I can respect people deciding they don't want to support someone's professional work because of that person's personal opinions and actions.
Ender's Game was the first thing I read by Card and I will always love the books. Card being a pretty mainstream bestselling author at least allows for local libraries to have the books so you can avoid buying his new stuff. Most of the authors that write more specifically in this subgenre (Card writing homo/bisexual characters is rather more incidental) are not well-known and it's hard to find their work in libraries. I'd always suggest reading amazon reviews and summaries first or checking goodreads to get more of a sense of the books before buying.
As a general recommendation, anything published through Blind Eye Books has been consistently high quality so their releases are something to keep an eye on (several new books already announced for this year, can't wait!) ^^
