We have rescued the princess, completed fetch quest after fetch quest, killed our father (who we thought was the bad guy), Phoenix Down'd the entire party, finished first in the race, yelled OBJECTION! at our opposition, found all the heart containers, overcome countless puzzles, caught 'em all, hit the one hundred hour mark, defeated the final boss, and saved the world more times than we can count. We have seen it all, but we were never ready for this...

Welcome to The Avatar Talk Gaming Union!

The Avatar Talk Gaming Union (ATGU for short) was created by some big losers who love video games and want to reach out to see how many other ATers share that same love. Hopefully it will be a lot of fun for everyone and we can bring back some of that sense of community the AT once had.

What we will be offering to you are rates and specialized rates, monthly avatar contests, discussions on gaming in general, and actual gaming tournaments every now and then. We hope to create an environment where anyone, be they hardcore gamer or Avatar Talk fashionista, can jump into the mix and bring something to the table.

How I rate - I'm a tough rater, and understandably, lot of thought usually goes into my critique. I'm big on matching, but I can dig on non-matching creations, too. The most important aspect of an avatar, for me, is theme. I pay a lot of attention to the items you use, the facial expression you've chosen, and the overall shape and balance of the avatar. If you've tacked on an item simply for the sake of matching, and that particular item has absolutely nothing to do with the rest of your items, I'll rip you apart. There is no reason you should be holding a flyswatter if you're dressed up as a samurai. For cripes sake, take off the filler garbage.
My scale - Paragraph rates. I don't do numbers unless you ask for 'em.

So what kind of AT Gaming thread would we be if we didn't host a contest? Yup, you guessed it, every month* we will host a gaming related contest and our lovely panel of raters will be the judges. There are few rules to follow, so try not to ******** them up:
You are allowed to use tektek but the layering needs to be Gaia accurate or Heisei will send you to the back of the bus. If you'd like to enter, just post your entry in the thread. The contest will accept entries until the 20th of this month or until 10 people enter, and at the end of the contest the winner will win a sealed for the month. You may only enter one avatar into this contest and don't try to use mules because that makes you a lamer.

Current contest theme is Faggoty Bishies from Japanese RPGS - You are the hero. You must be saving the universe plz and thx. Think Final Fantasy (Cloud, Squall), Kingdom Hearts (any of the male characters), or Star Ocean.

The raters of ATGU are efficiant at a good number of things (seriously, we're pretty pro), but there are two in particular that we pride ourselves on: Avatars and video games. We'd like to think that those reading this are similar in this regard. Being the hosts of a gaming thread, we'd like to bring something new to the table alongside your everyday avatar contest, and thus, ATGU plans on organizing something that no other thread in the forum has ever attempted: Video game tournaments.

While this section is still under construction, we plan on hosting free, monthly gaming tournaments for anyone and everyone who has access to the internet (and considering you're all reading this, that should be just about the entire Gaia population). Pokemon, Halo, Guitar Hero, Mario Kart, Brawl; there's no limit to the amount of games we'll be able to play, so we invite you all to join in on the fun, throw some blue shells at your opposition, swear your heart out at the television screen, and score a prize along the way!
