“Me?” He smacks his lips. “Meddle? Is that all I am to you, Light?” Smack. “A meddler? HaHAhahAhaHA! And here I thought we grew SO close during my stay at your place. Oh,” he pauses to lick the corner of his lips, “the fun we had....” His eyes light up as if looking back at a fond childhood memory. “We really should do a sleepover again sometime, hahaheeheehee!” Watari walks in with a jar of jam.



“Now there’s great service for ya! I gotta get me one of these...” He indicates by poking the older gentleman in the thigh with his knife. Watari jumps in surprise and loses balance. The Joker catches the jar as if falls off the platter. “At ease!” He salutes Watari, who quickly takes his leave, and becomes completely occupied in the act of opening the jar, making a show of it as he speaks idly; twisting the cap one way, then the other; tapping it with the butt of his knife; analyzing the glass bottom as if contemplating to break it...



“The funny thing about Arkham is that it’s just like me.” Smack. “You can let out all sorts of crazy chaos with just the flick of a switch. HahaHoHOhohA!”



He raises the jar as if to smash the jelly free, but at this point Light boldly takes it out of his hands, gives it a small twist, and places the opened jar on the coffee table between them.



The Joker stares at him and gives one loud smack of his lips, seemingly disappointed at having his moment of play taken away.



“Ya know...” He pauses to run his tongue over his lower lip, “...as much as you think you’re always RIGHT, Light,” He relishes in the affect his pronunciation has on his listener as he practically spits out the t’s, “I didn’t come here for you.” He seizes the jar and spoons out a dollop, splashing it unceremoniously into the teacup.

"Wai--" Light was about to stop L, but the man had already left the room with unusual speed. 'Great,' he thought, 'As if I need alone time with this clown.' He suppresses a shudder that threatens to coarse his body. 'L's obviously going to be watching. It's not like I can kill this vermin...as much as I want to...'



He watches the Joker as he fidgets, worse than any child. And that annoying, incessant lip-smacking tic of his quietly echoes in the room...Light cringes slightly.



"I don't know why you're here," He whispers sharply, "but you'd better not meddle in my life again. You've gone too far by coming here today."
