Day # 2
Theme: Rose

Comments: “It is the time you have wasted for your rose that makes your rose so important.”
I knew I wanted to do the Rose theme as a dedication to "The Little Prince." If you haven't read this book, I HIGHLY recommend doing so. It's a beautiful story.
Don't let others tell you what you want to spend time on is a waste of time. I always loved this line from the book, it's one that can be read by kids or adults and enjoyed on both levels.

Very pretty and... dreamy? Just has a nice dream aspect to it. The little prince was a big book for me as a child.
Thank you. I have been trying to get a more watercolor feel to Clip Studio, but it doesn't really have the watercolor brush engine some of the other art programs have, so still trying to find that look. XD
I LOVED this book. I haven't read it in forever, it was actually a reading assignment in HS about books that could appeal to different levels of comprehension and the different lessons different ages could take away. It was one of my favorite books that was a reading assignment (though Fahrenheit 451 was favorite overall)
You just got Clip Studio yes? Do you like it? Good watercolor brushes are hard to come by. I've noticed some just give you a water color texture instead of reacting like watercolor hits paper.
Oh that's a cool assignment, I read that book when I was a kid and my favorite part was the elephant eaten by the snake. I don't know of anything else but that part XD since I was so taken with it.
I've had Clip Studio for about 2 years? I just recently started playing around more with watercolor looking styles though. And yeah, the program doesn't really have the brush engine of watercolor like Rebelle or Expressi. Corel Painter kind of does a decent job on watercolor, but the program is really laggy on it, and I still like Clip more.
LOL, it was a hat. XD. but yeah, there were so many interesting details in that book, the taming of the fox, the traveling to different worlds? It was beautifully written.
Oh O: you have had it a nice chunk of time then. Watercolor is so hard to digitally mimic, it's a big reason why people just paint it out instead.
Yes, exactly. A child will make it what they want. It's a very good little story.
Yeah, it wasn't even half that time when Clip Studio said they were adding watercolor style brushes... I thought they would mimic watercolor more than they do... and yeah, if you really start tweaking them, some of them CAN kind of look like watercolor... but the program isn't made to mimic the medium like some programs do.
Though, even Rebelle I tried because of the watercolor feature was REALLY laggy for me. I didn't feel the need to keep that one. I still have the trial version of Expresii, though I don't really do much in it but play around a bit. It's more of a minimalist program, with very few layers and it's harder to figure out though. But, as for watercolor painting digitally, it really does seem to mimic sumi-e art and watercolor the most. (I just haven't been able to bring myself to buy it)
