John Randall Hennigan (born October 3, 1979) is an American professional wrestler better known by his ring name John Morrison, and previously Johnny Nitro. He is signed to World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) performing on its Raw brand.

Before being promoted to the main WWE roster, Hennigan entered Tough Enough III, a televised competition that would award the winner a WWE contract. He was one of the winners in the competition and assigned to their developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), to continue his wrestling training. While situated at OVW, he was placed in a tag team, alongside Joey Mercury, in which they won the OVW Southern Tag Team Championship on one occasion. It was also during this time that he and Mercury, alongside their manager Melina, were known as the stable MNM.

After signing with WWE, the group were called up to the SmackDown! roster and on their debut in April 2005, Hennigan and Mercury went on to win the WWE Tag Team Championship. After their third and final reign ended in May 2006, Hennigan and Melina turned on Mercury. Hennigan and Melina were let go from the SmackDown! roster and debuted on the Raw brand. During his time with the brand, Hennigan competed in singles competition and won the WWE Intercontinental Championship twice. In June 2007, Hennigan was drafted from Raw to the ECW brand. During that time, he won the vacant ECW World Championship once, which was his first world championship. Hennigan formed a partnership with The Miz in late 2007, with the two capturing the WWE Tag Team Championship and the World Tag Team Championship on separate occasions. They split in April 2009, and Morrison returned to SmackDown, where he won the Intercontinental Championship for the third time in September 2009.
John Morrison endured a personal evolution of sorts after capturing the vacated ECW Championship at Vengeance: Night of Champions in 2007. The Superstar that had formerly been known as Johnny Nitro officially renamed himself John Morrison, his given birth name, on the historic July 17, 2007, edition of ECW. The transformation came when Morrison realized that winning the Extreme title represented the peak of his fame to date, and allowed him to "be himself" from that point forward.
Shortly thereafter, Morrison found unexpected success alongside another brazen, rising star in the Land of the Extreme, The Miz. The Shaman of Sexy's vanity quickly reached new heights, much like his WWE career.
And Morrison has good reason to be confident. He has never been too far away from gold since his debut in 2005, capturing tag team gold as well as the Intercontinental Championship. The Shaman of Sexy was ultimately drafted to ECW during the 2007 Supplemental Draft on WWE.com, and his career was given new life. As the world can now see, Morrison took full advantage of his Extreme home.
Alongside The Miz, John Morrison secured the WWE Tag Team Championship on SmackDown territory following the unique talent exchange arrangement between SmackDown and ECW managing officials. They later held the World Tag Team Championships, and nearly became the Unified Tag Team Champions, making their Superstar alliance one of the great tag teams in recent memory. The dynamic duo achieved even greater success with their hit WWE.com Exclusive show “The Dirt Sheet,” which not only produced some of the funniest moments in the history of the site, but also helped to make them into Slammy Award winners.
When the 2009 WWE Draft brought this “bro-mance” to an abrupt end, Morrison headed to SmackDown, where he has quickly begun making an even bigger impact than ever before. In perhaps the biggest match of his career, Morrison dethroned Rey Mysterio on SmackDown on Sept. 4 to begin a two month reign as Intercontinental Champion.
In the 2010 WWE Draft, Morrison migrated to Raw where, week after week, the Superstar now known as the Monday Night Delight continues to live up to his nickname.
