• Kung Fu

“Wake up Jake. You have to go to your Kung Fu School. Come on, get up, your late!” “Okay, I am up.” “Hurry! You’re going to miss the bus!” “Okay. Bye Mom!” “Bye.”
I sat down and looked around. I saw a man eating a watermelon and a guy reading a comic book with a flashlight. I thought “Man there are a lot of weird people on here.” When I arrived I got off and came into the school. The trainer said “Hey you know its closed today?” “What it can’t be! How am I going to get home?” “Sorry I can’t drive you.” “It’s okay, I’ll walk.” So I left the school and wondered how am I going to get home. So I started to walk home when an old man said “Hey you! You want to learn Kung Fu do ya?” “Well yeah” “I will teach you.” said the old man. “You will?” I mean, you know Kung Fu?” “Yeah, come with me.” said the old man. I followed him to his home. I was happy to be taught to punch and kick properly. Afterwards I asked him “How am I going to get home?” “I will take you in my truck.” said the old man. He drove me home and said “Tomorrow I will pick you up at 1:00 PM okay?” “Okay, see you later, bye.” I woke up, got ready, and there he was. He said “You are almost ready to join the big tournaments.” “You really think so?” “Yup. Well, you want to?” “Sure. Would you take me?” Yes, we can enter now if you want.” “Ok.”
We arrived at the tournament entry place. We signed the form and then left. The tournament started on Tuesday and it was Friday. I woke up the next morning, ate my cereal, and got ready to go with my dad to the bike shop to buy me a bike. I couldn’t find my parents anywhere in the house. It was then that I heard my parents call “We are out here!” So I went outside. “SURPRISE!!” It was a surprise party for me. Next they said “It’s present time!” When I saw the bike I had been wanting I gave my mom and dad a big hug. After the party I seen the old man. He said, “No practicing for today. You have a good day!” I said “Thanks for teaching me.” “No problem.”
The day of the match I woke up and went to the old man and he took me to the tournament. In my first match I fought against an African. I punched, kicked, and tripped him causing him to fall out of the ring. I also won my next two matches which put me in the finals. My final opponent was a guy called Snake who had won the last three tournaments. The match began. I kicked and then he punched me. I kicked him again but he grabbed my leg and threw me out of the ring. I lost the match but felt happy with my progress. My trainer said “Good job. Maybe we can train harder next time though.” “Okay.”
