. He has picked up their experiences and skill-sets as leaders and tacticians over the years making him an impressive force of charisma and strategy when he needs to be. He can inspire troops and adapt to most battle situations. Whether it be leading armies or predicting his enemy’s next swing, Liam can formulate and analyze a situation in the blink of an eye.

Liam is also an excellent swordsman, though admittedly he has very little skill with most other weapons. While he can use a weapon like a large axe or a spear decently, they simply do not feel right in his hands. Put a bow in Liam’s hands and he becomes pathetic as it is a talent he has never been able to grasp. Liam won’t even look at a gun. But when it comes to swinging his claymore, or any other type of larger double-edged sword, Liam is fierce on the battlefield.

Finally, Liam is an intimidating force. Beyond his rank and reputation Liam stands tall at a good 6’1” in a time where a man’s average height is more around 5’10”. Liam uses his stature to his advantage, and even when facing the few men who are taller than him he is able to place himself as their equal through his own will.

▬▬▬▬▬ with OR without a SOUL

              ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

              °°°PERSONALITY
Liam Aodhan is a man who holds his duties above all else. He is not the type to outwardly question orders, and will only do so if he absolutely believes something must be done to change things. This doesn’t mean Liam will not suggest wiser courses of action to achieve the same goals though, and it does not mean that there are no certain orders he will not obey. Liam’s first duty is to the Kingdom, and if he believes what he has been ordered will harm the kingdom, then he will go against them. Otherwise, he will go about them without question, believing or perhaps hoping that his service will ultimately better the kingdom in the end. Yet Liam does not always enjoy his services to the Kingdom. The Captain of the Royal Guard sees no glory or honor in war and bloodshed, only death. He only hopes that the deaths he deals will have served a purpose greater than their individual falls and that he can give those men clean deaths.

Liam does tend to be rather focused on his duties, and how those duties coincide with his personal moral codes; this fact tends to counteract his social life. His focus on his duties makes him appear cold and detached, always seeming to have some kind of purpose in mind regardless of the hour or situation. It almost appears as if his duties are the only things he cares for, but those who have grown close to him know far better. The Royal Guard has seen firsthand where Liam’s cares lay. In the smallest of actions, like placing his hand on a fellow Guard’s shoulder, or shooting them the slightest of smiles, Liam speaks volumes on how he feels about those around him. Once one is able to identify these slight, but well-intended actions, they come to understand the inner workings of the Captain of the Royal Guard’s motivations and allegiances.

Liam’s position has also managed to seep under his skin. Liam loves the guard like the family he would never have. Married to his duties, Liam never found the time to fall in love and have children. This basic need that drives many men throughout their lives is fulfilled despite the lack of a love life by the Guard itself. Liam has found himself protective of those under his command, and extends almost a fatherly affection towards each of the members of the Guard. This love could also extend to King Gallahad, though more brotherly in nature. The King saved his life and took him in. Liam has always been grateful for this.

Sadly, Liam’s love for his “family” happens to also be a major weakness in his character. Once one has earned Liam’s respect and trust, and gift that is only given when Liam receives the same in kind, he cannot bring himself to see the bad in his loved ones. He fails to acknowledge the evils in the hearts of his men and allies, possibly because it is the only family he has had that he remembers. For all the horrors that come with being a soldier, Liam finds this life to be a paradise and it is difficult for him to accept that anything could break it. The cracks spread nonetheless and perhaps Liam’s loyalty and love is more a danger than a strength.

If one is loyal to Liam they can be sure that they can trust him

                  • Fur Cloaks
Liam finds himself always being cold, no matter what time of year it seems, so he tends to wear these often.

                  • The Royal Guard
Liam will never have a traditional family, but that familial need is satisfied by the Royal Guard.

                  • The Warmth of Fire
Liam feels a strange kinship with fire and feels clean under its heat. In a battle, he tends to prefer fighting where the fires are.

                  • Summer
The only time of year that reaches a semi-comfortable temperature for him.

                  • Disloyalty/Treason

                  • The Rain
Rain can be detrimental to battle tactics and Liam sees it more as a sign of death than anything.

                  • Politicking
Too many games are played in the world of politics and Liam has found himself in the middle of them more than once. He finds the game more wasteful than productive.

                  • Lies
Lies get in the way of duty. There is no excuse for lying. Liam refuses to perform the act.

▬▬▬▬▬ QUIETripples of the PAST

              ▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄▄

              °°°HISTORY
Twenty seven years ago, a young boy was found on the coasts outside Shaysaren by the then Prince of Avilion, Diedrich Gallahad. He was naked, delirious, and the young prince thought the boy was on the verge of death. He gathered up the boy and rode ahead of his royal guard back to Shaysaren, where the prince found the boy a healer to treat his wounds. The boy was unconscious for weeks, long enough for the story of the Prince’s gallant deed to spread throughout the city. When the boy awoke, he had no memory of who he was or where he came from. The Prince, who had come to visit the boy whenever possible while he was unconscious, gave the boy a new name and a new home.

That boy was Liam Aodhan, the now Captain of the Royal Guard.

The Gallahad Prince found Liam a home with one of his father’s trusted generals, Alik “One-Eye” Aodhan. One-Eye had no children of his own for his wife was never able to carry a child to its full-term. Having always wanted a son to raise and carry on his family name, the general graciously accepted Liam as if the boy was his own flesh and blood. Liam knew little of the world around him, but quickly grew accustom to his new family. While One-Eye’s wife, who was a Priestess of Solas, taught Liam history and language, One-Eye eventually began to teach Liam how to wield a sword. During his years with the Aodhan family Liam learned of honor, duty, and chivalry and he came to love this new family.

Four years passed and the King had grown ill while an ambitious Darujian Lord gathered his armies to the south. One-Eye was called upon to lead an army south to block the Darujian lord from pushing his forces through into Avilion and One-Eye followed his orders without question. Liam was brought along to learn what he could from the battles to come, and stood by One-Eye’s side throughout the entire campaign. One-Eye’s strategies were mostly successful; the old man was stubborn however, and insisted on joining his men on the battlefield regardless of his age and handicap. On one such battle, One-Eye saw an opening to bring his guard into the battle and did so without hesitation. He lost his sword arm when a Darujian soldier jumped him on his blind-side. One-Eye managed to save himself, but lost his sword arm in the process. He survived the wound, but would never hold a sword again. He and Liam returned to Shaysaren and the weight of the Aodhan name would fall on Liam’s shoulders.

One-Eye continued to instruct Liam who had grown larger than most his own age until Liam was sixteen. Liam then decided it was time to step aside and let the old general live the rest of his life in peace with his wife. Liam said his good-byes, and as a parting gift Liam was granted a fur coat by One-Eye’s wife, and One-Eye himself strapped his claymore, Burden, to Liam’s back.

Liam quickly joined up with the army and was off on assignments throughout the Shaysaren hold. He was mostly off on assignments battling bandits and marauders throughout the Shaysaren and Vitascuren Holds. He was once sent to battle in the south against the same Darujian Lord who his mentor fought against and After four years of serving in the military, Liam found himself, along with his fellow soldiers, involved in an investigation into a coven of Darujian Casters who had infiltrated Shaysaren. The Royal Guard ended up involved in the investigation, and when they found the Casters they stopped them from summoning a powerful demon. Liam’s Captain was killed during the fight, and in the panic Liam quickly took control of his fellow soldiers and continued the assault against the Darujian Casters. Liam caught the eye of the Captain of the Royal Guard’s Second, and was offered a position within the ranks of the Royal Guard. He happily accepted.

By now Diedrich Gallahad was king, and Liam finally met his savior once more after ten years. The King vaguely recognized Liam as the boy he had saved ten years prior, but Liam had never forgotten Diedrich’s face. After a few months of training, Liam was granted the opportunity to be his savior’s loyal protector and the two would grow close rather quickly. Diedrich saw Liam as a window into his earlier life, before the burdens of monarchy had weighed down upon him. Liam saw Diedrich as an ideal and just king, who cared for his people.

For ten years Liam served by Diedrich’s side and he watched as the world changed around him. Diedrich tried desperately to hold onto and preserve his father’s accomplishments in advancing Avilion as a culture, but Diedrich was not his father. His duty weighed heavy on his soul and the stress became greater as the years passed by. Diedrich was pressured by the nobility around him, and though Diedrich was a strong man, he could not carry the weight of the souls of over a million people. Liam saw this each day, but continued to support Diedrich full-heartedly, believing that Diedrich’s heart was true. However, as the nobility weighed down upon him, Diedrich forgot about the power of the lesser man, and a rebellion rose up from underneath his feet.

When the Shaysaren Rebellion hit, Liam was part of the force that was leading the King to the docks and the HMS Dhaiga. Upon reaching the docks, the Captain of the Royal Guard ordered The Guard to cut straight through the blockade and carve a path to the HMS Dhaiga. The Guard knew that most of them would die, but there was no other way. Taking up a narrow, defensive formation with Liam standing right next to the King at the point, they rushed through. The Captain took a blow from an axe and was killed instantly, and the Captain’s second suffered a glancing blow that cut into an artery. The Captain’s second managed to push through to the docks, but collapsed before they could board the Dhaiga. The King and his family came out mostly unscathed, but Liam’s left arm was wounded. Unlike his leaders though, Liam would survive.

As the Dhaiga sailed off, Liam stood next to Diedrich who watched as the city began to slowly grow smaller. He could see the anger in Diedrich’s eyes as they watched the fires rise up throughout the city. It was a rage that Liam had never before seen in the man. Then Diedrich ordered the unthinkable. The King had the escaping vessels fire their cannons on the city of Shaysaren, claiming that he would rather see his city in ruins than in the hands of traitors. Liam watched, dumbstruck as the ships bombarded the city with cannon fire. Liam began to see his savior in a new light that day.

After the fires had faded and the dead had been burned, Liam felt broken, but remained vigilant. He chose to stand by his king, as was his duty, and was given command of the remaining Royal Guard. Diedrich ordered him to rebuild the Royal Guard and as the city of Shaysaren built itself back up, so did Liam build up the Royal Guard once more. He found himself a passionate woman to be his Second in Command, and a plethora of able young men and women to serve as protectors of the King and his Country. Now, the fires of Revolution are beginning to burn once more and Liam will have to raise his sword to slay the people he has sworn to protect once again, for the sake of his king . . . and for the sake of Avilion.

Liam is always cold and he doesn't know why. Some have suggested that he may be a Caster, but some tests quickly proved that he had no excess Mana pool. There are a few rumors circulating that he is a merman, and some who fancy the idea believe this may be why he's always cold. Personally, Liam just considers the oddity a fact of life, and growls at anyone who even mentions the words "Mermaid" or "Merman."
