I’m flattered that you decided to stop by my art contest.
This is the thread's lovely mule, and the puppet master behind her is Deirdre Moon.
Pleasure to meet you all.
I do hope you will stay and look at what I have to offer and maybe draw one of my or my
boyfriend’s avatars or original characters.

I’m holding a contest for couple, single, and OC art for my avatar and my boyfriend’s.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXHe is currently in Iraq serving a 1 year tour.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXI miss him dearly and I’m counting the days until he returns to me.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXThe duration of my contest will be from the time he deploys until he gets back.
XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXSo that means this contest is going to run for about 1 year, and will be extended if needed.

Q: May I enter more than once?
A: Of course! You may also enter more than once in the same category.

Q: Can I win a minor category without winning a major category?
A: Yup, as long as your artwork pertains to any of the minor categories.

Q: Can one artwork win more than one category?
A: Yes, and but the artwork will not win more than a maximum of 2 categories.

Q: How much artistic freedom do I have?
A: Deirdre does not mind artistic freedom when it comes to her art.
She likes to say: “As long as it’s tasteful and relevant to the avatars or OCs you can let your
imagination wander.”
Kain is a bit pickier; he likes his characters to be a bit more
built but not overly muscular, tall and athletic basically. Stick to that and you’re golden.

Q: How many categories can you win?
A: Well, let's say you enter ONCE.
That artwork is able to win one of the major categories AND sub category.
Now lets say you entered TWICE, those two artworks would be eligible to win one
major category each and one minor category each.
And it continues for each number of artworks you enter, for three you would be eligible to win
three major categories and three minor and so on.
But, one artwork can only win a maximum of two categories, one major and one minor.

Q: I see an artwork that I believe/know/have proof of it being stolen, what should I do?
A: Please do not draw it to my attention in the thread, please PM me [Deidre Moon] and
let me know that way.

Q: If I do draw art for your contest will I get tipped?
A: I am sorry, no. I need to save my gold and items for the prize pot, so I won’t be
able to hand out tips. D:

Q: Can I have [insert item here] or [insert amount of gold here]?
A: No. As the rules state: this is an art contest, not a charity. Please do not beg for
items or gold.

Other questions that are asked during the contest will be added here for the benefit of
artist and visitors.

Mini Contests!

Well folks, Dei has decided to spice things up around her lovely contest by offering two mini contests. You are not required to enter the contest to participate in these, you are just asked to follow the few rules of each mini contest. <3

Contest #1: Bump Contest
Rules:
* Please number your bumps.
* Please PM Dei when you have finished your Bumps and tell her what page you bumbed your last bump on.

Prizes;
First to bump;
* 100 times = 1000 gold
* 300 times = 3000 gold
* 400 times = 4000 gold

Second to bump;
* 100 = 500 gold

This handsome fellow is Kain and that pretty lady is Deirdre. Now and again they have been
called Brent and MaryBeth. We have been friends for many years and have been dating for that
many more. Though we live at polar opposite ends of the United States [Kain in Mississippi
and Deirdre in Connecticut], we have done our best to keep our relationship alive and have
survived many obstacles. We have been dating long distantly for seven years.
And when Deirdre visited Kain in November, sparks flew. After Deirdre’s short visit to
Mississippi she quickly made plans to bring Kain up to Connecticut. Now, weeks before Kain
deploys Deidre is visiting him for the last time until he returns.

Kain: is a 21 year old Mississippi born and raised army solider. He is in the
National Guard and has left Deidre to serve in Iraq. He loves to role play, anything
historical or technological, and even likes to dabble with the paranormal. He is studying
psychology and nursing at Delta State University. He is the sweetest southern guy you will
ever meet and knows how to treat a woman with the respect and care that she deserves.

Deirdre: is an 19 year old army brat. She was born in Germany on an army base (that
means she’s American!), has lived in five different states and has traveled to countless others
(and even outside the U.S.). She too loves to role play, she loves to read and write, and prides
herself on her Broadway and movie soundtrack collection. She, like Kain, is studying
psychology at Southern Connecticut State University. She is down to earth, random nearly all
the time, and a very outgoing friendly person.

Kain is the best thing to happen to me in a very long time. Since we met nearly six years ago,
he has helped me though the darkest days of my life. He’s my saving grace, the one person I
can go to no matter what time of day or night and just vent about what is bothering me. He is
amazing at making me smile and forget about the bad things and just focus on the good.
Without him I don’t think I would be the happy-go-lucky person I am today. I love how I can be
myself around him. He’s not only my best friend, but my boyfriend and rock that supports me.
Though he really wants to join the Navy, and I still hold true to my Army roots,
I will always stick by him and support him in every way possible.

Deirdre, well…lets see. She’s the love of my life, the woman of my dreams and the best
thing to ever just randomly happen to me. (Yes our meeting was VERY random.) I love
her more than life itself and I would do anything for her. Yes, anything. Although she
and I have had our tough moments, trials, and tribulations I don’t believe anything will
ever come between us. Many of you older people may be thinking to yourselves about
how immature we are for even considering being together forever. You may think that
neither one of us has any idea what we really want. Well, I’ll tell you now. I know what I
want. It isn’t anyone else. We have kept our options open and we have tried new things.
If you still aren’t satisfied then feel free to piss off. Deirdre, I love you with all of my
heart and I promise to stay with you and support you as long as I as I live.
