ATTENTION: I have obtained Bamf The German Shepherd as of 1:14 in the morning on August 27, 2013!!!! My goal is complete!!!!! HE IS NOT FOR SALE OR TRADE, DO NOT ASK. I am not saying any of my friends on here have done this to me, but as far as another user was concerned, I have HAD this happen.
EDIT: Please go check out my mule account "Unbridled Courage" and help out my character Malcolm. Thanks! (If you're going by looks, he's the long-haired gent with the horses.)
Konnichiwa! I'm Yoshiko Takahara, but my close friends call me Yoshi! That's my favorite thing to go by, but other names include: Elissa (birth name), Elissa-chan, Ellie or Ellie-chan, and Kiku (my "bravery name," used to help me remember the resilience of Japan; it's Japan's other name on Hetalia). My interests in a nutshell are... here we go... Robert Carlyle, World War II, voice acting, anime and manga, Japan, the Japanese language, roleplaying, cosplaying, anime conventions, reading, writing, shopping, hanging with friends, zoning out on the internet, job-hunting, maintaining my education, and of course eating and sleeping. I guess you could say I'm just a good-natured, happy-go-lucky woman.
Favorites in the usual categories! Begin!
Current favorite book is THE FAULT IN OUR STARS, by John Green. Others I love very much but are not in the topmost spot like TFIOS, are: The Dogs of Babel by Carolyn Parkhurst, Angelology by Danielle Trussoni, A Curse Dark As Gold by Elizabeth C Bunce, and that one popular one, The Help, which I'm reading as a favor to an old (and terminally ill) friend, who passed away in February 2014. An ancient childhood favorite is Molly's Fire by Janet Lee Carey, and I love Illusions by Richard Bach. I'm also working through a David Bowie biography, and The Pale King by David Foster Wallace.
I am extremely interested in World War II, Hitler, the Third Reich, and Nazi Germany from historical perspectives, and I own pretty much all but one of the most popular books on the subjects.
Favorite anime is a tie between Axis Powers Hetalia and Ouran High School Host Club, followed by Fruits Basket, Yuyu Hakusho, Clannad/After Story, Black Butler/Kuroshitsuji, Cardcaptor Sakura, Sailor Moon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Lucky Star, Slayers, Vampire Knight, Last Exile, His And Her Circumstances... the list goes on and on because I am a hell of an anime otaku. PM or comment if you have suggestions or recommendations!
Favorite movie is California Solo, starring Robert Carlyle--my favorite actor, tied with Michael Des Barres, who is his co-star in California Solo. Previously, my favorite movie had been Marilyn Hotchkiss' Ballroom Dancing And Charm School, which I only got a few months before California Solo and which ALSO stars Robert Carlyle!!!
Favorite musical artist is tied between David Bowie or Michael Des Barres for solo artist, or Mumford and Sons for a band. Favorite song is Lovers' Eyes by Mumford and Sons; it had previously been Viva La Vida by Coldplay.
I used to watch Once Upon A Time, and I loved it, but now I flat out HATE it. I don't even want to TALK about it. Now I'm OBSESSED WITH Terriers and am also really into Stargate Universe and back into Heroes.
I'll think of more later, but right now I kind of have something I'd like to get out...
PLEASE DO NOT JUDGE. I am a female who has struggled with my sexuality for a few years now, due to lack of support from people who should be open-minded and fine with it, and identify as bisexual. I PRACTICE POLYAMORY and have been in a polyamorous relationship in the past, meaning I had more than one partner. My relationship with my now-ex-boyfriend lasted from September 26, 2011 to November 1, 2012... I met my girlfriend in January of 2012, only to become official the following February 18 and we are still dating. I couldn't be happier with how that aspect of my life is going. I love my girlfriend VERY much. If you have a problem with it, that is your deal, but I WILL NOT be attacked. Also, I hope no one will delete me from their friend lists over this. Now that I've gotten that out of the way, on to the less "serious" stuff.
One of my biggest ambitions is to be a voice actress someday, and work alongside certain (many) voice actors... It's a dream I've had since I was little, and I'm confident I can make it into the field within the next few years if I really work hard at getting my foot in the door. Wish me luck! I've been inspired all my life by people who are already in the field of work. My heroes in voice acting are as follows, in order from most to least-most: Vic Mignogna, Darren Dunstan, Lisa Ortiz, Eric Stuart, Eric Vale and John Burgmeier tied, Mona Marshall, J. Michael Tatum, Patrick Seitz, Chris Bevins, Todd Haberkorn, Laura Bailey, Monica Rial, Brina Palencia, and Chuck Huber-- *dodges Chuck Huber fangirls throwing things* --so far! That's just off the top of my head...!!
Currently, I'm studying to become a Medical Transcriptionist, because that will actually pay me decent money and I don't have to leave the state to do that line of work. Please look that up if you don't know what it is; I don't necessarily have the time to sit and explain it over and over.
I am also a member of the Risembool Rangers, which, for those of you who don't know, is the official fanclub for voice actor extraordinairre Vic Mignogna. They have a page on facebook, as well as an official website, so please check it out and join up if you're interested. ^_^
Well, if there's anything else you'd like to know, please PM me! Enjoy your visit to my page, guided by the Host Club from Ouran! And give Tamaki love especially, he's the older blonde kind of in the center.
