"You went THAT far, just to get these for me?
All I did was blink, after you vanished and then you were suddenly back again.
I knew Sesshomaru had always made Inuyasha look incredibly slow in their battles, but you must even faster than he is!
It's incredible really..."
She finished off her meal and then stood up.
"If this castle has a library, would you mind showing me how to get there?
I need to look information on that mist from earlier..."
A soft chuckle left him just then.
"Kagome, I can hear you...."
With this said, he focused back on Mrs. Higurashi.
"I wanted to say, 'Thank you.'.
I may not have known you for very long.
However, already you've treated me far better than my own mother had.
Until now, I honestly had no idea what it felt like to have a caring mother.
That's why I went out and purchased something for you that I hope you will like...."
Reaching into his bag, he pulled out a long white leather box, clearly meant for jewelry and handed it to her.
"Go ahead and open it...."

Using his sense of smell, Sesshomaru guided Kagome to the kitchen.
Finding the miko's mother setting out dishes, he called softly to her,
"Excuse me, but may I speak with you a moment?"
His sudden vanishing and reappearing ability stunned Sango momentarily because this was something she hadn't been familiar with, as far as dog demons were concerned.
However, seeing him make fresh orange juice for her caused her to smile gently.
"That looks wonderful.
Taking a drink, the young slayer found the taste to be quite refreshing.
Were they from a shipment brought into the castle's kitchen?"
"True that it won't be as romantic, but I can make up for that in our era, by using my tail for a bed and hold you close.
For now, I just want to play things safe, since I've already managed to establish a better relationship with your family than my own...", Sesshomaru said, before allowing his power to surface.
When this happened, his eyes glowed red and a soft wind kicked up in comparison to the usual whirlwind, when he shifts to his giant canine form.
Once then light receded, he was the size of a German Shepard and hopped up onto her bed.
It was a little difficult to walk on the soft material, but he still made it to her side and laid down beside her, giving her neck a soft lick.
Moving behind the natural rock formation, Sango shed the rest of her clothing and slid into the hot springs slowly.
Sesshomaru looked ready to collapse from sleep deprivation the next morning.
He didn't get much of a break then either because he tried to sleep, while on Ah-Uhn, only to be woken up by demons that came to taunt him over looking after Inuyasha.
That put him in a foul mood because he had been sleeping so well and had been worried about Inuyasha the night before, which was why he killed them in a surprisingly violent way, compared to what we were used to.
We reached Totosai's not to long after and he him on the head with his hammer, which set Inuyasha off on Totosai for doing that to him.
I was afraid he wasn't going to get ANY rest at that rate.
Also, you are absolutely right about Myouga.
He hasn't changed at all and I don't think he knows about ANY of the new developments we've had lately...."
"I had planned to remain in your room, even if it mean sleeping in your desk chair.
Although, there may be ONE method to cheat.
You're finally feeling comfortable enough to share a bed with me, but I don't want to alarm your family, if they should see us.
That's is why I want to know if you would approve of me sleeping beside you as dog.
I can easily shift my size, so I don't destroy the house, but it should be less suspicious that way."
"Yes, Totosai's still around and so is Myouga.
We've made stops to see him before and we even stopped by with Sesshomaru in our group.
We needed to drop by because Sesshomaru accidentally cracked his sheath and I have a feeling it happened from gripping it too hard, when he was looking after Inuyasha, while he had that fever."
She then playfully slapped his shoulder.
"You are NOT old.
Besides, mine are pretty bad.", Sango admitted, as she finished his hair and bangs.
Reaching down, she slipped off her traveling sandals and turned away from him.
"This is the one I got from my brother, though for some reason the arrow marks never scarred....", She said, as slipped the upper half of her kimono and under robe down, along with pulling her hair over her shoulder to show the large scar on her back between her shoulder blades.
He then looked to Sesshomaru and smiled up at him.
"Thank you, Sesshomaru.
If it were Inuyasha, he probably would have gotten irritated at me, even though normally he likes being around me."
With this said, he turned the television back on in time for the last commercial to end and the screen burst to live with where the movie left off.
A gentle smile came to Sango's face, as she listened to him explain his thoughts, based on observation.
It really did make her feel better that someone other than Kagome understood her to such a level.
In fact, in astonished her that he had so much down in so little time....a feat that not even Miroku could pull off.
"You're right though...
I am like one of the guys because I was the only female slayer in my family, as well as my village and I've been battling, every since I was a little girl.
Before everyone was killed, I was the best in my team and I still am.
Still, Kohaku had been new to battle and it was when he went to Kagawaki's Castle with us in his first mission that everyone was slaughter, as well as in my village at the same time.
I crawled right out of the grave the castle guards dug for me, having no idea that Naraku was posing as the real Lord Kagawaki at the time or even that he was controlling my little brother with a jewel shard.
What caused him to initially be possessed had been a spider thread controlled by a spider head pretending to be Lord Kagawaki's father, who hired us to deal with a demon that was causing his son to be sick.
Every last bit of it was Naraku's scheme, even down to giving me a shard of the jewel to keep my strength going, so I could try and kill Inuyasha, while I was severely injured, because he told me he was the one that attacked my village...."
She then continued on, hearing the rest of what he had to say.
"I suppose I got the sarcasm from my exposure to Inuyasha and it was meant as a joke, though I'm sure you already know that.
I'm glad that I'm interesting enough company for you.
To be honest, I like your company as well."
A laugh then left her, as she finally freed the knot from InuTaisho's hair tie and began to brush out the tangles in his long silver hair, working from the bottom up.
"No, you are far from old to me.
Totosai has rights to that title.
You're a seasoned warrior and so handsome it should be illegal.
Besides I'm glad to see that these scars look to have healed so well because I'd honestly feel bad if they looked anything like mine...."
"Awe, come one sis.
I was almost finished with that movie.
It's on the commercials right now, but when they get back to it, there's only ten more minutes left of it.
I can't go to bed without seeing how it ends..."
"What do you think, Kagome?
It's like when we saw that movie at the theater, only this one is being shown at home.
He's already gone through over half of it.
Would it be alright to compromise and have him finish it and then go straight to bed?", Sesshomaru asked, given how there wasn't much time left in the movie he had been so engrossed in earlier.
Sango thought for a moment, before answering,
"You should remove the rest of the armor as well.
I don't want to damage the ends of your hair by having them getting caught in the clasps, when you stand up.
Besides, how exactly would you describe how I think?
You have me curious....", She asked with interest.
He walked down the stairs, hand in hand with her.
Rather than having to call out for him, Sesshomaru spotted Kagome's kid brother on the couch watching the television.
Moving in his direction, he laid a hand on the young boy's should to get his attention.
"It would be best it you removed all of your armor.
After all, you ARE about to have a bath and I don't think you'll be going in with it on.", Sango said as a joke, before she continued to speak.
"Besides, I don't want to possibly tear my sleeves on your spikes, trying to reach your hair tie..."
"Honestly, I don't agree....
It's a HORRIBLE feeling to have to be on guard around your own brother.
I wouldn't wish that on anyone...."
With this said, she guided him to the indoor hot spring.
Soon her chocolate brown eyes located a belonging of hers.
"So THAT'S where I left my comb...."
Picking it up, Sango removed the white hair band from the bottom of her hair, before running it through the dark strands.
When she was finished, she looked up at InuTaisho and asked, her face becoming a soft red,
"Would you like me to brush your hair?
I've come to find that if you brush, before you wash it, it's easier to get the soap out and have a more thorough cleaning, when you bathe."
"I'm not about to hit your brother, when he's done nothing to aggravate me, unlike Inuyasha.
After all, I could accidentally hurt him in doing so...
As for your last question, it was us dealing with him together.
I do not know if there's anywhere he needs to be tomorrow or not."
"I see your point.
However, falling back on getting Sesshomaru riled up is a terrible idea.
Those two used to always try and kill each other.
That's why Kagome was greatly relieved, when they stopped and in all honesty, we were all shocked to here he took care of him on his human night because he had a fever so terrible that it could have killed him.
It was caused by these little insects called Burning Ticks that raise the temperature of a canine demon one degree, per bite."
Hearing his inquiry about hot springs, she smiled with a soft blush.
"Yes, actually, I do.
There's an indoor one in the castle and it has a natural divide in it.
Would you mind if I bathed at the same time?
Miroku would always try and watch, when Kagome and I bathe together.
I'll be on the other side of the rock wall...", She explained, as he face went red because she felt the need to explain.
"As relieved as I am to hear you say that, I'm not sure it's a good idea to share a bed with you here.
I do recall your grandpa throwing sutras all over me, along with purification salt, just for being a demon.
I can only imagine how he'll reaction to see us sleeping in each other's arms, much less your mother and little brother...
Speaking of which, what should we do about Souta remaining awake at this hour?"
Sango smiled warmly at him, glad to know that it made him feel better.
She then nodded and as she followed him, she added her own two cents,
Inuyasha isn't exactly what I'd call a peace keeper because of his temper and inability to keep himself from trying to start a fight with people.
He's already been making Sesshomaru feel bad earlier and even though you were honest with him, I think he felt pushed away even more.
Reason being, he had been getting along with Inuyasha, before he went and opened his mouth to him about Kagome and he may have been hoping you would have been a little more comforting.
It was obvious to me that he was trying to start a fight, since I've seen him goad Sesshomaru countless times in the past, before they had started getting along and restored his left arm...."
"You're right though.
I didn't understand it..."
With this said, Sesshomaru quickly shook his head.
"Nevermind, you're right...
We SHOULD forget about the matter.
Anyway, I'm not sure why Souta's up either.
He's actually STILL up, if you're wondering.
After all his scent is moving around downstairs..."
