I partially enjoy your signature, but I think if one invests in an ideology and learns to adapt it when needed it's an acceptable process. It's when one lets it suffer rigidity that it becomes a nuisance. But having a starting point isn't at all a bad idea, I don't think.

If we never invested in ideologies, we wouldn't have gone on to discover Zen Buddhism, or Taoism may not have flourished, Christianity wouldn't have underwent Protestantism, etc. I'm sure you get the point.
