Hello. My username is The Iron Magus, but please call me TIM for short.
I'm 27, male, and recently graduated with a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science. I am currentlystill looking for my first professional position. Wish me luck!
Aside from my career aspirations, I am also a proud atheist, liberal, and geek. I like Japanese and American animation and comics, Dungeons and Dragons, computers, the internet, video games, books, and things of that nature. I'm also studying Japanese in my spare time.
I am the founder of the Gaians in Black, one of the big four groups involved in the Zurg event.
XD But that wouldn't be fun! Plus there are at least two other paws who have already made it to 100 (I'm not looking at the thread until I'm done so I don't cheat and use their ideas, IDK it's more fun this way). I'm at 97... Just three more items XO shoot me now pls
I'm totally going to use this as my paw of the day XD I've been doing paw avatars every day in an unbroken streak for about four months as a thing I do, posting one every day to legitimize it and keep track. It's kind of pointless but weirdly satisfying, haha.
Informal contest in the paws forum to see who can put on 100 items... I'm like 6 short atm and Gaia has trouble loading all the items, so I saved to abuse the "reset" function instead of going through outfits. XD Paws forum best forum heart
A lot of the time, I hold back on talking about stuff because 'oh gosh this might bore/offend people'. Doesn't help that when I do have discussions similar to this IRL, especially ones involving very subjective topics, people would rather I just shut up or just agree with the other person (dad). So it was just a nice surprise for me to be able to talk about these kinds of things, I guess.
Remember what I said about kindness and empathy being 'wow'? I just have intense feelings of gratitude when I think people do nice things without having to. Sometimes I feel really awkward about expressing that gratitude and do nothing but just keep it in my heart (and that makes me really frustrated), and sometimes I actually do something about it. So yeah.
I just cannot thank you enough for your participation in those discussions. And I know we're just about done wringing blood out of those turnips topics, so I'll try to keep things less longwinded for both our sakes for awhile. The key word here being 'try' since I can't help but be carried away by my thoughts most of the time. sweatdrop And really, feel free to let me know when I'm just being ridiculous. I find it hard to catch myself when I'm stepping out of line.
Cool questions at AtS btw! emotion_kirakira I'm definitely looking forward to those Zurg names being fixed since it's so weird to find them like that when I was going through Zurg posts.
Honestly, Gaia Online as a company wasn't making enough to support itself until late 2013. It was running off of various loans and that was why the CEOs were switched. The long term goal is to slowly lower payouts on generators until the 0s start shedding, but I doubt that it will ever be like the '07, '08 economy where 10 million was a huge amount of gold.
I'd like to be as open as possible regarding their existence, simply because I dislike them as much as anyone, but I regard them as a necessary evil. I'm open to talking about them, especially if it involves discussion as opposed to blanket statements. So thank you as well, for caring about it and also being willing to hear other opinions.
