I've just heard people argue both sides with extreme passion and, sometimes, extreme stupidity. You say you can relate to the books? How's that? Also, yes, I admire Meyer for her originality with the vampire concept, but I can also respect the opinions of those who argue that she mutilated the classic vampire concept. As for me... I hate romance novels, and this one is no exception. It's WAY too sappy, dramatic, and drawn out. Also, way too many loose ends and unexplored potential in other characters and situations. It's a very amateur work, but popular because it's so much like a teenage soap opera.

If I ask on Chatterbox or the book discussion threads, I'm bound to be swamped with haters and rabid fangirls. So I just wanted to see if I might beg an honest and thoughtful answer. Why are they your favorite books?
