• The fireworks were so amazing! In the beginning, we were holding long sticks wrapped in colored paper that had rainbow sparks flying at the end. Then one ball shaped firework spun in a circle when it was lit up. The last were ones that shot up in the air and exploded into different sizes and colors. After everything was gone, we went inside the cottage and slept. Except for me and Jen. Our eyes were closed, I was breathing steadily, trying not to giggle as Jen pretended to snore really loud. We were still waiting for Boa and Kert to stop fake sleeping. Its probably already been about two hours when they, finally, got up. I heard Kert whisper to Boa and then, to my surprise, he whispered to Trek, too. The three of them tip toed outside and once the door closed shut, me and Jen sat up and exchanged confused glances.
"why did they-" he began to ask.
"get Trek too?" I finished his question.
He shrugged his shoulders then crawled towards the window, I did the same. We saw the three of them run across the fallen log then up the hill. Once they were out of sight, we left the small cottage and followed them. I had a weird feeling about this once they separated in the village. Kert went right, Trek went left, and Boa went straight forward.
"what do we do now?" I whispered. "who do we follow?"
    "Boa" Jen replied.
    "you sure?"
"they're going to meet each other anyway. Trek will be too tricky to follow because he'll run non-stop, Kert's too cautious and he has good hearing. Boa is the best pick"
What he said made sense so I decided to trust his decision. Boa was pretty easy to follow, just like Jen said, but the pathway he chose was too open. There was practically nowhere to hide behind at all! We had to move real quiet and steady, quickly walking while crouched low. We even had to avoid the moonlight just so we couldn’t be seen!
"this is bogus" Jen mutters to himself.
Boa went inside a house, his house, and we're waiting for him to come out.
"what’s taking him so long? its been like...thirty minutes!"
"shhhh" I whispered. He groaned and did what he was told. Right at that moment, the front door squeaked open and Boa came out holding a rope. He looked left, then right, and ran forward. Me and Jen continued our pursuit.
"why a rope?" Jen whispered as quietly as he could.
I didn’t say anything, I didn’t know either. They did split up to gather things, but what for? I didn’t think this far ahead. Jen held me still and covered my mouth with his hands as I almost bumped into Boa who was just mere inches away. He stopped running and was looking around, trying to find someone, I think. I held my breath as long as I could, trying not to make a peep. Finally, before I ruined everything, Boa walked out and squatted right next to a house, joining Kert and Trek. We backed away and hid in an ally.
    "that’s.." I gulped.
    "Rogers house"
