Hikari smiled softly at the sight, glad he was able to do something for him.
However, he soon turned away and slowly walked towards a path obscured by the bushes.
He came to a stop beside an old fallen tree and sat upon it to have some time to himself.
Sango, though, had felt happy at seeing Sesshomaru finally be able to actually embrace his son.
She knew full well how much it tormented him to have to slay him himself because of his seemingly deranged state.
Now, things could be different and would no longer have that painful hole in heart.
However, her attention drifted from the happy sight, when she sensed Hikari leaving the group.
"Huh?"
Turning, the demon slayer began to follow after him and see what was troubling him.
Little did she realize that InuTaisho had taken notice of her own departure as well...
"It was rather sudden, indeed.", Sesshomaru agreed, before he continued.
"She brought me to her era, since she's technically from the future.
I had not only didn't expect her to insist on helping me, but I could have never expected to enter her time as well.
It's vastly different from our time and a lot more complicated at that.
Luckily, I know how to adapt or that could have gone much worse.
It was easy to deal with her family because her mother is kind, her little brother asks a lot of questions like Rin, and of course her grandfather is more like the priests here.
The only difference being, his purification salt does absolutely nothing and neither do his sutras.
Even though her era is rather strange, there are things I found rather interesting.
The resturant we went to actually looked more elaborate than some of the more finer ones here and it wasn't even one of the expensive ones, as she put it.
There's also the mall to consider because it's a place you can eat, shop, and even see a movie, which is basically like watching servant putting on a play, but you can't halt the progression of the performance.
They sell a great deal of items there and one in particular that I'm fond of is the keyboard that I have strapped to Ah-Uhn's saddle.
It plays music and has the capability of sounding like many different instruments."
During his explanation, Hikari wandered over to the bloodstained ground a few feet from where they were all resting.
He raised both hands up, palms to the ground and began to chant quietly, his body glowing a soft red.
"Door to darkness, I summon thee...
Arise from this bloodied hill...
And appear before me...
Carry out now, your master's will..."
Shippo watched Hikari curiously and asked,
"Hey, Inuyasha?
What is Hikari doing?"
Just then the ground shook and a pair of massive ornate doors emerged from the ground.
When Hikari reached out and held his palm out towards the doors, they began to open slowly, as his silver hair danced around him.
Slowly and silently, the demon entered the darkness beyond the doors and they closed behind him.
A few moments later, they vanished like mist.
Upon their disappearance, Jaken looked around from where he stood.
He saw no trace of Hikari, much less smelled even a hint of his scent any longer.
Needless to say, this left him rather baffled.
"Where'd he go?"
Just as those words left him, a pillar of flame shot up behind the poor imp.
Effectively being scared half to death, Jaken bolt to hide behind InuTaisho.
When he peeked out from behind his split tail, he was just in time to see Hikari float out of the center of the flames and softly land on his feet.
The flames then vanished just as suddenly as they had appeared, leaving nothing at all burned.
Despite the departure and his entrance, Sesshomaru's eyes were glued to the wrapped individual he had hovering over his arms.
He watched closely, as Hikari softly set him on his feet and rose to his own.
However, his eyes instantly widened, when Hikari waved his hand over the person's face, causing the wrappings to fade away and reveal he actually revived his son for him.
Now that he was no longer being controlled by Naraku, the young demon seemed to be a bit younger than Inuyasha.
His amber eyes blinked dazed at first, but the moment they landed on Sesshomaru, they instantly filled with tears.
A mere second later he raced towards Sesshomaru, clung onto him, and began crying.
"I'm so sorry, dad!
I didn't want to try and kill you!
All I wanted was to meet you and stay with you from now on...
That Naraku person ruined everything though and I had to watch everything I did with no control over what was happening."
Sesshomaru held him tightly, as he allowed himself to sink to his knees.
He started to slowly rock side to side, as he held his son.
"It's over now....", He said gently, as he curled his tail around him.
Hikari smiled softly at the sight, glad he was able

"I wouldn't necessarily say I learned from it's destruction.
It was my fault it fell to ruin like this because I deliberately gave no aid to it.
For the longest time, I couldn't have cared less about that place for the simple reason that it reminded me too much about your relationship with Izayoi.
Now, things are different, being as how I'm not bitter about it anymore.
You've been caught upon everything save for three details.
One of them revolves around Inuyasha having a mate and I'll just leave that as a surprise as to who it is.
After all, it'll be good to have you looking forward to something.
The second, however, I can't go into detail over.
It hurts to even think about it.
I had to do something extremely difficult, before we figured out that we needed to come to Kanashima City.
It's caused me to be unable to sleep properly since then....
The third bit of information that will catch you up to date, I'm sure you wouldn't see coming.
Believe me, I would never have imagined it myself either.
Kagome found me bleeding to death, after I killed off Ryuukotsusei.
At the time, I collapsed under the Tree of Ages to rest and ironically, she had stormed away from Inuyasha to return home because of a fight.
She decided to take care of me and interestingly, she somehow got me to calm down.....
I can most certainly say there hasn't been a dull moment for me since then and even into joining this group.
Though I must admit, being turned into a human by a spiteful sorceress is NOT a pleasant thing...."
He then snuck a glance at Kagome, a faint blush dusting his pale cheeks.
Hikari had been intently listening and cracked a smile.
However, he eyed the ground further ahead of them and noticed a large blood stain on the ground.
It seemed like the others hadn't noticed yet, but it did pull at his heart.
His words caused Sesshomaru to sigh, before he proceeded to explain.
"I have already stated that Kagome is a miko.
You may say you won't take over, but in my honest opinion, you'd do better.
I wasn't ready then to take over and I'm the reason Kanashima City is a desolate place now.
It no longer looks beautiful, like it once had."
Hikari smiled up at InuTaisho, happy to hear he'd finally get new clothes.
Just then something clicked in his mind and he softly tugged his hand.
Once he had his attention, he snagged a book from Ah-Uhn's saddle bag.
Turning back to the dog general, Hikari then handed him his journal.
Seeing what he did, Sesshomaru felt compelled to explain.
"I hadn't read anything from it.
Even so, I'm glad that I had at least saved that much from the castle, before a fair chunk of it burned to the ground a while ago.
There's been a great deal of progress, so I'm certain by the time we return there, it'll be fully restored and everything that had been lost will be replaced.
Luckily, a fair amount of the building remained standing, though scorched in areas."
The taiyoukai soon joined him and gave him his two cents about what he just said.
"You're more insightful, than you're giving yourself credit for.
They had in fact once had that relationship, but Kagome became fed up with him over his two timing between her and Kikyo.
At any rate, you're not old, father.....
Totosai is the one who is old."
Hikari looked up to InuTaisho at his suggestion and said,
"That's fine by me.
Besides, I could really use some new clothing.
All I have is this pair of hakamas and they look almost as bad as rags."
With this said, Hikari began to shiver, now that he was exposed to the fresh air for the first time.
"Of course I loved Koiyuki's mother...
She wasn't anything like those petty, simpering, females that kept being forced onto me at parties.
I wouldn't have even been alive to meet Inuyasha, much less his friends, if it wasn't for her."
He then sighed deeply and continued,
Rather that treat me like an object to possess for its appearance and value, she treated me like a person.
Strange though how took a near successful sucide attempt, while I was far from home, just to meet someone like her....
That was the first time I ever felt wanted by anyone, must less needed, aside from being just an heir."
His arms then crossed, before he continue, as if to distract himself from the memory.
"Yes, Kagome is indeed a priestess.
She's the reincarnation of a famous priestess known as Kikyo, so the resemblance is strong in appearance and power.
I can say with certainty that she has potential.
The downside is she never had formal training, so I've had to teach her a few techniques such as the 'Rapid Fire' our archers use, which she in fact made progress with.
As for Sango, don't worry about her.
She's an excellent demon slayer with remarkable talent, but that doesn't mean she hates all demons.
I've seen her fuss over Kirara before and keep an eye on Inuyasha in case he's wearing himself out in a battle, so she can cover for him a while."
He paused for a bit to watch his daughter and took a deep breath.
However, instead of helping he seemed to only pale.
Focusing back on InuTaisho, he then said quietly,
"Let's face it...
I have no good memories growing up.
Most of it that I CAN remember revolves around you doing paperwork, being away for meetings and battles.
I do remember Kagome accidentally tipping off a buried memory from when I was little and it involved mother throwing me into the wall.
If I so much as attempt to remember anything about my childhood I have strange pains in certain areas, depending on what I'm trying to remember.
Still, I do recall her telling me that I have to do everything she says or you won't think I'm good enough to care about....
To be honest, I don't feel loved by you and it only became worse, when I found out about Inuyasha because I was convinced I failed and the only reason from my existence at that point was to be an heir.
I haven't truly thought about if you care more for him or not still, for some time now.
I've had too much too deal with to be concerned with it.
Just be glad that hadn't had to do what I had done, before we located you and Hikari..........."
Swallowing a moment to will some color back to his face, Sesshomaru then added one last bit of information that seemed like an afterthought.
"Don't be concerned with Ryuunkotsusi.
Even though Naraku is more than capable of breaking the seal and watching him attempt to slaughter everyone from a safe distance, he's already dead.
I deliberately woke him and finished him off myself.........
The reasons may have been selfish, at the time, but he's no longer a concern."
Koiyuki smiled back at him cutely and nodded happily.
She then gave an adorable wave and said, before she toddled off,
"Bye bye, andpa."
Sesshomaru watched her go for a while, before he absently answered his first question.
"I hadn't had time to be prepared to answer these kinds of questions.
Besides, why would you care how I feel?"
When he saw Koiyuki climb into Inuyasha's lap and hug him, his attention then drifted to InuTaisho, as he proceeded to answer his remaining questions.
"As for when I allowed Rin to travel with me, that had occurred some time ago, after Inuyasha nearly succeeded in killing me with the Wind Scar.
Even though I attempted to frighten her away, so I could heal, she didn't run away and actually insisted on trying to help me.
It's simple to have time, when you sneak out...
Though I'm sure you'd understand that perfectly, since you did the same thing.
It doesn't matter where her mother is because we won't be seeing her.
She died of a complication, while having her....."
When he was speaking about Koiyuki's mother, the subject seemed rather touchy for him.
His bangs had shadowed his eyes and it gave the impression that he missed her.
"I think more appropriately, I had just gotten used to them.
Strange how one single minded decision to wake up Ryuukotsusei and slay him to spite Inuyasha had actually landed me the ability to be standing here talking to you along with getting Koiyuki and my left arm back.
Don't be concerned with the Panter Demon Tribe.
They revived their leader and though Inuyasha and I fought against each other, it seemed to work in our favor by providing us the necessary chance to kill him.
The Panther Tribe decided to return home, after that.
The biggest threat we currently have is Naraku.
He's a shape-shifting half-demon that has been collecting jewel fragments of the Shikon Jewel that had been created during a battle between Midoriko and a group of demons.
What makes him such a pain is how he sends incarnations of himself to do his dirty work, runs away from us so frequently, his barriers keep getting stronger, and he's very manipulative.
I began hunting him down after he gave me a human arm with a jewel fragment inside because after Inuyasha tore the hand off, the arm tried to burn me alive, after I left."
Little Koiyuki gave a happy little squeal of delight, when she was picked up.
Her tiny arms wrapped around his armor the best they could.
When he set her down and held her hand instead, she softly gripped his considerably larger hand.
While Miroku had been giving the introductions out with a cool head about the matter, Sango looked up at her name being said.
She then waved at the dog general with a kind smile.
It was rather simple for her, giving how she had worked alongside Kirara for so long.
The fact that she was accustomed to traveling with Inuyasha and now Sesshomaru had given her comfort level further expansion.
However, Sesshomaru didn't seem so relaxed as the others.
He hadn't had time to prepare for any form of explanation that he knew he would be required to give to his father.
Though he wasn't aware of it, his face had paled, upon him calling his name.
Silently, he followed after InuTaisho to find out what it was he wanted to talk about.
Miroku took it upon himself to get the introductions out of the way, since that had yet to accomplish that much.
He calmly walked to the dog general with his staff jingling softly, as he stepped.
"Hello...
I believe we should do the introductions, before we go any farther.
This way you'll at the very least know who you're traveling with."
His voice was calm and friendly to the powerful taiyoukai before him.
He began to motion around himself, as he gave him the names of the individuals in their group.
"The little green imp in Jaken and he's Lord Sesshomaru's retainer.
Rin, the young human child is his adopted daughter and as we found out Jaken's habit of yelling at her is a great way to get himself in trouble with him.
Sango is the highly talented demon slayer.
Kagome may be wearing foreign clothing, but she's a reincarnated priestess from five hundred years into the future.
Shippo's the small fox kit and Kirara's the tiny nekomata beside him.
She's Sango's battle companion, so she's gentle with humans.
My name is Miroku and I'm the monk of the group."
Kirara then mewed at InuTaisho in a friendly manner.
However, it seemed that Koiyuki wanted to do her own introducing.
The little three year old pup then toddled over to the dog general and raised her tiny arms up to him.
" 'Andpa, up?"
This brought a smile to the monks face, before he continued.
However, he didn't realize that Sango bore a rather curiously strong resemblance to Izayoi, Inuyasha's mother.
"This adorable little three year old is Lord Sesshomaru's daughter by blood and her name is Koiyuki."
Sesshomaru had indeed felt his father's gaze on him and it made him uncomfortable because he wasn't ready yet to explain his relationship with Kagome.
He bent down and picked up one of the burning sticks from the fire they started, looking a bit pale.
"I suggest we keep moving.
The sooner we get out of this stifling prison, the better.
Besides, our other companion could use a pair a fresh clothing."
With this said, he began walking back the way they came, sensing others in the group following him.
This grabbed Hikari's attention and he began to follow after Sesshomaru as well.
