Well in my experience, if you're selling in the Exchange, you're either 1) Looking to make quick gold fast (most people are doing this), or 2) looking to sell an expensive item without having to pay the 2% marketplace tax... and sell it faster lol. The tradeoff is that, though you get to sell it fast, you are also going to be selling it for less (Otherwise you might wait days for it to sell in the marketplace). In fact, there exist people (such as myself) who make their money by buying items in the Exchange for low prices and reselling them later on for higher prices on the marketplace. These are the vendors, and usually they will offer very low, especially if an item is expensive and hard to sell. They will try for the best deal they can get, and sometimes will never offer high enough to meet the price you want. In that case, its up to you whether you want to wait or sell, but it never hurts to ask them to keep adding until they say highest, and then thank them for their business. Every post they make is also a bump for your topic smile

Sometimes, rarely, you will find someone in the exchange who genuinely wants the item to keep (not to resell) and it is from them you will get your best prices. Otherwise, expect opening offers to be around 80% of the lowest marketplace value I'd say, depending on how hard the item is to sell. For example, 280k on Carousel and 80k are actually great offers (I'd open with 240k on carousel, and I've seen many people starting at 250 or 260), and many people sell for those prices. Charlotte, if lmp is around 100k, you might be able to sell for 85k, 90k if you're lucky, but I doubt many would offer higher. For the carousel, since it is a second generation, I'd say you'd be lucky to get 300k.

Even on the most popular items, people are looking for at 20k off of marketplace price if not more. Definitely look to make more than the 2% discount, that's for sure, and the more you are willing to discount, the easier it'll be to sell ^^ If someone says they're not going higher, there's also no shame in settling for their price and pming/commenting them back, even if it's a little later to make the sale.

Ah, I see! Thank you for taking the time to say sorry! I'm also sorry for being snappy earlier, I just found it really rude to respond with a one word "no" to people like that, especially people with fair offers (I always offer low, so I understand it can infuriate people and usually leave it be). Everyone raises their prices in the exchange, few people offer a price they won't raise on, and I was just very peeved that even offers as good as 280k and 80k got the same "no", not even an "add please". I'm sure they would have added, hun, it never hurts to ask people to add!
