[Higan-san]

Some of you may remember when I created this thread for the first time, what, 2 years ago? This will probably be the final incarnation of this request.

I'm asking you, dear, talented Gaian artists, to lend your fabulous art skills to draw my characters. These men and women are very dear to my heart, so please, draw them well.



All characters will be posted on the same post with their love interest/spouse.

[Higan-san]

The Anti-hero

Higan Grant, age 35, born September 21. At this age, he is well into the middle of the average human lifespan in his world. Higan is the child of a human and a strange, elf-like creature most often called by humans a "demon". This is a fairly common occurance in his world. Higan is fairly normal in his appearance, with only burgundy colored eyes and slate-colored hair to set him apart from average people. Higan was actually raised human, with no idea about his mixed hertitage. It wasn't until his wife and son were killed, and his own life almost lost as well for his true race to be revealed. It was simply not important. Higan is now a berserker. When angered or frightened, he lashes out with amazing physical strength, over which he has no control. He will maim, kill, and destroy anything in his path, then "wake up" and not remember doing it at first. This causes him quite a bit of confusion at times, As a result, Higan tries to stay calm at all times, and is a very level-headed person. He speaks very formally, and uses no contractions in his speech ever.

[Higan-san]

The Dictator:

Argent, age 28, born July 7th. Argent was born as Carl in an poor town in the center of the previous king's domain. He and his friends decided that they did not want to pay the 'high' taxes that the king inflicted upon them, so with a band of angry villagers with Carl and his best friend in the lead, they stormed the capital. Unfortunately, someone got a little knife-happy, and the old king and several of his officials ended up dead. So the young man was left with a kingdom to rule, and no clue about how to do it. So after collaborating with his friend, it was decided that he should be king, and Carl would now be know as Argent and would be Minister of War. The people were hard to order and unite, so the only thing that these rulers could think of was to start a war with a minority group (the "demons" ) that could be easily killed off. Which got in everyone in their present situation. So far, there have been 32 attempts on his life. Argent is the man responsible for the death of Higan;s wife and son. He is married to Janette.

The Wife of the Dictator:

Janette, looks around 30ish, born August 30. Once Janette set her heart on Argent; it was all over. She spied on him for three years to find out his taste in women, then made herself look like his ideal. After much plotting, schemeing, blackmailing, and general misbehavior, she succeeded in meeting him for the first time. Janette, of course, took his breath away with her beauty and charm. Before Argent knew quite what was happening, his previous fiancee was replaced by this stunning creature. She got pregnant shortly after their marriage, and used this as a defence to keep her in the house when he found out she wasn't human. She has prevented most of the assassination attempts on him by either killing or capturing the would-be killer.

The Brother:

Victor, looks early twenties, born December 13. Higan's brother, of whom he is quite fond. Victor's mother was killed in a hate crime years ago (oh, my disposable female characters) and since then, he shuns human contact (just human. He likes his own species). He left home for a few years, then returned and found that his father had married a human teenage girl, and they had a child together. This baby is Higan, and from the very beginning, Victor didn't like him. He was jealous, and felt that he had been replaced. But now, he is good to his sibling and takes time to keep his brother out of trouble. He is anorexically thin. Favorite food is human flesh, and afte that, probably elves. He finds them tasty (mostly a cultural thing, most other "demons" like to eat them too). Victor can shapeshift into any animal he wishes, but the animal retains characteristics of Victor's normal appearance. He has also genetically inherited the ability to create and manipulate fire.

The Powerful One

Rachel, age 26, born February 3. The human wife of Victor. Rachel was born into a wealthy family that made its living from killing demons and other undesirable creatures. When she was seven, a demon came from the forest and obliterated the family to avenge his own family's death. Only Rachel and her twin brother Randall survived, and only because Rachel's powers kept them safe. POWAS! These mysterious powers have been with Rachel since age seven. They make things happen. Any sort of thing from a broken dish to knit back together to a person stopping falling. But the catch is that the action must be insignificant in the big scheme of things. i.e. If someone was dying, and their death would start a revolution, then she couldn't heal them. But if Joe Bob cut off his thumb, then she could put it back on. She ran into Victor one day when she was out in the forest. He 'rescued' her from one of his friends that was just trying to start a conversation, and since then she's loved him. He was reluctant to get into a relationship with her, but now Victor is very happy with his life. Rachel was going to marry Argent, but Janette stole him at the last minute. She still has feelings of a sort for him.

The Friends.

Zack, age is between 18 and 21. He isn't sure of when he was born, or the day. Human, and a very good friend of Higan's. Zack was born in the big city. His mother was a hooker, so he's not sure of who his father is; hence his lack of a surname. He made friends with the local gang, and since then, he's been stealing stuff ever since. Once there was a turf war between his and a rival gang, and they tried to cut Zack's throat. Since they were little more than children, they didn't go all the way through with it. He didn't die, but he has a rather nice scar on his neck. He tried to rob a girl once, and she beat the crap out of him. He fell hoplessly in love with her, and now they're to be married. Zack believes he is black.

Rheanna, age 20, born May 5. As the eldest of 11 children, Rhea really wanted a life of her own. She decided that she needed to get married to get out of her home. She went on an errand to the big city where she got robbed by a scruffy dude. She retook her possessions, but saw this as an oppurtunity to get to know some guys, and found her robber again, and they went out for a bite to eat. Zack and Rhea were engaged before she knew quite what was happening, and now she flirts with any man she can. It's not that she's a slut, it's just she missed out on dating and now wants to make up for it.

The Commander in Chief

Nicole, most often called Nick (a joke from her followers, saying that she's man enough to lead them). Mid-twenties, born June 15th. Nick is the leader of the nonhumans who have banded together to fight the humans. She believes that the demons and other undesireables can work together to defeat their enemies, or at least be left in peace. She's missing a leg below the knee, which has been replaced with a rather ornate peg leg. Nick has a firey personality, and is very straightforward with her opinions. She has absolutely no breasts, but others like to draw them, so that's why they're on the references.

The Soldier

Ivan, around thirty, born August 16. Ivan's face is scarred terribly, so he wears a mask to not bother people he meets. A very charming and thoughtful guy. He worked as a soldier and guard in the war, but was attacked by one of the men he was supposed to protect. The insane man chewed/clawed half of Ivan's face off, including his eye on that side. Vision compromised, Ivan was forced to retire to work as a postal worker. He has an uncanny ability to locate the people he's supposed to deliver packages to. Ivan fell in love with Nick when he was delivering her mail. They were married after a year or so. Draw him in fantasyish clothing please. A NOTE ON HIS MASK. IT COVERS THE ENTIRE HALF OF HIS FACE, AND THERE IS NO EYESLIT. IT DOES NOT COVER ANY OF HIS NECK EITHER.His hair is most accurately portrayed by the second picture.

The Doctor.

Eric, looks to be in his mid-fifties, born November 1. Eric is a captain of sorts of a berserker corps in Nick's army. Unlike most berserkers, Eric can turn his ability on and off at will, he is not controlled by it. He has been segregated from the "normal" demons due to his terrifying power. Eric was a field medic, and is the one who amputated Nick's leg. She has never forgiven him, which is why he is condemned to life among the insane. Eric has had a long-lasting crush on Nick (see above) regardless. Eric is a chronic worrier, complete with stomache ulcers. He has a preference to be overly dramatic at times, and is prone to panic attacks. Occassionally threatens suicide, but he doubts whether or not 1. He could have to guts to do it. and 2. How he could actully find a way to effectively kill himself. Eric is semi-happily married to Emma.

The Cheater

Emma, looks to be around 18 years old. Emma is Eric's wife. When he saw he couldn't get the girl he wanted, he went for the next best thing. Emma loves children, and is desperate to get pregnant, However, she cannot. In denial, she blames her lack of children on something being wrong with Eric. She now sleeps around with almost anyone, trying so hard to have a child of her own. Eric is unaware of her liasons with other men. But if he ever did find out, he would be furious. Eric would forgive her fairly quickly though. He loves Emma, and would die for her.
